No one POV
A man clad in a black cloak, and white clothes was currently sitting on a log in a random forest. The man's hair was long and rough, reaching down to his neck, and it was a weird shade of dark blue.
His body wasn't jacked but finely toned, you could tell he had taken care of himself via daily exercise. A key feature of his build was a long scar that traced from one side of his neck to the other; it had faded showing its old age but still remained. One of his eyes were onyx black, and the other a bright blue, it was a weird pairing but unique enough to look cool.
This young man was Amon, an eighteen-year-old aspiring actor who was dragged into this world by force.
How did this happen?
He honestly didn't know.
"The last thing I remember is-
Flashback
"You've been chosen Amon! You get to be the hero who saves the world from the demon king!" The god chimed happily while clapping, Amon sitting there with a blank face.
"But I don't want to. That seems incredibly dangerous... and I love my life right now. My mom and my sister love me, and I just began to get my feet wet in acting."
The god began to physically deflate. "B-But you can save the world..."
Amon laughed nervously and smiled politely, bowing his head. "I'm not really the heroic type... sorry Mr God sir. Can you just send me back home?"
Lots of laughs could suddenly be heard, Amon didn't know where they were coming from, but he could hear them. The god before him, who he thought was the only god, began to get embarrassed.
The god grit his teeth in anger before inflating again, with bulging muscles and tick marks all around his body. "How dare you!! You insolent mortal!! I give you the opportunity of a thousand- no, a millennium and you turn me down?! Your god?!! Fine then!!"
Amon began to glow, causing him to panic. "W-Wait what's-
"Not the hero type huh?! Try this on for size then!"
Present
"Petty son of a bitch."
Looking at the game like window before him, Amon sighed at his role.
*Villain*
In these types of scenarios, there was never the mention of a villain. Of course there were villains, but those were just necessary bad guys and finally the Demon King.
There was never a person with the designation of villain, like there was hero. Letting out a long drawn out sigh, Amon looked at the list of things he had to accomplish before he could return to his world.
*Rule the criminal world*
*Recruit 10 loyal subjects*
*Cause 10 disasters*
These three were already hard enough.
In worlds like the fantasy one he was in, the criminal world wasn't just consisted of petty criminals and thugs, but lots of organizations clashing against each other for power, money, land, and endless other things.
Nobles were often involved too.
The second one wouldn't be extremely difficult, he just had to find people who hated the world and save them, make them emotionally attached to him, and manipulate their feelings.
"Seems easy and not morally fucked!" He thought sarcastically.
The third one seemed to be the easiest but could also be the hardest, depending on what counted as disasters and what didn't. It could be as simple, but just as fucked up, as murdering a town, or could be as difficult as setting a volcano ablaze or running an entire kingdom.
Despite these three conditions, the fourth one seemed like the most impossible.
*Kill the hero*
Amon let out a long-drawn-out sigh. He bawled up and held his head, wanting to just wake up and have all this be a horrible dream. "I'm screwed."
The hero is the person destined to save the world, if he kills him too early either he'll have to save the world or he'll be leaving it to die.
And on top of that, this mission might not even be possible, considering the hero is usually always super overpowered in these types of tropes.
He also has no way of knowing who the hero is, but he was sure he'd find out eventually if the hero was actually doing his job.
"I'll actually have to fight too... fuck all I know is basic kendo and archery."
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Looking at the screen before him, he resolved himself and clicked the next button, beginning to explanation.
*Congratulations, you have promoted to Villain!*
"Promotion my ass."
*Your end goal will be to kill the hero! But you're way too weak right now, as the hero has already begun his journey two months ago and grown exponentially!! *
Amon gaped. "He's op and gets a fucking head start?! How is this fair god?!!"
*Do not fret though because you are a villain! You don't need to necessarily fight him; you just have to kill him! Although you'll need a certain level of strength comparable to his to do it, I believe you can! Let's begin picking your two focuses! *
The window before Amon changed, showing him six different options.
*Attack, Agility, Support, Healing, Defense, Precision. *
Amon hummed. "Agility is a must so I can avoid getting hit... don't need defense if I don't get hit... not supporting or healing at all..."
Looking at the last two options, it was between attack and precision. Having played games before he had a general idea of what each meant, and if this was a normal game he'd just pick attack.
After a bit of contemplation, he found himself clicking precision. "If I'm quick and precise, my attack won't matter as long as I hit a vital."
*Great Choices! Now to pick your basic unique skill! *
*Flight, Regeneration, Weapon Mastery, Teleportation, Hypnosis, Detection.*
Amon was stuck with yet another decision. "Flight and Detection are instant no's. Teleportation doesn't specify how wide the distance... and hypnosis could really mean low level manipulation."
Looking at his last options, Amon hummed. "I can always learn how to wield a weapon, I don't know the degree of regeneration but surely it's good enough to keep me alive."
*Great choice once again, Mr Villain! Now for your final selection! This one has a lot more options so please think carefully! Please choose your class!*
Amon hummed. "I thought my class was Villain... but looks like I actually get to choose something."
Scrolling through the long list, Amon passed all of the fighter and combat classes, he would leave all that to his future subjects.
Some may call it cowardice, but he was just an ordinary school kid, he didn't want to have to kill everyone he ran into.
Especially not with his own hands.
He scrolled for tens of minutes, if the status window was an actual person they probably would've been pissed. However he wouldn't have cared anyway, this couldn't be changed, so he had to make absolutely sure he knew what he was doing.
He wanted to go for something with tons of versatility, adept at combat enough to keep him alive, but good enough at everything else too. Finally stopping at his chosen class, Amon smiled a bit. "If this works the way I hope it does... then this is it, this class is going to be my lifeline. If not... I was destined to die regardless."
Selecting his class, the status window took a bit to respond. "Is it broken?"
*Are you sure you want to click this class, Mr Villain? Once a class is selected you cannot change.*
Amon was hesitant to click the yes button, but he did so anyway.
*Questionable choice but I'm sure you know what you're doing!*
Amon laughed a bit. "It finally said something that wasn't a compliment."
*Now that you have completed your selections I will explain a few things. Upon doing villainous acts you will achieve points, these points can be used to strengthen any of your stats, your class, or your skills.*
Amon hummed. "So I don't get the traditional level up system? I guess God wanted to make it hard for me."
*When you have achieved something required for your missions you will be notified. Otherwise you will no longer see the status window unless you bring up your own.*
Amon clicked his tongue. "I don't get the super cheese skill that most guys get to look at others status windows? Of course not, god literally hates me."
*You are not restricted from doing anything you choose to do, but remember you only have one life. If you fail, that is it. If there are any questions you have after the tutorial is over, you may scream the word question. However this will only occur three times, so keep that in mind before you choose to ask.*
Amon nodded, the window closing.
*Once the tutorial ends, gods will be able to watch you no matter where you are with the exception of moments when privacy is a must. They may enjoy your adventure and sponsor you, or they may despise you and try to get in your way, so please be aware of that.*
Amon sighed. "Great, I'm a streamer now too."
*Please Enter Username*
Amon sighed once more. "Isn't this supposed to be first?"
*Good luck Nova, I hope your triumph is attainable with ease.*
*Tutorial over. Opening the gods view.*
The moment the status window disappeared a small number appeared in the corner of Amon's vision. He could see and read it even if it was incredibly small, which was a rather weird experience but he wasn't mad at it.
"I guess this is how many gods are watching."
The number read 52, he assumed it would be less than ten, so this was a bit ideal.
He noticed he could turn on the comments, but he refused, knowing that they would just be distractions.
He stood up and stretched, looking forward down the pathway before him. "I guess I should start heading to the nearest city."
As he began his walk, a screen appeared before him, stopping him in his tracks.
*Anonymous God 8765 Donated 5 copper. "Open the comments"*
Amon hummed.
"No. But thanks for the money."
He had been sent here due to a god; he wasn't going to follow their demands just because they threw a bit of change at him. "How much is copper worth here anyway? Probably not much."
The views on his channel dropped exponentially, leaving only five. He actually preferred this, now that most of the flies left only those truly interested remained.
"Does anyone else have something to say before I continue walking?"
*Anonymous God 2031 Donated 1 bronze. "Looking forward to a wonderful show." *
*Anonymous God 4802 Donated 1 bronze. "You should start by getting allies. Maybe a slave auction or something." *
Amon hummed, he found himself doing that a lot. "Thanks for the bronze. Obtaining allies via slave auction huh. That's a cliche in most of these stories...which means it's boring."
An idea sparking in his head, Amon smirked.
"I'll show you all something you've never seen before."
What Amon was about to do was something he wasn't going to be happy doing, honestly he would've rather avoided it.
But it was something he had to do.
If things went accordingly, he would knock out several birds with one stone.
He was given the role of the villain, and he was prepared to fill out this role.
He was an actor, and an actor becomes their role.
"I'll show you a villain, you damn god."
