Selenes Visit

“Dreams about a wolf?” I repeated. Well, yeah. I have been dreaming about a wolf for over a month now, but do I want to admit it to them? Selene wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t important. “You could say that.”

Selene narrowed her eyes on me. “Elaborate, please.”

“Over a month ago, I started feeling claustrophobic from living in a big city. I ran to the nearest park in the hopes of calming myself. I curled up into a ball under an oak tree and sort of blacked out. It was the first time that I experienced being or seeing a wolf’s life. I awoke minutes later with a calm that I had never had during my anxiety attacks.” Words spilled out of my mouth before I could stop them. “Almost every night since then I dream of seeing through the black wolf’s eyes.”

Felicity looked shocked at my confession while Selene seemed impressed by it. Selene grinned at me. “Your bond with the wolf spirit started before I met you. That has never happened before with the other twenty-three candidates who attempted my trial.”

This had never happened? Great. I am weird among the mythical creatures too. “In the dreams, I see through the wolf’s eyes and hear her thoughts. Normal animals aren’t like that right?”

“Well, only animals connected to mythical creatures can convey what you perceive as human emotions. Likely, the wolf is connected to Artemis, Leto, or me. We all have our own stories that connect us with wolves. We would call this wolf a spirit wolf, which is what you need.” Selene hummed as she explained this weird wolf to me. “Werewolves are humans and spirit wolves that share one body that can shift forms because of my magic.”

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

“So, why am I having these dreams?” I shifted in the bed trying to sit up taller. The dimly lit room seemed bright to me as I looked upon Selene who was just looking down at me with a fascinated look.

“Well, child, you have met your wolf spirit in your dreams. Now, you two need to find each other and form a strong bond before the next full moon.” Selene answered.

Felicity cut in. “What happens during the next full moon?”

Selene sighed, “That depends on Korinne and this wolf. Korinne will continue to become more…wild as the magic continues to flow through her. Only if Korinne and the wolf bond will Korinne achieve a state of balance under the light of a full moon.”

“This shit gets worse?” I mumbled in shock. Yep, not a human anymore.

Selene nodded. “In fact, your instincts will eventually override your human nature, causing you to enter a feral state.”

“So, I am becoming a monster…” My head hung low. This wasn’t what I wanted out of life. Who would willingly become a monster? I rubbed my temples to keep a headache from forming. The only people who become something like this are those born into it like I am.

“Why do you think you are a monster?” Selene asked.

I couldn’t help but glare at Selene. “You just said I could become feral! What am I supposed to think?”

Selene sighed. “I think you need to read that book to understand everything, Korinne. You are more than a human, and you are more than a monster.” She gracefully stood up from the bed and looked down at me. “Once you heal, Kalia will help find the wolf.:” I nodded. “Min, please help Korinne to get back on her feet quickly.” Min agreed to Selene’s request. Selene turned towards Felicity. “Human, please watch over Korinne.”

“Um…Yeah. Of course.” Felicity said, surprised.
