I took care and pulled one of them out by the roots. Since they have healing properties, maybe I could sell them, make some money in return... Just kidding. They would die before I could get out of here. Even plucked carefully, none of them would survive out of the ground for long. But it would be interesting to find a way to store them.
- Hmm...
Suush!
What? The grass... gone? Where did it go?
Suush!
- Whoa!
It suddenly disappeared from my hand! Did I do it?
The answer should be obvious, but the question was how I did it.
A moment ago, I was thinking of a way to store these pnts and, at the very moment I thought of it, they disappeared. It happened so quickly that I could hardly tell what had happened. But as soon as I wondered where they were, they appeared again.
Is this what Syphus meant by “discovering the extent of my own powers”? As we had formed a contract, I imagined that my current gifts were only enhanced, but perhaps I had inherited something from him - apart from the change in appearance and the considerable increase in stamina.
Syphus didn't have time to expin much to me before he went into his inevitable and long-awaited sleep, so I'm still not sure about the extent of his abilities. But since he's a primordial dragon, I need to consider extraordinary possibilities, like what I've just seen - and who knows what else?
If I think about it, it's been a long time since I arrived here and I've learned a lot of things in an intense process of self-development. So why should I stop now?
It's clear that this isn't just a variation on my healing spell. This is something more abstract. The disappearance and reappearance of the herb in my hands... A lot of ideas can come from this, but I think it's best to apply the theory once again.
Suush!
It worked! When I concentrated on the idea of storing it, it disappeared from my hand. This time, I could see the exact moment it disappeared. It wasn't as fshy as my healing magic; it was much more subtle.
Suush!
Again, it worked. As I imagined it again, the herb reappeared in my hand. I don't know where it went, but it was no longer here. I'm just considering the obvious, but it's still somewhat complex.
It disappeared before my eyes, but came back the instant I thought about it... As if it were somewhere else, not physical, perhaps something dimensional or magical. The grass hasn't been damaged, so I don't have to worry so much.
Now that I think about it, that's incredibly useful! It's like having a backpack without needing one. No... it reminds me of a kind of inventory, like those in role-pying games, although I don't have a direct view of what's stored. I just have to imagine it, and in the same instant, the object appears in my hands.
What could I call it? “Magic Inventory”? “Invisible Luggage”? No... they're all bad.
Snap!
I know... How about... “Dimensional Void”?
I know names can be irrelevant in some cases, but this one sound cool when said. Although I probably only did it out of vanity, there's no real need to talk.
Now that I have this power, I can get on with my pn.
There are plenty of herbs around me, and they've already been purified. They would soon start to deteriorate again, so why not take them all at once? Besides, with my power, it wouldn't be a problem if they withered away from the earth. And, as far as I can tell, this dimension doesn't damage them, much less pollute them, as I feared. That's my pn for now.

Well, it took a while, but I finally managed to store a considerable amount. I don't know exactly how much, but I managed to leave an area completely barren, with no trace of these herbs. As I did this, I ended up testing the capabilities of the [Dimensional Void] in various ways.
I still don't know if there's a space limit for it, but so far, I haven't noticed any. Something interesting is that I can conjure the herbs in rger batches, rather than one by one, without any of them being damaged. They don't stay grouped together, but by doing so, a small pile has appeared in my hands. What's more, just like my healing magic, [Dimensional Void] uses my hands as a catalyst and requires a very short distance. I can't carry out this process without first approaching the object.
It was tiring, but I managed to keep going. As I did so, I began to wonder if I wasn't just killing time. If these herbs are a common sight outside the cave, well... at least I'll have something to eat for a long time, if necessary. I still don't know their real purpose, apart from their probable medicinal importance. Even so, the desire to explore my capabilities led me to explore something reted to my healing ability. Storing medicinal herbs will be useful, but in very specific situations.
Thinking about it more deeply, I ask myself: what's the point of having a power like this if it's only useful at specific times? If I fall from a high pce, hurt myself with something sharp or get into a fight, I can heal myself. But that wouldn't solve the problem permanently, it would just heal a cut or scratch.
After understanding the potential of healing magic, this may seem like a criticism, but my view is quite different. There are times when I need to defend myself, but I can't be on the defensive all the time either! It would be good to have a clear idea of my capabilities by now, at least to protect myself.
I believe that magic is still a mystery to be unraveled. Just like the discovery of the [Dimensional Void], my healing magic appeared by chance. Perhaps it's wrong to exploit my gifts in this way; if I discover them in a dangerous situation, I could end up going wrong. Even healing magic wouldn't be able to save me, depending on the situation.
That's why I thought it might be time to assess my physical capabilities. This has been on my mind since the moment I jumped in. How did I manage to withstand such a high fall? I already know that I have high stamina, but this could just be the healing magic working at full throttle without me realizing it.
So I decided to test my strength. As luck would have it, I found the perfect target. When I purified those stones, I realized that, despite their fragile appearance, they have considerable resistance. Now I'm near an area where they are in abundance, and I ended up purifying some of them because I got carried away. As beautiful as they are, unfortunately, they will be the target of my test.
Healing magic gives me a certain confidence. Even if I don't have much strength and end up breaking my hand, I can easily treat it afterwards. I position my left fist in front of one of these stones. As they're on the ground, I'll have to hit from the bottom up... Let's go.
