After hiding away from the wave the skeletons started to separate in to different groups trying to absorb ambient mana to continue their existence the ashy gray skeletons stayed together in their own group seemingly having an easier time with absorbing mana.
as the groups started to sperate only the weakest of skeletons, that weren't destroyed from the storm, stayed together. their body's covered with cracks and having a poor time with collecting mana.
the group stayed by one of the walls pacing back and forth against it one of the smaller skeletons started to claw at the wall and overtime from its persistence the wall gave way to a small tunnel then a surge of mana washed through the cavern and the smaller skeleton feeling the mana started down the tunnel
as it wandered down the tunnel more and more crystals started to become more apparent and in larger clusters as the skeleton moved forward the tunnel gradually became bigger and lighter.

by constantly moving the skeleton came a cross a crystal clear underground river teeming with life as glowing moss grows overhead and in-between crystal growths as well as the seemingly young axolotl like creatures playing in the slow river and among the river grass
the skeleton hovered over the water as it crouched down and put its head a bit more towards the river waiting for something to pass by and strike, and as time passed something came closer until it was almost under the skeletons head.
taking advantage of this moment it struck closing its sharp teeth into the axolotl like being piecing it skin, it then trashed around trying to remove its self from the skeletons jaws however this just resulted in throwing the skeletons head up above its body making its blood flow downwards.
when a few drops of this blood reached the mummified heart that laid dormant within its chest, the suddenly all of the skeletons mana raced towards its heart and from the weakness that washed over its body it fell into the river and the young lake serpent escaped its jaws as everything went to black
