Samuel had just left and Anya was with Faesol at the backyard. Anya was trying to learn how to use moves or attacks, with Faesol giving limited guidance to her as she herself didn't really know either how to do it.
"This is difficult..." Anya stated
"I feel that your aura is incorrect?" Faesol answered puzzled
"Again this aura thing? Samuel said that the aura is only used as a defensive barrier"
"No" she shook her head "Aura is everything" said the Espeon while trying to lift a fist sized stone with her physic powers, only managing to make it vibrate.
"So you can feel aura?"
"Yes? I told you about what happened in the forest, your aura should be so much stronger" The stone left the ground for a moment, before becoming motionless yet again. Faesol's breath was getting more and more rugged as she continued her practice.
"Like... how?"
"Maybe intent? like you said before or emotions?"
"Using want instead of will?"
The two continued to banter for the whole morning, Anya made no progress but was determined to continue and Faesol was exhausted from her own training and napped on the sofa afterwards.

PoV: Samuel
Finally arriving at my training place at the victory road with the help of Dragonite. I released my whole team. I was greeted with Nidoking, my first ever Pokémon and my trusty partner.
Next out was Tauros, he looked around and saw their familiar place, he huffed at me and took off, laying in a shade under a nearby tree.
Exeggutor, Arcanine, Alakazam and Gyarados followed soon after.
"Hey guys, You know how it is right now. We are no longer at the top."
"That still doesn't mean we can skip training, I have scheduled a friendly match with a promising elite contender who goes with the name Aloe"
"The battle is going to be 5 on 5, no switches"
"From my knowledge her team consists of six Grass-type Pokémon, those are a Venusaur, an Exeggutor, a Victreebel, a Tangrowth, a Meganium and her last Pokémon has been registered but she hasn't been using it so I have no idea what it is."
"Her strategy centers around continuously keeping sunny day up, which boosts her Pokémon quite heavily, so it is going to be a tough battle"
"We will be going to battle with a decent advantage as our team does not have too much type-weakness towards grass or poison."
I looked at the Exeggutor and said while glancing at the others.
"Exeggutor, I believe you will most likely have to sit this one out. Your vulnerability to poison might jeopardize this battle, but you still might be called to the field to replace either Tauros or Nidoking." I said loud enought that all of the pokemon in question should have heard him.
"Now, Who is up to some training and mock battles!" I cheered afterwards.

PoV: Anya
My mind still wandering to what Faesol said, her talking about my strong aura is very concerning. Why can't I feel aura? Even a young Pokémon like Faesol could? Even if technically I am less than a year old myself...
*Knock Knock Knock*
Someone is at the door? Better check it out. I opened the door and was greeted by a person that I did not recognize. He wore a brown long coat with a red scarf wrapped around his neck, carrying a brown briefcase.
He was surprised to see me open the door, expecting it to be Samuel, but quickly composed himself and asked.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
"Hello, is Professor Samuel Oak here?"
I shook my head and gave him a piece of paper I had prepared beforehand for any situation asking if I knew where he was.
The man looked at the paper and hmmned before opening his mouth again.
"Interesting script, it looks like a simplified version of the Unown one. But according to this letter, the professor is out for a long meeting"
I simply nodded
"He knew, I was coming to visit..." The man muttered.
So Samuel had left early to avoid meeting with this person? I tilted my head and chirped "Please explain yourself" knowing too well that he could not understand me.
"Oh, right" He said noticing me again "Where are my manners, My name is Kurt and I make poke balls for a living. Not those standard ones either."
My interest level skyrocketed, I had always wanted to know how they worked. Maybe I could trade with him.
I motioned for him to get inside.
"I'm here to meet Sam, it would be rude to enter someone's house without the owners permission"
A thought entered my mind and I showed him the poke ball wrapped around my neck in hopes of him recognizing his own design.
He looked at the great ball that was next to a normal poke ball for Faesol. His eyes widened as he noticed that the great ball was unoccupied and did not have any Pokémon registered to it.
Somehow I managed to convince him to stay as I closed the door after allowing Kurt to enter.
Faesol curiously peeked around the corner, wondering what had happened before going back to the sofa. She deemed it to be nothing I guess.
"The place is cleaner that I thought?" Kurt said and I sighed knowing all too well what he meant.
"Last time I was here... It was terrible"
I sat down at the typewriter and started typing away, the rhythmic clacking caught Kurt's attention and he looked at me.
'HELLO, MY NAME IS ANYA AND THE ESPEON ON THE SOFA IS FAESOL'
'WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WHERE I AM UNABLE TO BE CAUGHT'
'AND MOST LIKELY SAMUEL THOUGHT THAT YOU COULD HELP RECOGNIZING THE'
'PROBLEM OR AT LEAST CONFIRM THE FACTS'
'I WAS CAUGHT BY SAMUEL ONCE, ONE DAY THE POKEBALL JUST BROKE'
'WE HAVE TRIED TO RECAPTURE ME BUT THE POKEBALLS SHOW NO REACTION'
'EVEN THE GREATBALL DID NOT WORK ON ME'
I tried to give the paper to Kurt, whose mouth was comically open and his mind has stopped.
"Y-Y-Y-Y-Yo-you" he stammered out, I waved the paper around in front of his face. I remembered something, Not everyone knew I was smart and super intelligent for a Pokémon.
I sighed, this was going to take a while it seems.

PoV: Standard
When Kurt's mind had finally caught up, he took the offered paper and read it through. He carefully read the paper and put it on the table.
"So, you are the reason why he wanted a better poke ball?"
Anya shrugged, she didn't know that Samuel had commissioned a poke ball just for her.
"Might I see, what the problem is?" Anya nodded and took the great ball. She primed it for capture and tapped it on her forehead... Nothing happened.
Kurt just hmmnd again and was deep in thought. He opened the briefcase he had with him and took out a pure white poke ball that had a red and black stripe along both edges.
He said "If you don't mind, this is a poke ball made for a diagnostic, it doesn't capture Pokémon but scan their energy readings which standard poke balls use to recognize if the target is a Pokémon and not a human.
Anya was surprised that Kurt had casually explained how the poke balls recognize Pokémon, it was something that Anya had always wanted to know.
Kurt patiently waited for something and Anya wondered why he wasn't just doing the diagnostic or whatever it was. Then it hit her, Kurt was waiting for her permission. She then nodded at Kurt and offered her cutter.
Kurt tapped the diagnostic ball to Anya's cutter and waited for a while. "Interesting" he said while looking at the white ball "Can you call the Espeon over there, I need to make sure of something"
"Faesol, come here for a moment will you" Anya called, she soon heard her happy reply "Okay!"
The Espeon strutted over to them and skillfully jumped on top of the table. Anya explained what was about to happen and Faesol just nodded, seeing no harm in it and offered her paw.
"Here goes" said Kurt, he tapped the ball on Faesol's paw. This time the black stripe lighted up a bit.
"It works, on her at least. Thank you, you may go now"
"Does this mean you do not release any excess energy?" Kurt asked her. Anya shrugged she didn't really know.
"hmm, There is one similar case from before" he said
"It happened because of a wild Typhlosion had used an attack to spend the energy from the defensive energy barrier, causing it to become the first ever typeless Pokémon recorded, even if it was temporary"
"This seems to be like that case too, You said you were captured at one point right?" to which Anya nodded.
"The poke ball is designed to break when the captured Pokémon's energy signature is completely gone for at least 24 hours... This means that using a move like the Typhlosion had should not cause the poke ball to break as it can restore the energy after some rest."
"For you though this situation is quite problematic. I am not an expert on Pokémon but I believe you might have overexerted your own energies at one point over a long period of time" He said. Causing Anya's mind to wander back into the forest, if Faesol and the Ninetales were to be believed she might have unconsciously been releasing her energy through the whole winter. Which might explain her lack of aura.
"Well that is everything I can do to help you right now" said Kurt
"My tip is to try using your energy to stimulate your defensive energies to become active again." he said while packing everything he had inside the briefcase again.
"It was nice to meet you and I hope you a speedy recovery" He said while quickly leaving through the door.
Anya stood silent in the kitchen.
'It seems like I need to train real hard...' she thought 'But now, food'
