Kamdev (the suspense story) part 6

"Remember—you with your own hands had put the letter in the ball and handed over the ball to me—I will give a statement to the police that the ball in a very mysterious way broke the glass of the ventilator and fell into my room—I as a precaution took out the letter from the ball through a handkerchief and read it—I am fully sure that this letter Vijay only has thrown—because he is bent on taking out old enmity from me—you take finger prints from the letter—surely they will match with Vijay's finger prints."

?"What old enmity is between us?"

?"I have kept half a dozen mistresses—one from them will give a statement to the police that Vijay wanted to obtain me—but I took no interest in this—once he saw me in Sagar's arms—he did scuffle with Sagar and went away after giving a threat to see him—since then Vijay is considering Sagar his biggest enemy—and my remaining five mistresses will confirm this statement of his that whatever he has said, he has said the truth—when scuffle happened between them then we also were present there."

?"Sagar, he has this fear that if we told all this to the police then his game will be spoiled—and by informing the police we should spoil his game—only then we will be able to come out of his trap."

?"This point I also am understanding—but he already thinks what we will think—he forced me—and I you—now neither I can tell anything to the police nor you—the game is in his hands only." Saying this much Sagar disconnected the connection.

?Vijay, slamming the receiver on the cradle, said—"See, he stopped me."

Through the questions and answers of Vijay on the phone, all three had already understood the half-complete matter.

  ?"What happened?"

?Vijay told in detail. As soon as they heard the full talk, the ears of all three began to ring. Now this matter indeed began to look serious.

?While Vijay screamed—"Now tell me was I thinking right or you—we are badly trapped in his net—he knew very well that as soon as Sagar gets the letter for the first time he will make a mind to finish Lame Vijay—and in any case will not tell the police—but now Sagar could inform the police—because neither did he find Lame Vijay—and nor had he done any murder now—without mentioning the visit to our house he could inform the police and say that someone is throwing this type of letters in my house—you please investigate this—but The Eighth Wonder already knew that when Sagar will find me in place of Lame Vijay then he will think to inform the police—but he did not let this happen—at night Sagar had said that with The Eighth Wonder not only mine but your concern also is there—now I am starting to have belief on Sagar's talk—head is exploding by thinking and thinking—nothing is going to happen by overthinking too much—we will have to wait only for some mistake to happen from him—otherwise the matter is looking left on fate—what has to happen is only what is written in fate."

?As soon as Vijay became silent, Kanchan said—"See, this thinking leads to nothing but certain defeat—man is not only a sufferer of deeds but also a master of his actions—with hard work and the power of intellect a new fate can also be created—leaving everything on fate is equal to inviting disaster—I will try to explain my point through an example—in a grocery shop mice started doing much damage then the owner said to the servant that you tomorrow bring a cat from your village—servant gave consent—and the mice also heard this talk—all day and through the night their meetings kept happening—some mice were in favor of running from there—but the opinion of some mice was that nothing will happen by running uselessly—we can become the prey of cat anywhere—what has to happen is only what is written in fate—the mice who were not agreeing with them ran away before the day dawned—and then the cat did not give the remaining mice a chance to run and soon ate them—to keep waiting for some mistake from The Eighth Wonder means to become inactive yourself—inactivity becomes the cause of the destruction of enthusiasm—and without enthusiasm the heart becomes barren—barren means the end of all possibilities—but we need such a heart in which the seed of hope can be sown—then with intellect that seed can be germinated—and if appropriate efforts are kept continued keeping an eye on the target then that hope definitely bears fruit—therefore we should always remain active so that hope keeps taking birth—but hope should be such which can become meaningful."

As soon as Kanchan became silent, Vijay spoke—"Meaning that you want me to keep racking my brain?"

?"We all will have to work our brains much—perhaps only then some clue can be found which may expose him—but I am feeling The Eighth Wonder is some acquaintance of ours only," she said.

?"What is this you are saying?" Vijay was badly shocked.

?"Cannot say for sure but still it can be so—because all letters are typed—perhaps The Eighth Wonder has fear that if he writes by hand then his writing will be recognized," she replied.

?"May be he is not our acquaintance and he has taken the support of typing machine only as a precaution."

?"I had only expressed a possibility—between your given logic and my own logic I am not hundred percent sure on anyone," she clarified.

?Vijay, holding his head, sat on the sofa.

That matchless beauty for making whom his own anyone was ready to sacrifice anything. Whose every outfit would become fashion and on every style hearts would be murdered. Such a charming face that eyes would get restless to see. That precious gem was at this moment holding Vijay in her arms. The gem named Kanchan whose marriage had broken millions of hearts. And had attached her heart with Vijay. But till now Vijay had proven to be a failure only. Even today the attempt to run this coin had started.

?Vijay wanted to come out from her arms but Kanchan kept the grip maintained. And in no time Kanchan's clothes kept coming off like layers of an onion. Seeing her youth anyone would forget to blink eyes but Vijay's eyes were downcast at this moment.
