Chapter 31: The Third Circle – Part 4

  “Let me help you?”

Did the one who has contributed the least help us? Does the kid have a death wish or something? Mejni looked at me and touched his paw on his face. It was a sign that he should not let the boy help out. I took a deep breath, turned to Lol, and saw on his elvish face that he had a unique expression that he wanted to help us.

“How do you think you can help us? We can't even see the circle from here and probably have to move fast. Are you trained to fight?” I asked him.

“M...my dad taught me to throw knives.”

“Oh yeah! Maybe he should have taught you to fucking bring an arrow and shoot the shit out of all our enemies like they do in all the stale LITRPG stories about elves who has magical powers and is a master in shooting arrows. What do I get in this game? Oh! Let me think, I got an elf boy who can throw knives, and we don't even have fucking knives here and are stuck with two daggers that we have to use on the circles. I am sorry, Lol. Part of this that we are doing right now is for your sake. If you get hurt, would your father forgive us for bringing you on this journey?” I asked him as he bowed his head down and walked back to the bridge.

I did feel bad about this, but Stella would kill me if something would happen to the boy. I have fought Grawlers and almost lost my life; these are Prowlers. If Lol is on the bridge, he can try to escape if we die. At least, that is a slight chance to escape.

We got ready as Timmey stood there with his eyes closed, smiling, and all focus was on the left side of the big field. That is our target. I leaped and ran at full speed to reach the left side. Mejni ran with a big smile beside me as we reached the edge and started running forward, hoping the circle would show up. After running and no enemies in sight, I felt much calmer. At that exact moment, when I stepped with my right foot on the ground, something pressed upwards quickly, and I flew up in the air and landed as red blood gushed up from the ground as something with four legs crawled up covered in red blood. Something looked like the size of a gorilla but extremely ugly, and it only had one eye on its forehead with sharp teeth like sharks, but then a motor sound started, and half their arm became a live fucking drilling machine. I backed a few steps as more blood pools showed up, and a couple more Prowlers were getting up from the ground. Mejni didn’t move and had his eyes focused on them. I released the daggers around my hip and prepared myself for a fight.

“Mejni! Move behind me and find that damn circle, and I will try to keep these...friends occupied.” I whispered, and Mejni burst, running to look for the circle.

No wonder why he ran away. The situation was as bad as it could be. I wonder what the LITRPG guys are thinking about doing gardening and doing fucking power-ups when I have to face real fucking dangers where I can die in an instant. The creatures prepared themselves to attack, and I needed an incredible plan to escape this mess. I ran towards them as they were not ready to be attacked first, and I quickly went down on my knees, sliding on the blood pool as the closest Prowler swung towards me, and the drilling machine was just centimeters from hitting my head. I quickly got up from the ground but slipped and fell on my back as one more swinging Prowler missed my upper body because of my mistake. Something quickly came from above, and I quickly rolled to the side. One arm started to drill a hole in the ground as more blood gushed out. I tried to have a proper stance because it was blood from everyone on the ground, and small pools got created every time they drilled towards the ground, but I got an idea, Berk is fantastic. I ran towards the first in the front as it swung wide, and I ducked down but moved to the left to the other Prowler was, and as It was going to swing, I jumped above it as the third Prowler tried to hit me, but hit its companion drilling a wide hole in the stomach. I quickly got up from the ground as one was running toward me, and I threw the dagger, hitting the last one in the eye as it instantly went down on the ground. I quickly got up as the two surviving still started to chase me, and I ran like hell to find Mejni. When I looked back while running, more and more blood splattered around with more Prowlers coming up from the ground. I must have run for a while because I couldn’t see him at first, but after a minute of running I saw him wave at me and I was so happy that he had found the circle when he suddenly stopped waving and I looked back and saw a lot of Prowlers chasing me.

I slid on the ground and stabbed the daggers in the circle with full strength, but they didn’t get through. It didn’t fucking puncture it. A prowler jumped up towards us as we both backed away from the circle it hit with the drill in the ring, and still, it didn’t get punctured. Several drilling spears came towards me. I lost my balance and fell to the ground, and a bright light crossed my eyes as I could see that damn cat on steroids as several Prowlers stood still and didn’t move. I looked at them, surprised that they didn’t attack. Suddenly, all their heads split from the throat as I got bathed in blood, and my shirt changed its color from messed up white gray to completely red. He came up to me and took one of the daggers, and electricity helped him up in the air as he screamed out:

“PINTAH PINTAH!” As thunder struck Mejni with an ugly expression, he threw the dagger and punctured it inside the circle.

The Prowlers stopped and ran in the other direction. Mejni stood and looked at me with his tongue out and his bulging fucking six-pack like he was bragging. The ground started to shake, and I snared the other dagger around my wrist as the ground began to bend in the other direction. The monster is getting up from the ground.

“MEJNI COME HERE AND HOLD ON!” I yelled at him as he ran, and right before he was going to glide down, he jumped, and his claws went right into the skin on my leg. I wanted to scream out but held it in.

“LOL! ENEMIES WILL FALL, HOLD YOURSELF ON THE RAILING!” I managed to scream out before gliding downward and stopping in the air, dangling with the dagger and the long rope. When the monster stood up straight, it rotated its back, and we swung around from the left side in the front. The rope got loose and must have broken as we were free-falling until we stopped in the air. Stella grabbed it and swung us back toward the monster as I saw where we were swinging toward.

“NO! NO! NO!” I screamed out in the air and tried to turn my back towards the wall we were going to hit.

We hit a cushion, and dangling in the air, we hit the crouch of the monster.

“Please get me up from here, Stella!” I said when Mejni climbed up my back and started to swing toward the crouch of the monster.

“Stop it! I am going to kill you for real if you continue!”

Mejni went around and bent his head, staring at me with a smile.

  “Oh! Hooman weak?”

I got pissed off and tried to shake him off me, but the bastard climbed down on my legs and held on for his Motherland without any return. I tried to shake my legs, but he yawned at my lame attempts.

“CAN BOTH OF YOU STOP SHAKING! DO YOU WANT ME TO DROP YOU.”

I stopped moving as Stella started to pull me up from the biggest embarrassment in my life. I feel so humiliated. I can not imagine if I would return to Earth someday, and Veronica asked me what my assignment was. I wonder if I should answer, ‘Yeah, I hit a cushion that was a monster’s crouch.’ The witches in the Van Polan organization will laugh at me.
