A few things were learned.
So. Turns out he's dumb.
Big shocker.
Pokemon have moves, and abilities. And while he's not sure of Jophiel's moveset, he's now aware of one of her abilities.
Pastel Veil, and just like what Tulip in chat said, it protects not only herself but allies from poison.
That's really good.
Joshua didn't even realize how depraved he was of good news until he got it, it was like a small trickle of rain during a drought.
Coupled with the… ‘holy’ things that happen, Jophiel could very well be another major factor in their survival.
With the small ignition of excitement in his heart, he scoops her up by her haunches and brings her up to his face.
“P-Pony!”
“God! You are such an angel! You fit your name like a goddamn glove”
He pnts a few quick pecks along the top of her muzzle.
“P-PO-”
Despite it not making sense since she's a horse, her white-furred face turns into a lukewarm shade of red. Her hooves cover her snout as she turns away with a flustered expression.
Her red face contrasts with the white bandages around her forehead. Joshua ignores her state and brings her face to face once more.
“Thank you Jophiel, seriously. You've helped me so much”
Jophiel, in a show of keeping her pride and equal parts showing affection, pushes his face away with her hoof.
“Pony…”
Joshua knows that her ‘noble image’ is just a bit she does for fun, so it doesn't take long for her to drop it. With a welcome gaze she just nuzzles into his cheek affectionately.
They both choose to ignore the people in chat screaming.
[AWWWWWWW]
[AWWWWWWWWWWW]
[<3 <3 <3 <3 >3]
[No joker don't do it]
[SO CUUUUUUTTEEE]
They totally didn't forget they were being filmed.
They aren't embarrassed at all.
Really.
…
Joshua needs a new goal.
But first, he needs to properly take stock of what he has, and what he can do.
His primary goal is simple: get home. That hasn't changed.
His secondary goal was getting iron, but now he has some of it, only some, but enough for now.
Diamonds, maybe?
Mining seems… honestly it seems like a nightmare for Joshua. He can't tell the proper Y levels so he'd have to enter caves…
Caves full of mobs…
He'd save that for ter.
Right now, his inventory is mostly full of wood, cobblestone, mutton, his “camping kit” (bed, furnace, crafting table), his tools, some spare iron, apples, saplings, and a rge quantity of cloth and “metal scrap” he got from dismantling the things in the hospital.
So far, he has three safeguards against threats, maybe four.
One is his cross, and whatever happens when he recites scripture. The strange mental and supernatural effects counters whatever is out there.
Two is his Minecraft powers (it sounds me but that's what it is), simply being able to wall himself in with meter thick stone is a huge advantage.
And three, Jophiel makes poison a non-issue, and her Magical Mind-Reading Pony Powers has been and will continue to be a great advantage.
And four…
[IRON DAGGER (Unbreaking I)]
Enchantments.
Even in the game, enchantments are absolutely worth looking into. But if he recalls correctly, he needs quite a few things to get to making enchants.
So here's the pn.
“Step 1: Find the ocean so I can make a base.
Step 2: Go… ugh, mining…
Step 3: Make a beeline towards enchants.
In between, I can work with ‘faith’... yeah I'll just call it that, it fits. Yeah, solid pn, right?”
“Pony”
It only takes an hour or so to reach the structure shown on the Pokenav.
And when they do…
“Huh”
“Pony”
“Honestly I thought it was gonna be another obelisk”
What sits in front of them, nestled between the trees…
Is a pne.
One of the smaller ones, with the front propeller and can only hold like four people.
It crashed, with pieces of it broken off and ying not far away.
But what interests him is the fact that the trees and ground seem damaged because of it.
It's not like the other ‘structures’, where they seem to be perfectly pced regardless of its surroundings, like they're simply part of the terrain.
Here, the trees show signs of damage, and the grass around it is slightly singed.
It seems more like… instead of a pne being ‘pced’ here. Someone flew the pne, and then crashed it.
Someone else was here.
Joshua shares a look with Jophiel, and they approach the wreckage.
…
Somewhere, unknown to the two, something spurs into motion.
In the nest of… something, surrounded by bck tendrils and walls lined in thin tendons and fine fiber hairs, sits a small yellow suit made of unknown materials, yet remains unharmed by the intrusive environment trying to worm its way inside.
An entropic, necromorphic purple-hued gas lingers like a sickness around it. Strangely, the tendrils and rotten bck dirt seem to stop at a radius around it, almost afraid to approach, the gas catches a small breeze and briefly touches a nearby “root” immediately kills the unknown organisms and turns them to piles of useless flesh. Whatever it killed, let out a painful, animalistic scream.
Equine in shape, a gss dome headpiece sits at the front with built in air filters at either side. The yellow suit has several bck padding and straps around it, including around its almost “bag” shaped tail area. A talisman sits inside, written in an ineligible alphabet, suddenly ignites.
Runes spur to life, glowing with the same purple sheen as they pull a strange light from above.
The purple gas seems to be pulled into the suit, funneling in through a small break in the gss headpiece. A sheen goes through the suit as the gss repairs itself.
All of the gas enters the suit, filling out the legs, the body, the tail, each part is filled as it spread along the suits interior.
Then… after the talisman dies down.
The suit twitches.
Then it moves.
“Ugh…”
A high pitched voice comes from it.
It's hooves reach up and tries to touch it's head, only to meet the gss headpiece.
“Oh! Right, duh! That was silly”
Something stands up, nodding it's head slightly as if it woke from a nap. The gss is clear, but it's face is hidden by the darkness around them.
With an almost energetic bounce in their movements, they look around, slouching slightly in confusion the more they take in.
They spot a figure in the darkness.
“Um… Oh! Hello mister, do you know where I am?”
Bckened eyes turn to it, it's jaw is hanging low and it's limbs elongated into sharp, boney talons on each finger. It looks lethargic, and it moves with an unnatural… unease to it, like it's apparence is only a costume.
For the abomination though, it makes no difference.
“Wow! You're so skinny! I have some jerky in my bag… I think… do you want some?”
The parasite lunges.
