  Early morning at the Azur Lane academy everyone has shown up for css, except a certain Sakura Empire Destroyer.

  Team Desteroyer, plus Z23 and Javelin, gather around Laffey's desk.

  "Ayanami's not here." Z23 crosses her arms.

  "Where could have Miss Ayanami gone?" Belchan questions.

  Suddenly all six of their phones vibrate, and they all pull them out to see a message from Ayanami.

  "It's from Ayanami." Kalk states.

  Everyone opens up the message.

  "If I die, the vilgers all die, too." Everyone reads the message.

  The group grows worried.

  "What is that supposed to mean?" Z23 questions.

  "I'll go check Ayanami-chan's room!" Javelin says.

  "Me and Echo will come with!" Belchan says and Javelin nods.

  Javelin, Belchan and Echo arrive outside Ayanami's room.

  Javelin knocks on Ayanami's door. "Ayanami-chan?" She knocks again. "Ayanami-chan!" She knocks again and still gets no response.

  "Is she not in there?" Echo questions as she puts a piece of candy in her mouth.

  Javelin pushes down on the door handle and it opens up. "It's open?" Her, Echo and Belchan walk inside.

  "Miss Ayanami?" Belchan calls out.

  They all look over and find Ayanami ying face down on her bed, the light of the TV shining on her.

  "Ayanami-chan!" Javelin shouts and goes to run over, but falls over.

  Ayanami swiftly sits up and turns to the TV. "I got dizzied!" She grabs the controller. "This game's camera work is shit tier." She ys back down.

  Echo sweat drops and face palms. "We were worried over nothing..."

  "Ayanami-chan?" Javelin calls out.

  Ayanami looks over and spots her freinds. "Javelin, Belchan, Echo..."

  The three walk over, with an grumpy Javelin.

  "So you were talking about a game?!" Javelin nearly shouts. "Geez! Don't send weird messages like that! You scared us with that 'everybody's dying' thing!"

  Javelin shoots up and pats the spots beside. "You're all just in time. This quest is too hard by myself." She holds the controller out towards Javelin.

  "I'm not pying."

  "I don't like these kinds of games." Echo states.

  Belchan waves a hand. "I don't py games."

  Javelin grabs Ayanami's arm. "Come on, we have to get to css." She tries to drag Ayanami away.

  Ayanami flops over. "Real life is a shit-tier game."

  Javelin keeps trying to drag Ayanami. "Don't talk like that!"

  Echo shrugs. "She's not wrong." Belchan elbows her in the ribs.

  Javelin gives up and Ayanami falls off her bed. Javelin kneels down to Ayanami. "Ayanami-chan? Maybe I should've left you alone." She stands up. "Sorry I bothered you. I'll go down myself and tell Niimi."

  The three begin to walk off, but stop as Ayanami grabs onto Javelin's skirt. "I don't like... being alone." Ayanami mutters.

  Javelin gives a confused smile. 'Then what do you want?'

  Echo and Belchan gnce at each other as they take a few steps back.

  Ayanami grabs onto Javelin, and starts pulling on Javelin's skirt more. "Stay with me."

  A blush forms on Javelin's face as she holds onto her skirt. "Ayanami-chan, that's my skirt!"

  Laffey enters the room. "I also came to collect you."

  "Girls! Help me!"

  Ayanami then grabs onto Laffey's coat. "I want you all to py." She starts to kick her leads.

  "So undy like..." Belchan gnces away.

  "Laffey-chan, too?" Javelin questions.

  "That's perfect." Laffey states.

  .

  They all arrive back at css.

  "We're back." Belchan informs.

  Javelin drags Ayanami into the room.

  "There they are." Z23 mutters and she turns around. "Good job. Are you o-" She gasps as she sees Javelin drag Ayanami across the floor.

  "We've brought her here safely." Laffey informs.

  Hobby and Kalk gnce over with questioning looks. Echo just gives them a shoulder shrug.

  "You totally dragged her here." Z23 mutters.

  Laffey walks over to Ayanami. "I am strong." She flexes her fingers.

  Laffey picks Ayanami up by her sides, and throws her into her seat.

  Everyone goes back to their spots.

  "Finally, now we can start learning." Belchan smiles, and Echo groans and face pnts her desk.

  "Ayanami-chan, everybody is here, so you won't ever be alone." Javelin informs.

  Ayanami looks around and spots all the ship-girls in the room. "That's true. So real life is actually a god tier game?"

  "That's right."

  Ayanami puts a hand on her chest. "So I was wrong, then!"

  Z23 nods. "Right, right."

  Ayanami puts her hands together. "I wasn't alone at all!"

  "You're just getting that now?" Echo asks.

  Ayanami plugs a cord into a nearby outlet. "So that's why..." She turns on a console. "From now on..." A monitor starts to load. "I'll py here." She starts to py her video game in the css room.

  "You didn't get it at all!" Z23, Javelin and Echo shouts.

  Belchan sweat drops while chuckling.

  Everyone in the cssroom, minus Z23, Javelin, Echo and Belchan, go over to Ayanami and watch her py.

  "If only she could divert a fraction of that concentration to css." Javelin compins.

  Ayanami turns to everyone and throws a fist up. "Let's all py!"

  Echo pinches the bridge of her nose.

  Z23 props herself up against a wall. "At this rate, the whole css will completely fall apart."

  "What should we do Niimi?" Belchan asks.

  "I don't really like the idea, but maybe we should talk to Akashi."

  "Akashi?" Javelin questions.

  "The scam cat?" Echo asks.

  "Maybe she'll know how to increase a warship's motivation and concentration."

  Z23, Javelin, Echo and Belchan stand outside of Akashi's b. They look up to the rge metal door with a small window, that has electricity shooting off on the other side of it.

  "What could possibly be going on in there?" Javelin questions.

  "We must be careful." Echo states. "Her prices are very unfair, she nearly made Alicorn go broke."

  Belchan nods in agreement.

  Javelin nods and goes to open the door, but it opens up itself. Suddenly a small white cat, wearing officer attire, pops out from the other side.

  Belchan blushes lightly. "So cute."

  "Look at this little one!" Javelin says in excitement. "So cute!" She picks up the cat. "Look, Niimi-chan! Belchan! Echo-chan!" She hugs the cat. "I found this adorable..."

  Javelin looks over to see the other three on the floor being bombarded by cats. Z23 is panicking, along with Echo, but Belchan looks to be in heaven.

  "Help me, Javelin!" Z23 shouts.

  "Stop touching me all over!" Echo shouts.

  "So soooooft~" Belchan giggles as she hugs a couple cats tightly.

  "They're all over them!" Javelin observes.

  "What's with these guys?!" Z23 shouts as the cats climb all over her.

  Javelin starts to panic more as the door opens all the way behind her, revealing the scam cat.

  "Let me expin, nya!" Akashi says.

  "Akashi!"

  Akashi states the group inside and gives them a presentation.

  "These guys officer units, or Meowfficers, nya!" Akashi expins.

  "So their like, Manjuus..." Echo says.

  "Meowfficers?" Javelin questions.

  "That's right, nya!" Akashi starts. "They're robots that assist the commanders."

  The Meowfficer on the table meows a few times.

  Akashi grabs a cat toy. "And if you py with them..." All the Meowfficers run over and try to grab the cat toy. "It makes them happier and stronger, nya."

  "That's so cute!" Javelin smiles and she grabs a yarn ball "There!"

  Javelin tosses the yarn ball and a Meowfficer catches it and bites on it. But then it rools onto its back and grows calm and quiet.

  "Hey, was this catnip?" Javelin questions.

  Akashi rolls on the ground with a happy look. "Suddenly everything is a lot more fun, nya."

  Echo deadpans, Belchan and Javelin watch in shock. Z23 just doesn't seem to really care.

  Akashi realizes what she's doing. "N-No, it's not what you think!" She grabs a cat toy and begins to py with the Meowfficers again. "That was just a suggestion for how to py with them!"

  The other four gnces at each other, without responding.

  "Say something!" Akashi shouts.

  Then a few minutes ter Akashi continues with her presentation. "Meowfficers eat and sleep, so your everyday life will become a lot more fun with them, nya!"

  Javelin picks up a meowfficer. "They seem like a lot of fun. We should take one back with us, Niimi-chan."

  Z23 puts a hand on her chin and thinks for a few seconds. "If they are able to assist the commanders, maybe they can do something about Ayanami, too."

  Echo pokes a Meowfficer on the stomach, and it unches itself onto her face, making Echo panic. Belchan snuggles one to her face as she giggles.

  Z23 continues to mutter. "But I bet Akashi's got some ulterior motive with these."

  Akashi, having heard what Z23 said, starts to cry. "I just wanted to help the fleet. How could you say something like that, nya?"

  All the Meowfficers start to grow sad as well, except the one that's still attached to a screaming Echo's face.

  "No, that's not how I meant it." Z23 cims.

  "Then how did you mean it, nya?" A teary eyed Akashi asks.

  Z23 starts to panic and waves her hands around. "F-Fine, then. Just one, though."

  Akashi smiles. "Thank you for your patronage, nya!" She gives a evil ugh on the inside.

  The four leave the room, while Z23 carries a bag full of supplies and Javelin hugs a Meowfficer. Echo sneezes some cat hair out of her nose, while Belchan pets the Meowfficer in Javelin's arms.

  "Yay!" Javelin cheers.

  "I still feel like she put one over on us somehow." Z23 grumbles.

  They go back to css to see everyone on the floor, dazed, minus Ayanami and Laffey. Kalk and Hobby are sprawled out on the floor with swirls in their eyes. Ayanami crosses out Laffey's name on the chalk board.

  "Ayanami has no enemies!" Ayanami shouts as she throws a hand to the air.

  "The css has completely fallen apart." Z23 says as she feed the Meowfficer milk from a bottle.

  "We were only gone for an hour..." Belchan blinks in surprise.

  "What the fu-" Echo starts.

  "I always knew I was a lone warrior." Ayanami states.

  Javelin quickly turns to Z23. "Niimi-chan, it's time to bring out the Meowfficer!"

  "Right." Z23 looks down at the Meowfficer in her arms.

  The Meowfficer stops drinking and gives Z23 a salute. It hopes out of her arms and onto the floor.

  Laffey notices the cat. "Is that a new challenger?"

  Ayanami gets battle ready. "No matter the opponent, I'll..." She sees the Meowfficer punching the air. "Who is that?"

  The Meowfficer walks over to Ayanami's desk and jumps up on it. It then grabs the controller and starts gaming away.

  Ayanami walks over. "Want to try it?"

  The Meowfficer meows a few times and Ayanami sits down as she picks it up, and puts it in her p. The Meowfficer continues to game.

  Laffey walks over and watches.

  "That's it. You're good." Ayanami compliments.

  "He's got talent." Laffey observes.

  Stars shine in Javelin's eyes. "I didn't know a Meowfficer could do that!" She turns to the others. "Isn't that amazing, girls?"

  "Um, kinda?" Echo raises an eyebrow.

  "They could help everyone get so much work done!" Belchan smiles with stars in her eyes.

  Z23 puts a hand on her chin. "Will this motivate her, though?"

  "With this guy on my side, I can protect the vilge." Ayanami looks down at the cat on her p. "We'll go back to my room and take back the vilge."

  "Eh?" Javelin questions, Echo face palms and Belchan sighs in defeat.

  "That completely backfired." Z23 sighs.
