"I expin!"
The moment Obadiah saw the photos, he already had his excuse ready.
He kony's bottom line well.
Over the years, he had subtly suggested expanding the sales of Stark Industries' ons to other markets.
In other words, broadening the er base to make more money.
But Tony had always firmly refused.
This had left Obadiah dissatisfied, though not enough to openly rebel. Behind Tony's back, he had sold ons to ts in the Middle East and to Oscorp.
Who could have expected things to blow up so quickly?
"Tony, you know me. I'm your parents' friend—not just a business partner, but a true friend."
"Your father passed away early, and I've watched you grow up. I know your character. I've spent more time with you than with my own son."
"If it's something you don't want to do, I won't touch it."
Obadiah started with aional appeal, calming Tony down before tinuing:
"Stark Industries has been in a long-term partnership with Oscorp. A while back, their people wao study military teology. I didn't think much of it and gave them some samples."
"Such a horrifit was beyond my expectations."
"Tony, I promise you, nothing like this will happen again."
Tony Stark sighed, regaining his posure.
"I'm sorry. I overreacted."
"From now on, terminate all cooperation with Oscorp. I want to personally review every ons sale."
Obadiah was taken abad quickly waved his hands.
"No, that's not necessary."
"Let's keep things the way they were. You hahe iions, and I'll hahe sales. We'll stick to our roles and push the pany to greater heights."
Tony poured himself a gss of red wine.
"Right, we'll keep it that way. But I'll be cheg the sales records."
"Don't overthink it. I've got a date tonight. Want to join? I introduce you to a stunning model. Whether you seal the deal is up to you."
"I think you've got a good shot. After all, you're the sed-in-and at Stark Industries."
Obadiah forced a bitter smile.
"No, no. Dating is for the young. I'm too old for that."
"Suit yourself." Tony downed his wine ahe office.
Bang!
Obadiah smmed his fist on the desk.
"Sed-in-and?"
"Tony, you're f my hand."
"You have the most brilliant mind, yet you keep getting in the way of profit. When your father died, I could've takehe pany."
"Even now, I still ."
Obadiah immediately made a call.
"It's me. In a few days, I'll arrange for him to visit a military base. Make sure he doesn't e back alive."
…
Meanwhile, in Queens, at the Parker household.
Uncle Ben had just walked in, taking off his coat, and saw Peter sitting on the couch.
"Peter, what's going on?"
"I had to take half a day off. I'll probably lose my perfect attendance bonus this month."
Peter smiled.
"Then just quit the job."
"By the way, Uncle Ben, it's been a long time since you and Aunt May went on a trip. Why not take one now?"
Uncle Ben looked at Peter, fused, then at May.
"Did this kid take the wrong medie or something?"
Aunt May shook her head.
"I don't know. He's been like this since he got back."
Peter motioned for them to sit down and then pulled out a bank card.
"What's this?"
"My schorship."
Uncle Ben looked at Peter with pride.
"I'm so proud of you, Peter! You've done really well."
"But this money is yours. Keep it for your college tuition."
Both Uncle Ben and Aunt May were proud but didn't think much of it.
After all, in their minds, school schorships weren't worth much.
Peter chuckled.
"This money is enough to support our family for a long time. And by the time it runs out, I'll have earned even more."
"So, Peter, how much is in the card?"
"A million dolrs!"
"Oh, a million dolrs."
"Wait, what?!!!"
The usually calm Uncle Ben was anything but calm now.
He stared at Peter in shock.
"Peter, how… how is this possible?!"
Aunt May was equally stunned. She had never heard of a school giving out a million-dolr schorship!
In her shock, she even worried that Peter might have gotten involved in something illegal!!!
"It's real!"
"It's a special grant from Stark Industries for outstanding students. A kind of iive!"
Uncle Ben immediately pulled out his phone. He still couldn't believe such a windfall ossible.
After calling the principal of Midtown Tech High, he finally accepted Peter's expnation.
But it was still hard to his head around.
A million dolrs!
That was an unimaginable amount of money!!!
Uncle Ben sat dowo Peter, his face a mix of pride and siy.
"I'm sorry, Peter. I shouldn't have doubted you."
"But this is just too unbelievable."
"Uncle Ben, o apologize. Instead of apologizing, let's think about something more important."
"What's that?"
"How to spend this money!"
