CRASH!
Ugh! That crystal seemed pretty sturdy, but it shattered completely with a single punch! Is this my physical strength now?
I felt the pressure of the impact as soon as I touched the crystal, and it was enough to crack it in half. Even fragmented, it didn't lose its shine - which I think is a good sign.
I know my strength is increasing, but I think I could handle something even tougher. However, there's nothing around here that challenges that ability, so I'll make do with what I have so far. At least my fists are strong, and my legs too. I thought about trying to kick the stones with all my might, but I soon realized that I would only scatter them on the ground. Besides, after that high fall, questioning the strength of my legs would be a foolish thought.
I think I can hold my own in a hand-to-hand fight, or at least defend myself if necessary. A new strength test would be useful now, but there's no other target here. Well, maybe I can take advantage of this situation.
As I did with the herbs, I'm going to store these stones. Now that they're no longer stuck in the ground, that's entirely possible.
***
I need to stop getting carried away, or I'll end up destroying the entire ecosystem of this cave. Storing these stones was another test of strength, and I can say that it was effective. I broke them in every possible way: with my hands, legs and feet. In every case, they fragmented without difficulty.
Using [Dimensional Void], I was able to store them and conjure them in my hands in rge quantities. Of course, as I'm not very good with bance, they ended up falling again, but on the second attempt I managed to stack them up and lift them without a problem.
I'm not sure how much all those stones weighed, but they were incredibly light. With both hands, I was able to lift them effortlessly, without any reference to weight. That's a great combination: increased strength, healing ability beyond normal, and everything working together.
But still, I began to wonder: what if a threat arose and was able to confront me from a distance? How would I deal with it?
As I continued to stock up on stones, I began to think of ways to use Syphus' powers without knowing exactly how. It's like pying a role-pying game and skipping all the tutorials. I'm not in a difficult situation, but exploring my potential blindly seems like a good challenge.
From what I know about Syphus, he's an incredibly strong being - a primordial dragon with corrosive abilities and a somewhat arrogant demeanor... but that's all I know.
Knowing that he's an [Abyssal Dragon], my mind focused on the idea of corrosion. I tested it again on some herbs, and I succeeded, but corroding things takes time. Besides, I need to touch them to cause this effect. I don't know what the real range of this element's ability is. The presence of Syphus was enough to corrupt this entire cave, but I can only do that over a limited range and with effort. At least now I have a better idea of its [Abyssal Corrosion], and who knows, maybe in time I'll be able to exploit it more effectively.
I then decided to try and explore more of Syphus' powers.
As he's a dragon, I thought he might have more abilities. As well as corrosion, I thought he might have the power to fly or even breathe fire. But how could I fly without wings?
I tried to conjure up wings with my mind and imagination.
- Grr...
Yeah... it didn't work. I imagined that perhaps wings could be created, but to no avail. Perhaps it was a ck of knowledge or confidence. How could I even make wings appear? And how would I use them to fly? Even though it was something I'd love to try, I questioned myself too much and it didn't work.
Time to try something else.
I don't know if Syphus can really spit fire or conjure a fme. Maybe I'm idealizing the idea of a dragon, but it's worth a try. The worst that can happen is that I fail miserably.
But how would I do that? It's not magic, it's an element. Maybe, thinking about corrosion, I could do it.
- ...
It didn't work. I raised my hands, tried to visualize the corrosive element, but nothing happened. I thought I could at least create fmes.
Maybe I'm thinking the wrong way. I wanted to do magic, but fme, like corrosion, is an element. More importantly, it should come from within me.
So, with that idea, I remembered the heat I felt when I arrived in this world, and the intense heat that ran through my body when I made that contract with Syphus. I used that as a reference.
- Sigh
Foooosh!
Whoa! It worked!
It took a few seconds, but I managed to control the fmes to dissipate them. It worked in the end!
Tap!
It took a few seconds before I could control the fmes to dissipate them, but it worked.
After pulling the air tightly into my lungs and expelling it in one breath, I felt a wave of heat flow from my mouth. It was as if I was letting out a normal puff or blowing out something extremely hot... but it was coming out of me. Like a mini fmethrower? The first attempt was exaggerated, but surprisingly I still managed to release fire!
I don't know exactly what it was, but its color was bck. The thermal sensation changed for a few moments, which made me realize how strong it had been, and considering that I'm in a partially enclosed environment, this is even more remarkable. What's more, this fire seemed to have a slight corrosive capacity. The floor, which was already slightly damaged, was even worse, confirming that this was no ordinary fire. Perhaps I should call it [Dark Fmes], it seems more appropriate.
Foooosh! Bst! I unleashed another bst, and now that I had an idea of how to conjure it, I had no trouble. Its range was considerable and its density impressive. The first time, the fire dispersed due to ck of concentration, but this time it was different. I concentrated and even managed to crack it with the heat.
I don't know if this can be considered magic, but at least now I can deal with danger from a distance if necessary.
The ability to store objects in the void...
Blowing fmes with immense corrosive power...
Strength that goes beyond human limits...
And, what's more, healing powers that defy normal abilities...
Well, I'd say that's more than enough to face the possible adversities of this pce. I've already managed to stockpile a good number of herbs and the mysterious ore, all completely purified. They might come in handy one day...
