[Bonus] Volume 1 Dramatis Personæ and Q&A

  People from the widow's Earth:

  Rosario Madera

  First appearance: Chapter 1

The widow herself, a centenarian and Malwine's past life. Let's say she was a multi-faceted person, and she died when the spaceship she was taking to the Moon exploded.

  Rupert Hebenstreit

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 1)

Rosario's late husband. Everyone seems suspiciously happy about him being dead.

  Margaret Smith

  First appearance: Chapter 1

The widow's neighbor, whose intolerant and wholly unsolicited comments are the breaking point that convince her to leave the literal planet to find alternative housing on the Moon.

  Professor Jackson

  First appearance: Chapter 1

A somewhat elitist family historian whose personality the widow misinterpreted before speaking to him. He only barely escapes her ire because they were in a public location.

  Yoland Hebenstreit (‘Yoyo’)

First appearance: Chapter 1 (in phone call only)

The widow's grandson who introduced her to the concept of isekais just before her death. He was kicked out as a teenager by his father and is currently plotting revenge against an entire company for Rosario’s death.

  Brunilda

Has not appeared (First mention: Interlude - Life After Spaceships)

Yoyo's wife, who he met during an exchange program.

  Myrna Zamacuco

First appearance: Interlude - Life After Spaceships

One of Yoyo's cousins from his mother's side. The widow would be proud of her penchant for violence.

  Roland Zamacuco

Has not appeared (First mention: Interlude - Life After Spaceships)

Yoyo's maternal grandfather, who is also a potentially dangerous centenarian.

  Thurmond Thompson

First appearance: Interlude - Life After Spaceships

The nepo baby responsible for the whole spaceship explosion incident. He dies soon after his introduction while Eylo pretends to care.

House Rīsan and relatives (the main protagonists)

  Malwine Rīsanin

The primary MC of this story.

A reincarnated centenarian-turned-toddler who popped up in a shed and no one’s entirely sure as to when or how she was even actually born. She inherited a curse from her mother that lowers her attributes by -99% and has a host of other problems to deal with.

  Kristian Rīsan

  First appearance: Chapter 3

The only surviving member of the Champion Saint's party and the face of his House. He's successfully killed several Champions despite being mortal in a bid to resurrect his own and has a build detrimentally geared towards being erratic and threatening.

  Katrina Skrībanin

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 11)

Kristian's first wife and the mother of his oldest children. She is implied to have been the strongest local member of Zayden's party, second only to the Champion Saint himself, and intentionally barred her children from inheriting her Affinities.

  Bernadette fon Hūdijanin (‘Bernie’)

  First appearance: Chapter 3

Kristian's second and younger wife who suffers from a mild case of inferiority-superiority complex, but manages to single handedly keep the estate afloat anyway. She intentionally discarded her surname and Malwine's abilities consider her family extinct.

  Beryl Rīsanin

Has not appeared (First mention: Chapter 2)

Kristian and Katrina's first child, who is currently missing. She is Malwine’s mother and no one seems to have a single clue as to what happened to her or even exactly when she left.

  Anselm Rīsan

  First appearance: Chapter 8

The eldest male child of the family and a former apprentice to an actual alchemist. He has no sense of self-preservation left and is dealing with the influence of a god and possibly the sea itself, though that’s admittedly mostly Hanne’s fault.

  Thekla Rīsanin

  First appearance: Chapter 9

The oldest aunt Malwine has. She has a weird thing for tiles and seems to be fueled purely by what has to be either boundless self-confidence or an unhealthy ego.

  Kristoffer Rīsan

  First appearance: Chapter 9

Another of Malwine's uncles, who has a penchant for identifying suspicious locations. His family keeps forgetting he exists.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

  Alaric Rīsan

  First appearance: Chapter 9

Another of Malwine's uncles, who keeps making weirdly accurate jokes about things he should be unaware of. His family also keeps forgetting he exists.

  Matilda Rīsanin

  First appearance: Chapter 8

The first child Kristian had with Bernadette, and an aspiring adventurer. Now that she has reached the Mortal Esse, she is stuck learning courtly manners from her mother, much to her chagrin.

  Paul Rīsan

  First appearance: Chapter 28

Another of Kristian and Bernadette's kids. He's still very young and only cares about playtime.

  Adelheid Rīsanin

  First appearance: Chapter 12

The most suspicious child in existence and that's including Malwine, who shares the toddler room with her. She has two Affinities and is implied to be impervious to wards.

  Benedikt Rīsan

Has not appeared (First mention: Chapter 44)

He was just born, and Malwine keeps wondering where he’s at.

  Otto Rīsan

  First appearance: Chapter 15

Good question! He can be seen sending casual hatemail to Bernadette.

  Beryl Skrībanin (‘Older Beryl’/‘OBeryl’)

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 5)

Katrina’s late mother. Malwine believes she was a scribe and that she may or may not have been in a cult.

  People from Beuzaheim and outskirts:

  Hanne Maritima

  First appearance: Chapter 3

A seafarer and freehand alchemist who has little to no respect for the concept of informed consent in experiments. She was once friends with both Anselm and Bernadette, but is currently disliked by both for similar reasons.

  Abelard Lange

  First appearance: Chapter 27

Baldur Maryem’s assistant and Thekla Rīsanin’s alleged suitor. He comes from Lizan? and is implied to have attained a ridiculously inflated level at the cost of being extremely unlikely to progress ever again.

  Gertraud

  First appearance: Chapter 29

A highly insistent innkeeper with an excessive concern for the health of her guests. She's implied to be acting on someone else's behalf to get Anselm examined.

  Jericho

  First appearance: Chapter 29

An alleged doctor who runs some tests on a barely willing Anselm. Regardless of his qualifications, he is not getting paid enough to put up with this bullshit.

  Johann Maryem

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 27)

The former mayor of Beuzaheim, who took the hereditary position during the early stages of its main noble family's decline. He's implied to have been in the pocket of mercenaries.

  Baldur Maryem

  First appearance: Chapter 15

A former mercenary who became the current mayor of Beuzaheim after being mysteriously recognized as Johann's alleged widower son-in-law. He has a reputation as a libertine and does nothing to disprove it when Thekla meets him.

  Luitgarde Maryem

  First appearance: Chapter 35

Johann Maryem's only surviving child, whom he considered inadequate as a successor. She has not taken it well and has since grown convinced Baldur is to blame for literally everything that has ever happened.

  Old Martin/Old Father Martin

Has not appeared (First mention: Chapter 23)

The old alchemist that taught Anselm, Hanne, and Bernadette in their youth. He has disappeared and is legally considered deceased.

  ‘Veit’ (Niemat Kh?dan)

First appearance: Interlude - The Caves of Pikkōnheim

A slightly depressed and definitely ancient man who takes a job offer from Bernadette after being left widowed. He's having a bit too much fun watching this family fall apart.

  Saints and Champions:

  Zayden Owens (‘The Champion Saint’)

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 3)

The leader of the party Kristian and Katrina belonged to. He gets his title from having been summoned as a Champion, yet later becoming a Saint for a different Affinity.

  Jacob Hayes

  First appearance: Chapter 3

The latest Champion who Kristian killed to take his Champion obit’s complimentary mana. His {Lightning} Affinity was enough of a bad match for him that he barely won, despite this Champion being much weaker than him.

  Khaiman Kh?dan

First appearance: Interlude - Devils and Saints

An Immortal and the Saint of {Vanagloria}. She serves as the de facto overseer of all Saint spheres through seniority.

  Susanna

First appearance: Interlude - Devils and Saints

The Saint of {Lightning} and Jacob Hayes’s summoner. Her petition for additional summoning resources went poorly.

  Louis

First appearance: Interlude - Devils and Saints

A Lizan?n Saint belonging to Susanna’s sphere. He’s the third Saint named Louis to join, which is not particularly important, but annoys Khaiman.

  Others

  Georg

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 3)

A member of Zayden’s party whose obit was lost in war.

  Helena

Deceased before the story starts (First mention: Chapter 3)

A member of Zayden’s party whose obit was lost in war.

  Apollonia Lange

First appearance: Interlude - The Caves of Pikkōnheim

Veit's mortal wife who, after well over a millennium of being abjured by all Affinities she tried, asks him not to resurrect her the next time she dies. He surrenders her obit to the sea upon her request and gets its attention in the process.

  Han?

First appearance: Chapter 18 (in trial only)

The headmaster at the orphanage where Kristian and Katrina grew up. He is poorly qualified as an authority figure and Malwine hates his name for its spelling.

  ‘The Magister’

First appearance: Chapter 18 (in trial only)

A visitor to the orphanage intent on discovering the fate of an item. For some unknown reason, interacting with him breaks Malwine’s hold over the trial.

  ‘Teach’

First appearance: Chapter 20 (in trial only)

A masked woman who lectures Malwine on {Foresight}’s difficulties when she runs the trial for OBeryl. She has something against seafarers but copies their nicknaming customs anyway.

Inquisitor Flōsblome of the Court of Unfathomable Futures

  First appearance: Interlude - Sibyl

  Beryl Rīsanin’s least favorite person.

  Unknown Sibyl

Indeed a sibyl, who is currently intent on chasing Veit for reasons unknown.

  Eylo

A vexing entity obsessed with the intricacies of Existence and with pushing its limits. They are suspiciously aware of the spaceship incident.

  Sáinz

  First appearance: Chapter 8

As Malwine would have definitely put it back when she saw her name in a random book with no further context: who the fuck is Sáinz?

  Theodosius fon Grēd?cava

First appearance: Interlude - Devils and Saints

A frustrated gifted child who would rather potentially destabilize the country than express his feelings in a healthy way.
