  "Orleans to Vale... a 3 hour jour most... and it's not like the pilot is rushing..." he talks to himself before he looks out of the windows.

  Usually a Journey from Orleans to Vale would take half a day, but that is only if they use a ercial public bullhead rather than Ozpin's personal bullhead.. well as personal as a vehicle owned by an institution of hunters could be.

  The different in size betweewo a also helps, with the smaller bullhead being able to fly faster and all that aerodynamic bullshit.

  A beowolf then tried to bite his head off but he quickly moves his head away before he grab its jaw and force it wide open and tear it apart. "RAAAAAAGH! Get out of my way!"

  Miles then grab his greatsword and split an Ursa into two as it charged at him. "DAD!"

  He see that beyond this hordes upon hordes of grimm is a battle that only one word e to mind to describe it... 'catastrophic'...

  He see the Maiden's elemental magic raging about, hear the ringing sound of swords g against steels and the thudding sound of a shield defending what could only e from the sound of His father's shield!

  'What the fuck is happening in VACUO!'

  Miles then jump high up in the air in an effort to jump over the hordes of grimms but he got intercepted as a nevermore is trying to dive bomb on him "Fuck off!" He used the side of his greatsword as hammer to bat away the nevermore but unfortunately for him, another nevermore e diving down on him and bring him back down to the ground with a crash.

  He tried to quickly get up but his is unched away as a boarbatusk smashed into him.

  With a loud crash, Miles's body hit the side of an upturn Boulder from god knows where because of how chaotic the whole pce had bee.

  'Probably from the Maiden....' in the back of his mihinks to himself.

  When Miles mao stand up again, he wiped away a sweat of his forehead because of the hit he took.. Aura maybe could make someone as close as they could get to being imperable, but with a strong enough impact it could leave bruises and minor Injuries.. why is he thinking about this? Well he very well feel his body having bruises that wasn't there before.. and it hurt like absolute hell sidering that Aura doesn't do shit with the sensation of the immediate pain that es from whatever the fuck hit you.

  Miles used his greatsword to steady himself as he look at the once again, charging boarbatusk. "What... the... fuck... a boarbatusk? We're in Vacuo for fucks sake.. they're not supposed to be here!"

  When the Boarbatusk is meters away from him, Miles quickly jump to the side and Stab the side of the Boarbatusk letting its own velocity to do its job as his swlide through its body and killing it in the process.

  Miles then look around to unfortunately see the hundreds of grimms infront of him but fortuhe grimms that is too close to the main battle is dying in the hands of the stray attacks from the Maiden, slowly l the number down because he don't think that he would survive fighting so many grimm.. he already lost 40 pert of his Aura which if you think about it is insane! Mile's aura is basically a 3 to 4 hunters worth of Aura... if he wasn't an Arc then he would already be dead by now from being uo to shit without any Aura to protect him.

  "How the fuck did all of this happen!?" Miles grit his teeth because he isn't wrong to pin or eveion this situation, it all started like every average mission with his dad when it e to esc or proteg the Maiden.

  Miles is trusted enough courtesy of his father, to join the young headmaster Ozpin's inner circle.. it was a sho that Ozpin turn out that Ozpin isn't young by a mile... his body may be young but his soul isn't.... which made sense sidering how the fuck he could bee the you headmaster at the age of 29 Years old! John expin it to him in further details about how ozpin is cursed eith immortality and is reinated everytime he die, and how Ozpin previous reination was John's professor in bea too.

  It took a lot of ving from John for Miles to not tell Luna about the whole shit show, because sidering that Luna regnant with Saphron at the time... he 't exactly give his wife more responsibility than necessary.. what is necessary you may ask? The fug baby you stupood!!

  But yeah.. usually when he and his father go on this type of missions, which ranges from proteg the Maiden (not that the Maiden really needs it.. but sidering what's after them then.. yeah.. its better to be safe than sorry.) to find a new Maiden whenever Ozpihe news of a Maiden dying.. that type of Mission usually is handled by Qrow sidering that Miles couldn't really go for that long with Luna being pregnant and all. But the first type of mission at most only goes on for a few days or a week..

  But the secret that Miles is most scared of to tell to Luna is... is about the grimm queen.. Ozpin called her Salem.. a grimm queen that had 'lived' for as long as him.. Ozpin told them that he mao almost Kill Salem a few times in the past so it gives him and probably the rest of the inner circle a few fmes of hope...

  Cause what else they do if not hope? sidering that Ozpin or whatever his real name was, had been in the fight lohan all of their numbers of Years alive bined, so if Ozpin himself hope to kill Salem then that meant they have a ce at winning this ungodly amount of years worth of battle.

  The missions start as normal as it could be with him and his father flying on a bullhead to Vacuo, well not Vacuo per say.. but as close to Vacuo's border as they get to not attray.. unwanted eyes before they use an off road to drive to the Maiden's location.

  A couple of years ago when Miles first met the fall Maiden, Anbar collins, he was a little shock to see just how... old she was.. she was only a year Youhan his father.. he expected someone younger but who could bme him? With title as Maiden, he expected to meet a fug 14 years old.. not a 50 year old woman..

  (AN: Anbar is the Arabian name for amber, In this Au Vacuo is the equivalent to Middle easter/Arabic try here oh.. I'll expin more in the AN at the end of the chapter.)

  Well when they meet the Maiden she looks alright, no wounds or any visible injuries, and she alongside his dad starts to talk like they are an old friend or some shit.

  sidering just about how long his father and her had known each other, he wouldn't be suprised if they are actually more than old friends... he actually feel a little happy for his father, his mother had died giving birth to him.. his father deserve to feel romantic love again after everything he had gohrough, raising a child like Miles as a siher isn't... isn't an easy Job... take into sideration that John is also a full time huhen.. yeah... Miles still remember his early childhood being ontop of his father's shoulder as his father showed him how to hunt a grimm..

  That memories alongside the memories of how his father sometime bring him along to join him on some of his easier jobs had beiles's fo childhood memories....

  After a few days of guarding the Fall Maiden, Miles thinks that its going to be another easy mission so he decided to get out of the inhey are currently staying and grab a few beers for the three of them.. he didn't expect a big ass sand duo explode and rain sands all over the small town and starts to spews out grimms like There's no end in sight.

  Miles had fought at least for 30 minutes before he feel the sands start to shake like crazy as the Fall Maiden starts to use her magic.

  He knows that something is wrong because if Anbar is using her magic then something had gone absolutely wrong.

  And now we are bailes as he is fighting the grimms as best as he but he is losing slowly but surely because of the ungodly amount of grimm.

  This isn't a battle he win by attrition sidering that the amount of grimms with eat him alive! He o get risky! Because if he didn't then he would die!

  Miles bring up his greatsword as high as he before he brings it down with a mighty swing! "AURA BURST!"

  As Miles used his Sembnce, he easily killed the grimm infront of him and the Aura crest made out of Aura es out of his sword and slices through multiple grimms as it fly through the air.

  "You're all done now, you FUCKTARDS!" He put his sword at his side before he swing his body around to slice his sword around him in a circle. "AURA BURST!"

  He used his Sembnce again and the Aura crests fly around him and slig and dig the grimms around him with ease.

  Miles ot do this forever because each this forever, each use of his Sembakes about 5 pert out of his Aura with each use, there are 2 ways to use his Sembnce, first is to activating his Sembo make his body be infused with Aura and expelling it in an instant, basically giving him a huge physical boost for a few seds.

  The sed way that he use His Sembnce is by infusing his on and only his on with his Aura and expelling it with an attack, it work best with a sword as it throw a crest made out of his Aura into the air and slig his targets with ease.

  That is why he is called 'the Sword Of Orlean' when he was 19 Years old, he protected orleans a horde of grimm alone while his dad and the hunter's are away to help with the mountain Glenn i. He had fought and killed so many grimm that day that he bee one of the coastal Town most beloved people.

  Luna who is in Also in Orlean at the time because she is Miles's teammate/girlfriend also pyed a huge roles in the fight by healing everyone she with her Sembnce, earnihe titles of 'the saint of Orleans'.

  Without her that day, Miles would had died from his wounds.... a week ter well... that is hohron came to be... what he say? He must thank his savior in one way or another...

  Enough about Miles having the horizontal tango with Luna, right now Miles is fighting for his life and spamming Aura BURST.

  "AURA BURST!"

  Miles starts to pants heavily because he doesn't need his scroll to see that his Aura is at its critical red limit.. he didn't notice it but Anbar's magic is nowhere insight anymore but thankfully he killed the majority of the Grimm making it so that he could finally see his dad and Anbar...

  Anbar is lying down on the sand with blood all over her because of a wound straight down her chest..

  How the fuck did someo her! She used magic!

  "Anba-" Miles got cut off as the dust fully cleared and he see clearly....

  What......

  What the fuck is that....

  What he sees is something that es out straight out of his nightmare..

  A knight... a Knight that wears a full armor made out of what could only be Shadow itself.. its armor emits a cloudy dark smoke.. and it's Sword is bone white with red running down its fuller...

  And that sword.. IT IS STABBING THROUGH HIS FATHER'S CHEST!

  "DAD! HOW DARE YOU! YOU FUG BASTARD!" Miles Rushed to what his mind could only think of as a grimm knight.

  Whe close enough, Miles jump high up in the air with his greatsword above his head.

  He trated his Sembo both his body and sword and prepare to unleash the most powerful attack he had ever used, not g how this will break his bones and shred his muscles because a human body isn't meant to hahis kind of power. "AURA BURST!!!"

  A normal Aura Burst could cut through steel walls with ease.. this attack that Miles prepare to unleash on the grimm knight is unfathomable in power, an attack that rival the likes of a maiden's magic.

  WITH A TITANIC SWING OF THE GREATSWORD, THE SWORD E WITH A SUCH FORCE THAT COULD FLATTEN HILLS!

  Miles eyes widen in horror as his sword is stopped by the knight with a simple block with the Gau on it's free arm, shattering his greatsword in two.

  "What?" The word es out of Miles mouth out of horror and fusion because how.... that blow left miles with only 2% of Aura left... he used 23% of his Aura oack! He could feel his bones screaming in pain from the repercussion of overdriving his sembo the point of breaking his bones.

  JUST HOW COULD THIS THING STOPPED IT WITH SUCH EASE?!? That what is screaming inside of His head.

  The grimm knight didn't even aowledge Miles as it tio stare at John who is impaled by his sword.

  "??'?? ??? ??m, P?ē??????." The grimm knight then swing his sword that is still impaling John and unch John's body away, the wind force from it's swing also Launched Miles away.

  Miles nded with a roll before he e to a stopped.

  "Fuckers...." he gred at the Grimm Knight aried to stand up as he watched the Grimm Knight walks away into the distance.

  "You... BASTARD! DON'T YOU RUN AWAY YOU STUPID FUCK!" Whatever happen, Miles promised to himself that The Grimm Knight will die! No matter what! "I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL FUG KILL YOU!"

  Just as Miles is about to chase after the Grimm Knight, he is stopped as he hear the sound of His father's voice. "My.... boy...."

  Miles quickly turn around and and stagger to his father. "DAD!" Please don't do this to him.. please don't let his father die!

  'Not him! Please! Not my father!' Miles then crumpled to the ground.

  with his fading strength, Miles start to crawl on all four to his father until he reaches him.

  "DAD! Please! Don't leave me!" He gently grab his father's head and put it on his knees.

  "M....miles...." Miles then put his ears as close to his father's mouth to listen to what he wished to be a word of reassurahat his father won't die and they would e bae.

  "Miles... promise.. me... that... you.... you'll live...." miles's eyes widen before he turn his head to look at his father's face.

  "Please.. dad.. don't leave me... you told me that you want to see Artoria... please!" He starts to plead to his dad but with each word that es out of his mouth

  "Please! I Promise to be a better son! Please! DON'T LEAVE ME, DAD!" Miles hugged his father's body that is slowly going colder and colder in an effort to magically bring him to life by giving him some heat.... but.... its... but its already over...

  John had died at the age of 54 Years old, in the embrace of his only child.
