Chapter 16 USJ Incident (1)

“Yes. However, it is also a power that can kill people easily.” This caused everyone to pause and think in a serious manner. “I am sure, for most of you it is the same too. In this society, quirks are certified and strictly monitored, but please remember that each of you has quirks that can kill someone, with just one mistake.”

“In Aizawa’s physical test, you guys saw your quirk's potential, and in the battle training, you saw the dangers of using your quirks on other human beings. This lesson will be different. Here you will learn to use those dangerous quirks to rescue people. I want you to go home knowing that your powers exist, not just to hurt people but to also save them!” Thirteen took a pause to let the students process the implications of what she said. Then she continued, “That will be all, thank you for listening.”

Everyone was quite enlightened and inspired by this speech. They internally vowed to only use their quirks to save people and thus become great heroes. Shin, though, was half-heartedly listening to this. He understood what she was implying. However, as someone who had killed people, the speech was entirely wasted on him.

Suddenly, Shin noticed a change within his surroundings. He couldn’t exactly pin point what it was but the feeling felt familiar. However, with high mental capabilities, he was quick to recall where he had felt this sensation before. And his widened in realisation. He immediately yelled out a warning, “Watch out, someone is trying to teleport here.”

Promptly, a purple cloud erupted from nothing, just in front of them. This cloud swiftly expanded and people started pouring out from it. Aizawa and Thirteen realising what was happening after processing what Shin had said, immediately got ready to fight.

Aizawa's voice rang out sharply, together with his grim expression left no room for any doubt, "Listen up! These aren't just simulations, neither it is a drill; these are actual villains." He turned to Ida and instructed, "Ida, you're the fastest among us. You need to run and get reinforcements immediately. Don’t waste a second!"

Turning his attention to the rest of the students, his voice grew even more urgent. "Everyone else, find cover and stay out of sight. Prioritize your safety!"

Ida didn’t hesitate for a moment and quickly hurried off to carry out the orders that he was given. The other students, while not fully grasping the seriousness of the situation, couldn’t hide their excitement at the thought of getting into a real fight with real villains.

“We can fight, Aizawa sensei.” Bakugo and Todoroki both showed their enthusiasm, fully ready to jump into battle, ready to show the villains that they made a big mistake trying to invade them.

“Leave some for us to fight.” Kaminari exclaimed as yellow lightening erupted from his body and covered him, “We would like to find out how much we improved from before.”

“We will help you, Sensei,” Ibara declared, as her vine-like hair lengthened in anticipation, “Do not worry about us. We can defend ourselves from them.”

Before Aizawa could even warn them any further, a purple cloud appeared underneath Shin and Momo, who were both standing together. Before they could even react, their entire bodies were covered and they vanished, as the cloud dispersed. The purple cloud again erupted, this time at their side and took on the shape of a humanoid body, “Now that the most dangerous one has been teleported far away, we can start wreaking havoc until All Might arrives.”

Before anyone could fully grasp what was happening, the purple cloud-like figure launched into action. In an instant, they were pulled into a chaotic fight as the figure used its ability to teleport them across various sections of the USJ facility. Scattered and disoriented, each student found themselves in a different location, surrounded by villains waiting to strike.

  …

Shin abruptly found himself falling from the sky after being covered by the purple cloud. He also felt the same strange sensation he had earlier when the villains had suddenly appeared. Putting everything together, Shin realized he had been teleported away from where he was before. He immediately activated Force Manipulation and started to levitate in the air. However, before he could even try to figure out where he was, he heard a scream. Turning toward the sound, he saw Momo falling from the sky as well.

At first, Shin had thought he was the only one teleported, since they had clearly targeted him, probably because they knew he was the strongest. But it seemed she had been warped with him, likely due to her proximity. Though he still didn’t know how they knew he was so powerful, he had one guess: the spy he had suspected to have infiltrated the academy undetected earlier might have leaked the information.

Shin immediately flew towards Momo and caught her in a princess carry. From her expression, she looked extremely relieved by the rescue.

“Are you okay?” Shin muttered quietly, his eyes lingering on the beautiful girl in his arms.

“Yes, thank you so much.” Momo answered with great relief. A small blush crept up on her cheeks as she realised the position she was in, “I…I didn’t know what I would’ve done without you,”

“Good,” Shin smiled. Then he explained to her what might have happened—how the villains had likely targeted him, and how she ended up being thrown here with him. At first, Momo had been a bit worried about her classmates, but when Shin reminded that All Might was probably there as well, since he was supposed to be teaching them, her worries completely faded.

"You look really adorable when you're worried," Shin teased, flashing a playful smile. Momo's cheeks turned fully crimson at his words, and she quickly hid her blushing face behind her hands. Shin smiled and even though he wanted to continue teasing her, he proceeded to first deal with an important matter.

Shin took his phone out of his pocket, dialed a familiar number and called Kenji, the chief of the police force. He described the situation to him and enquired if heading to USJ as backup would be a good idea.

Kenji pointed out Shin’s current location, which was extremely far from USJ, mentioning that the purple cloud had teleported him halfway across Japan. Shin assured Kenji that he could reach USJ in less than half an hour if he travelled at Mach speed, though this would inevitably create shockwaves.

After hesitating briefly, Kenji contacted someone else for approval and returned with permission for Shin to use his quirk in a controlled but seemingly extravagant manner, ensuring he wouldn’t face any legal trouble.

Ending the call, Shin turned his attention back to Momo, who had been quietly listening the entire time, now calmer than earlier. His gaze relaxed as he embraced her in his arms while his eyes kept her lingering on her gorgeous features.

Noticing the silence, Momo glanced up and found herself caught in his expression, the way he smiled at her made her chest tense up, and before she even knew of it, she was simply staring. She couldn’t look away and was fully mesmerized by him. For a moment, it felt as if the world had faded into nothing, leaving only the two of them, who were completely lost in each other.

Shin broke the silence with a soft smile. “Momo,” he began, his voice calm but mixed with something deeper, “Do you remember the first time we met?”

Without breaking any eye contact, Momo nodded. “Of course. As clear as day.”

Shin chuckled lightly. “Well, it hasn’t even been a month, so I’d hoped you would. But even in that short time, you’re the person I’ve spent the most time with.” He hesitated for just a beat before continuing, “Do you know why?”

Momo’s heart skipped a beat, and her gaze paused briefly before meeting his once again. She could sense where this was going and felt a flutter in her stomach. “I don’t know,” she whispered quietly.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

“Because,” Shin said with a slight smile, “from the moment I met you, you completely charmed me. That blush on your face when you were embarrassed… it was so pretty, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I’ve teased you ever since, just to see those expressions again. And you’ve shown me so much more; your smile, your pout, the way your eyes light up when you’re happy. Every time, you stun me.”

“Even now,” he added, his voice softening more, “you’re so lovely that I can’t help but want to keep looking at you. And I’ve realized… I don’t just want to see those expressions. I want to know everything about you; your thoughts, your feelings, your dreams. I want to spend even more time with you.

“Because I like you, Momo. I’ve liked you from the very first day. So…” Shin took a deep breath, his smile turning sincere. “Will you do me the honour of becoming my girlfriend?”

The confession hit her like a bolt of lightning. Momo’s mouth fell open slightly, her eyes widening in disbelief as her mind raced to catch up. When the words finally sank in, she swallowed hard, her cheeks flushed as she locked eyes with him again. Slowly, her lips curved into a bright, genuine smile.

“I like you too, Shin,” she said softly, her voice full of affection and shyness. “I’ve liked you from the very beginning too. At first, it was because you told me my grandpa wanted you to marry me. My grandpa is so strict, I thought that if he approved of you, then you must be someone special.”

“But,” she continued, her smile intensifying, “the more time I spent with you, the more I realized my grandpa was right. It stopped feeling like a small crush and became something deeper. Something I didn’t even know I wanted till now.” She paused, her eyes firm as she concluded, “So yes, Shin. I’d love to be your girlfriend.”

Momo abruptly shifted in Shin’s arms, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. As they flew through the air, she adjusted her position fully trusting Shin to hold her, wrapping her legs around his waist until she was holding onto him fully. Her heart was pounding, but she barely noticed anything else but him.

Their faces were so close now, just inches apart. They locked eyes, their breaths mingling in the quiet moment. Neither said a single word, but everything they were feeling was right there, unspoken. Then, little by little and almost instinctively, they closed the gap.

Their lips met in a tender, electrifying kiss. It started slow and steady, but the passion between them quickly grew, leading to a deep kiss. Instead of pulling away, Momo found herself lost in the pleasure that grew with every touch of their lips. The kiss lasted for a very long while, and when they finally pulled apart, a faint trail of saliva remained between them.

Shin looked at her and smiled. “Let’s stop here. We have somewhere to be.”

Momo nodded shyly and kept holding him closely. Feeling this, Shin took a deep breath and employed Force Manifestation, creating a small, transparent dome around them. He then used Force Manipulation to push them both in a particular direction, and they shot forward at Mach speed toward USJ, leaving shockwaves behind them.

  …

  At UA High,

All Might, currently in his weaker form, was sitting on a sofa and trying to relax while having a serious discussion with Nezu. Well, it was more like Nezu was scolding him.

“You and your habit of saving people!” Nezu shook his head in disappointment. All Might admitted with his head down, “I can’t help it. I’d help anyone I see in need.”

“Yeah, but you have a responsibility as a teacher too,” Nezu pointed out. “Now you’ve exhausted yourself so much that you can’t even show up in front of the students.”

All Might didn’t have any excuse. “I’m sorry. Really. I promise I’ll try my best next time.”

“I’m not telling you to ignore people in need,” Nezu said with frustration. “But can’t you trust your fellow heroes a little more?”

All Might felt wrongly accused and defended himself. “But I do trust them!”

Nezu sighed at this response, “Your actions make it seem otherwise. When you step in to save someone from a normal villain, it looks like you don’t trust them or their abilities. Someone with your power should focus on bigger threats and let others handle the rest. If you don’t trust them, the public won’t either, and they’ll depend only on you.”

All Might looked down, ashamed at this fact.

“Sometimes I wonder,” Nezu continued, “if you had the pragmatism that Shin has, it would really help society as a whole.”

“Yeah, I think I can learn a lot from him,” All Might admitted. “But sparring with him has been exhausting me more than usual. I’m pretty sure today’s exhaustion is because I fought him just yesterday. I don’t think I could fight anyone today without hurting myself even more.”

“Then don’t,” Nezu said firmly. “It’ll only shorten your lifespan more, especially since you’ve already passed your quirk to Midoriya.”

All Might suddenly had a bad feeling. His instincts screamed that something was wrong with the students at USJ. He shared his concern with Nezu, who immediately tried to contact Aizawa and Thirteen, but neither of them answered the call. This only strengthened All Might’s suspicion, and he prepared to head out. Before he could leave, Nezu stopped him and said, “Go in your weaker form, assess the situation first, and only transform if Shin can’t handle it. Understood?”

All Might nodded, agreeing to the plan, and rushed toward USJ. However, already drained from earlier, and mindful of the promise he’d made to Nezu, he had to call an acquaintance to help fly him there.

  ……

In the middle of large lake,

Izuku Midoriya, after being abruptly teleported away, found himself deep underwater. He had to immediately hold his breath and move upwards past activating his quirk. It took him about 30 seconds to reach the top, showing how far down he was in the lake.

After taking a deep breath, he looked around and found Asui, Shihai and Shoda nearby. They grouped up together only to discover multiple villains who were also in the lake, trying to assault them.

Asui, using her elongated tongue, was able to defend them in the water. It also had the reach to attack any villain who came near them. Shoda, with his quirk ‘double impact,’ was effectively making the villains faint after attacking them once. After every villain fainted, Asui used her tongue as a way to throw these unconscious villains onto the nearby land to ensure that they didn’t accidentally kill anyone. Shihai Kuroiro, using the shadows of his opponent, was responsible for crowd control. His method to shift from one shadow to another, made the villains very wary of his attacks.

Izuku, however was not able to fully use his power inside the lake. So, he requested Asui to throw him in the air, which she promptly did without a bit hesitation. Subsequently, Asui immediately wrapped her tongue around Shoda, ready for the impact. Kuroiro also merged with the shadow of Asui, knowing what was to happen. Izuku, in the air, used an upward kick to propel him downwards, and just before he landed inside the water, he punched swiftly amping up his quirk to 50% for just a second.

This heavy strike created a solid hole in the water, causing a huge whirlpool, dragging the villains with it and drowning them. Afterwards, Asui performed her job of throwing them out of the water.

After ensuring that all the villains were soundly defeated, Izuku and the rest, gathered on a nearby land. He suggested to them that they should go back to the place where Aizawa Sensei was battling. He subsequently shared with them that before he had been teleported, he accidently heard that the villains had a weapon to confidently defeat All Might. In fact, it was their very purpose to come here in the first place. Izuku, being the worrywart he was, wanted to go help All Might when he arrives.

This proposal was easily agreed to by Shoda and Kuroiro, though Asui showed a slight disagreement. Her argument was that they should leave such matter to the real heroes and instead stay away to not be a burden. However, she later hesitantly agreed to the suggestion after some convincing from the Izuku, Kuroiro and Shoda. Still, she put forth a condition that if anyone gets hurt, they would all immediately back up and focus on helping that person rather than battling the villains.

  …

  Atop a mountain range,

The moment Todoroki was teleported, he activated his freeze quirk and froze the entire terrain where he landed. This included some of the villains who were ready to ambush him. He approached them and extracted some information out of them about the weapon that would defeat All Might. Then, he heard some explosions towards the other side. He guessed it was Bakugo and went there to reinforce, if needed.

Bakugo and Kirishima were battling a huge number of villains. Bakugo was the main fighter, with Kirishima focused on defence. Toru was focused fully on sneak attacks using her invisibility quirk. However, there was one difference and it was that Toru had recently learned to fully control her quirk after Shin's advice. Therefore, she was now wearing a combat suit, which was designed for her quirk. This allowed her to battle with confidence, without fearing someone touching her privates without them knowing. After they were done, they met up with Todoroki, who shared the information he collected.

  …

In a small town filled with wreckage,

Setsuna, Mina, Jiro, Kaminari, and Sero found themselves together after the cloud villain warped them away. They quickly gathered themselves and began to fight under Setsuna's direction. She used her teammates' quirks in the most effective way possible, helping them take down villains one by one.

Villains thus tried to target Setsuna solely, but their attacks only caused her to split into parts, making their strikes ineffective. Her quirk allowed her to absorb some of the attacks, acting as a buffer for the team, and her regeneration helped her recover quickly, keeping her and her teammates safe.

Sero used his tapes to trip the villains, and at times, he pulled them closer to make it easier for his teammates to attack. Jiro controlled the crowd with her soundwaves, preventing enemies from getting too close. Kaminari became a human taser, electrocuting anyone who touched him. Mina used her acids to create distractions and occasionally attacked the villains directly.

The team worked well together, finishing the fight quickly and without anyone getting hurt.
