Tom let out a breath as he received the notification that the demon was dead. They had won; they had a guild building and a settlement. Hopkins was theirs.

DING!!!
Tom watched as a white eight-sided crystal the size of his head formed over the demon's corpse. Scrambling up the demon lord's dead body, Tom reached out and grabbed the settlement seed.
They had done it. They had a home—a base.
"That was fucking awesome!!" Abbadon roared as he held up the Demon lord's severed head.
"You died." Tom pointed out bluntly.
"I got better," Abbadon countered. "No, I got better than better. I got [Second Stage]."
"I noticed. Thanks for giving me a panic attack. By the way, I was worried you'd died. Nice pick, by the way." Tom said
[Second Stage] was one of those skills that seemed designed to piss people off. It resurrected a person after they died and then doubled your attributes. It was a pain in the ass to deal with as killing your opponent became little more than the warm-up. Unfortunately, it also meant Abbadon had to give up the only two skills in the entire game that could restore his stamina.
"Skippy, could you go and bring Chloe and the rest of them in … skippy?" Tom looked around, finding Skippy passed out on the floor. Tom quickly checked the party interface as he dumped another healing spell on his friends. Fortunately, he wasn't injured. His stamina had just bottomed out. He let out a sigh of relief before getting annoyed.
"God dammit skippy. Alex!!" He called out.
"What?!" she called back down to them from up on the second floor.
"I need you to go and get Chloe and bring her in!!!" he called up to her.
"On it!!" she called down as she raced off to the front door.
"Abbadon, take care of Skippy. I'm going to set up the base."
Abbadon slung Skippy's unconscious body over his shoulder as Tom activated the settlement seed.
DING!!!
Tom typed in the name Awoken Myths without a second thought before adding everyone in his party, including Chloe, as part of the faction. He placed himself as the Primary Administrator and gave admin rights to Alex, Skippy and Abbadon. They wouldn't be playing around with this stuff as much as he would be, but that was fine.
DING!!!
DING!!!
DING!!!
Tom immediately selected yes and got to work, giving their new home the bare minimum amount of upgrades.
DING!!!
Tom sighed as his settlement points dropped to zero, but that was fine. When the settlement reached level 2, he would get another hundred settlement points, and he could make more modifications. However, his settlement would need to have at least 200 people, and without the in-game NPCs, he wasn't sure how long that would take.
Taking another moment, he assigned the rest of his levels.

DING!!!
DING!!!
"TTTOOOOMM!" Chloe screamed like a hurricane as she ran up to the corpse of the demon lord to give him a tackle hug.
"Oof," Tom felt his breath leave him as Chloe slammed into him, pressing into him as she hugged him.
"Hey, peanut," Tom said as he hugged his little sister.
"Too loud," Skippy moaned as he woke up.
Lucy, Betty, and Alex followed in. Lucy looked a little skittish but fine.
"Did you guys kill this monster?" Chloe whispered as if they were not standing on the demon's corpse.
"It's a demon, and yes, we killed it," Tom said. "Skippy, could you stick all this stuff into your inventory"
Skippy shrugged, touched the demon lord's severed head and dumped it into his inventory.
"Is it safe?" Betty asked as she started with wide eyes at the carnage.
"It's perfectly safe. So Tom, what do we do now?" Alex asked.
"We should set up our rooms. A bed sounds really nice right now. We could unload all of Alex's stuff and set up some living quarters. As for the settlement, we have enough points to activate the beacon and draw in some more players. But before that, I got a couple of items from the tutorial. We can set those up, then clear up all the demons."
"Um, I still need to get my bloodline," Abbadon said.
"Which bloodline?" Tom asked.
"Bloodline of the Lesser Hydra," Abbadon said.
Tom considered blowing Abbadon off. He was tired and felt like he could topple over at any moment, but the Lesser Hydra wasn't too hard to deal with. And they really needed all the power they could get.
"Fine, I guess." Tom shrugged. We can knock that out before the end of the day.
Tom could summon a bunch of wild lesser hydra from the nether pretty easily, and it wasn't too high level for their group, as long as none of them got loose.
"Alright, then," Tom said, pulling out his loot from beating the tutorial and adding it to the settlement.
"What's that?" Abbadon asked.
"I got a bunch of settlement seeds from the tutorial. I was originally just going to sell them, but now."
"Hold on, I got some settlement seeds as well," Alex said.
"Same," Skippy said.
Tom watched as they loaded the settlement seed with smaller, colourful crystals, each representing a different reward from the tutorial boss.
DING!!!
"What are settlement templates?" Chloe asked.
"You can create Special rooms or buildings in a settlement," Tom said. Abbadon, where are your settlement seeds?"
"I have no agility or dexterity. How was I supposed to loot a chest in ten seconds?" Abbadon asked.
Tom had to admit that was as good a reason as any.
"Did you guys get anything else?" Tom asked.
"A few skill books, a lot of junk weapons," Skippy said.
"Same," Alex and Abbadon agreed.
"Pretty much the same here." Tom noted as he opened their inventory, "Let's just see what skill books we have: Smith, Alchemist, Enchanter, Farmer, fisherman, another farmer, a cook, a hunter, a crafter, another enchanter, another smith, a jeweller, a gambler, bard, prostitute, and an Arena master skill book. I'll be honest, that's a lot."
"Tom!!" Chloe cut in. "Are we going to live here now?"
"Yes, peanut."
"Does that mean no more TV?" she asked.
Tom blinked. "Why wouldn't you watch any TV?"
"Because we aren't allowed to watch TV at school," Chloe said.
Tom chuckled. " Don't worry, peanut. You can watch TV as soon as we set things up."
"Alex, could you and skippy take Chloe and our guest up to the third floor and start setting things up. Abbadon and I will head out back and grab him a bloodline."
"Sure, come on, pumpkin. We get to set up your new room," Alex said as her magic reached out and took over Tom's levitation spell.
"Really?!" Chloe cheered as Alex took Skippy from Abbadon and walked towards the third floor.
"Are you sure the two of us can beat a lesser hydra?" Abbadon asked. "I don't have anything to stop their regeneration."
"It's fine. I've got enough fireball scrolls to kill at least three lesser hydras," Tom said.
Abbadon shrugged as they turned and headed to the back of the school. Tom sighed as he looked down at his clothes.
"I'm going to need a change of clothes after this," Tom said.
