Chapter 12

Back at Du-Mek, the Necromutants of Chaos are having a brief discussion with Sewero.

"As you all can see, dispyed on my right, is the whole sector of Gaxy Forest." the big screen projector said.

"What's the objective if we were to bring world domination on Nolea and Zibato?" Fozoworu asked.

"In order to destroy the pnets; we must obtain the eight Mystical Gems, each containing a source of power," Sewero expined. "With the gems in our possession, I would be able to become immortal and bring massive chaos on both pnets, making life nonexistent. Behold the result of what will happen once we gain the powers of those gems."

Sewero gives a visual of how the pn should work on his widescreen. Du-Mek is absorbing the energy and then shows a wave of dark energy spreading on Nolea and Zibato. The pnets are consumed in the darkness and then a widespread of light destroyed both pnets like a bomb. Fozoworu and the others are impressed by what they see by the outcome.

"Now that you have seen what the results will look like, I demand that these gems are to be found before the Emissary of Light obtains them so that I can gain my immortality." Sewero said. "Go and come back when I expect results!"

Sewero's screen went bnk. Once he's out of the picture, Fozoworu and his cohorts left the room and then return to the round table to have a discussion.

"Our great leader, Sewero, wants us to find those gems...but how?" asked one of his cohorts.

"Haven't a clue Kukofoges." Echrezar said to him, mentioning his name. "The thing is that we have no idea where the gems are located."

"If we are to find and stop the Emissary of Light, we would send out one of our own in disguise and keep in watch until all the gems have been retrieved." Kukofoges said.

  "Hmm..."

Fozoworu views his globe. The two Necromutants notice what he was viewing, and they decide to check it out. There, they saw Shokei and Antoinette together. In his eyes, he sees the pair making out love.

"That's...interesting..." Kukofoges said, cupping her chin.

"Echrezar, isn't that the girl you encountered before?" Fozoworu asked him.

"I did, yes." Echrezar replied. "Why you asked?"

"This blonde haired being..." Fozoworu takes a closer look and noticed what was on Shokei's neck. "I am getting a sense that we have found our Emissary of Light that we are targeting."

  "You mean her?" asked Echrezar.

"Absolutely." Fozoworu replied. "There appears to be a foreign item that she holds around her neck. A form of a medallion it seems."

"Never noticed it." Echrezar shakes his head. "Where in the world did she obtained that?"

"That medallion..." Fozoworu thinks about this. "I am recalling what that medallion does but I know that medallion appears to be very ancient a long time ago."

Fozoworu turns to his fellow Necromutants.

"No worries," Fozoworu said to them. "We will find out ter. As of now, I have the perfect pn to send out one of ours to follow that Emissary of Light. Pardon me."

Fozoworu leaves the conference room as his fellow Necromutants watched him. The grey-haired figure walks down a hallway and makes his way downstairs to the basement of his ir. Soon, Fozoworu reaches to the deepest section of the castle and stands in front of a chamber, entitled "The Chamber of Empty Promises." Walking inside, the area that he is in is shadowy and looks more of a dark dimensional room with no walls but has checkers tiles on the floor. Fozoworu stood there until he hears someone ughing inside the room.

"Ahahahaha!!" a voice speaks out with the sounds of ughter. "Fozoworu, how delightful for you to come by!"

Fozoworu looks up to see the figure above him. There he sees a Necromutant wearing a yellow-bck dress, and in high heel shoes, donning in a gothic jester outfit. The figure swings on a swing and looks down to see Fozoworu below.

"My dear Bck Death." Fozoworu greeted. "It's a pleasure to see you."

"HEL-ooooooo!!" she greeted him. "And what brings you to my domain?"

"I have a task that I am about to give you." said Fozoworu.

"Task?" Bck Death asked. "Oooh! Interesting!"

Bck Death jumps off her swing and nds in front of Fozoworu.

"Do tell!! What task?!" she asked him in excitement.

"Calm down...," Fozoworu tells her. "Because I will give you this important task."

  Bck Death listened.

"Anyways, your task is to follow a blonde-haired girl, susceptible of being chosen as the Emissary of Light, and to find those eight Mystical Gems." Fozoworu tells her. "Be advised that she is not alone on this journey as she is accompanied with allies in her quest."

"That sounds like fun!" Bck Death nodded. Then, she behaved normal. "Say...who is this Emissary of Light anyway? What she looks like?"

"I'll show you who she is, and you send yourself out there to follow her." replied Fozoworu. "While you're with her, disguise yourself along the way as long as you keep your identity a secret from her and her group."

"Easier said than done!" said Bck Death, cpping her hands together. "Whoever this Emissary is, I'll be sure to put her out of misery."

"No need for excitement." Fozoworu said to her. "It won't be simple if you think about obtaining those gems and killing the Emissary would be that simple. It will take time for that girl to find those gems. Come, and I'll reveal to you what she looks like."

Fozoworu turns to exit out the chamber with Bck Death right behind her.

The next day, Shokei and her party are about to leave Bloodstrike's hideout and are about to head out for their journey to Senwald. The party were all set to depart from the site.

"All we have to do is to go to Itaea first and then Senwald?" Antoinette asked.

"Yep." Kichiro replied. "We should make it out of this forest to get there."

"Good. Let's move now." Shokei said to everyone.

Everyone is traveling together again as they make their way out of the forest. Navigating through the Great Forest takes the party some time to get back on track. As the party kept on moving, Shokei looks ahead to see houses and buildings, in which is a town nearby.

"I see a town." Marie said.

"I take that's Itaea straight ahead." Rei said. "Is it?"

"Yep," Kichiro replied to everyone. "We're finally here."

The party has arrived at their destination, the town of Itaea. Everyone was standing at the entrance to get a good look at Kichiro's hometown. All of them can see that Itaea is a huge, bustling city build predominantly of granite. The center of the town has an imposing bell tower. Upon entering the town, the party looks around to see activities taking pce along with people moving around in both directions.

"We made it." Shokei said and turned to Kichiro. "Now, you were saying about your pce."

"Right. Follow me." Kichiro told everyone.

Kichiro led the way for the party to follow him to his house. The party looks around the town, seeing how neat it was and how the town is still living despite the wreckage that happened at Malluraea. After minutes of walking, the party arrived at his home. Kichiro's pce is a small medieval house that stands between two other houses. The size of the house is a two-floor home, property owned.

"Wow, that's a big house." Antoinette said, looking at the house.

"The entrance looks fancy all right." Sadako said. "Are you sure this house will fit us all inside?"

"Of course, it will." Kichiro replied with a small. "It will accommodate us all inside."

"Kinda fancy for a house." Rei said.

"Let's go in." Kichiro said, opening the door. "But don't expect the word 'fancy 'about my pce though."

The party went inside Kichiro's house to check it out. Inside, the party looks around his pce from the living room to his bedroom, a guest bedroom, the dining room and his small backyard. The party is pleased with Kichiro's house as it was neat and tidy.

"Looking decent there Kichiro." Marie said to him.

  "Heh, thanks." Kichiro replied.

"Nothing fancy as you said it." Shokei said. "But this pce will do."

"Oh yeah, I have a room where you can stay in." Kichiro said to her. "Come and I'll show you."

Kichiro led Shokei to where she can stay in one of the guest rooms. Kichiro opens the door and Shokei walks inside to see what her room looks like the room looks pin with walls carefully wallpapered in white and a floor that's cold fgstone. The room is adequately lit, though confined. Only one window is in the room and the sunlight beams brightly from inside. Shokei looks to see her bed is in the left corner along with a coffee table and a drawer.

"What do you think?" Kichiro asked her.

"Looks neat." Shokei replied, looking around the room. "I can get used to this."

  "Make yourself comfortable." said Kichiro.

The rest of the party members have cimed their rooms that they will be staying in. Rei, Marie, Beatrice, and Tamiko got the basement where there's enough space for them. Obsidian, Saeko, and Sadako got the guest room on the top floor. While Shokei looks around her room, she turns to see Antoinette standing at the door.

"Looks like I'll be sharing the same room with you Shokei." Antoinette said to her.

Shokei looks at her and nodded. She felt pleased that she did not have to be alone by herself in one room.

Later, Shokei takes her time to view the map once again. Checking, she arrived in Itaea. Senwald is up north from where she and her party stand. On the map, Shokei can still see the red mark is still there. The red mark indicates where the first gem is found, and she knows what her mission entails. Antoinette currently rests up as she is asleep on the bed. Kichiro came in the room and noticed the map Shokei has on her.

"Hey." Kichiro said, putting his hand up to say hello.

Shokei looks up to see Kichiro entering the room.

"What are you up to?" he asked.

"Nothing much. Just viewing the map to see where we need to go." Shokei tells him.

"I see." Kichiro said and viewed the map. "Hmm?"

  "What?" Shokei asked.

"That red mark..." Kichiro pointed out to her. "What is it indicating?"

"I'm not sure." replied Shokei. "I bet it could indicate a treasure located."

"Really?" Kichiro asked. "I never saw this map before. From the looks of it, this map looks ancient."

"Well...it's..." Shokei was trying to find the words to describe the mark.

"Speaking of that, I want you to meet a friend of mines in Itaea." Kichiro said, moving on the conversation.

"Really?" Who is it?" asked Shokei.

"My friend Nobuatsu is an expert at identifying ancient materials." replied Kichiro. "With that map you have, he might analyze that mark on the map."

"Perhaps he could give insights on the treasure I'm looking for." Shokei said.

"Maybe but come with me and I'll introduce you to him." Kichiro said.

"Ok." Shokei said and takes the map with her.

Soon, Shokei and Kichiro are walking up to the house where Kichiro's friend is located. His friend's house was just a few blocks away. Arriving at Nobuatsu's house, his pce appears to be a small mansion with gates surrounding the pce and a straight path that leads to his front door. Once they got there, the two noticed a note attached to his gate.

"He's out of town, huh?" Kichiro said reading the note. "Looks like he's out for a few days."

"I guess there's not much we can do right now." Shokei said with a shrug.

"It seems so." Kichiro said. "Oh well. Let's walk back."

Both left Nobuatsu's pce. On their way back to the house, Shokei and Kichiro saw something up ahead. There, they saw a small group of armored men patrolling around the streets of Itaea and asking questions to the locals.

  "Huh? What's this?" Shokei asked.

"Senwald's troops? What are they doing here?" asked Kichiro.

"Pardon us, but have you seen the princess?"

Shokei and Kichiro turns to see a guard talking to them.

"May I help you?" asked Shokei.

"We are looking for a runaway princess." The guard tells her. "She has been missing for days."

"I see." Shokei said to him and lied. "Unfortunately, we have not seen a princess around here."

"Very well." The guard said and walked on by.

Once the guard went onward, Shokei looks at Kichiro.

"Uh uo!" Shokei said with a worried look. "This does not look good."

"They are going after Antoinette." Kichiro said. "We must hurry back to protect her."

  "Right." Shokei nodded.

Assessing the situation taking pce, both of them quickly ran back to the house. Once they returned, Shokei can see the party in the living room.

"EVERYONE!" Kichiro said to everyone. "We got major trouble! There are some guards approaching people's homes and are heading this way."

"Oh no!" Antoinette gasped. "Senwald's guards! They're looking for me."

"Eh?" Rei asked in disbelief. "What's this all about?"

"We can discuss this ter. Right now, SOMEONE HIDE ME!!" shouted Antoinette. She felt scared.

"What do we do?" Shokei asked, wondering what to do. "We need to hide the princess from being found by the guards."

"I got it!" Kichiro said, coming up with a solution.

The party turns to see him talking.

"The basement downstairs has a hidden chute on the floor." Kichiro said. "If we put the princess in there, neither of the guards will never find or inspect her there."

"Sounds like a great idea." Shokei said.

"Are you sure it's going to work?" Saeko asked. "What if they inspected the entire area up and down?"

"They won't." Kichiro said." The hidden chute is invisible to their eyes so they won't find anything suspicious. Now hurry! Down to the basement!"

Shokei escorted Antoinette downstairs to the basement, with Kichiro in the front. From there, Kichiro inspected the floor for a second until he spotted the fake surface. He opens the chute and Antoinette went right in there.

"You'll be safe in here until the guards are gone." Kichiro tells the princess. "Just be silent once they invade my turf."

Antoinette nodded and Kichiro seals up the chute, covering the surface with a mat. Then, Shokei and Kichiro went back upstairs in time as they hear the Senwald guards knocking on his door.

Right now, the guards from Senwald have arrived at Kichiro's house. Kichiro already knew that the princess is hiding in a safe spot. Before he opened the door, Kichiro looks at everyone else and some nodded, giving him the 'ok' sign. Kichiro opens the door and standing in front of him was one of the king's guards. This guard appears to be the headmaster of the group.

"Hi, how can I help you?" Kichiro greeted the guards with a welcome, showing politeness.

"Good day, sir!" the headmaster said to him, with no smile on his face. "We are on a lookout for a missing princess, and we are curious if the princess is hiding out in your home."

"Really?" asked Kichiro. "I don't think we have a princess in our home..."

The headmaster gave him a "look" by staring at him. As much as Kichiro was trying to hide the truth in his face, he would not turn down the privilege of invading his property.

"...eh, sure why not?" Kichiro said, slightly nervous. "Come right in."

"Thank you. Our services will show you great cooperation to what we are doing for you and your community." The headmaster said to him. "Ok men. Let's go in and see what we can find in here."

The headmaster hired four of his guards to inspect around Kichiro's house. While this was going on, Shokei and everyone else know that Antoinette is at stake. Finding her in that secret chute would be all over for her. The guards searched everywhere from the top floor to the main floor, and then to the basement. Minutes have passed and the search for the princess was unsuccessful. Two guards were leaving the basement and Kichiro can see that his chute trick worked.

"No sign of her men?" the headmaster asked.

"No sir." One of the guards replied.

"Really?" the headmaster said in disappointment. "Anyways, move out."

The guards are making their exit. One of the guards, however, had his eye on Shokei, watching her. Shokei blinked as the guard could not tell if she is suspicious or if she was up to something. Shokei behaves enough to keep her innocence and then the guard turns his direction in leaving the home. Once the guards have left, Kichiro made sure that they left immediately. The search was over, and the coast is clear.

Shokei went back downstairs to get Antoinette from her hiding spot by moving the mat covering the hidden chute. Then, she carefully takes the lid off to see that the princess was doing fine down there.

"Are they all gone?" Antoinette asked, whispering.

  Shokei nodded.

Antoinette gets out of the chute and then she heads upstairs to meet the others.

"Whew! I'm gd that's over." Antoinette said. "...huh?"

The party was quiet. Silence came and everyone has a strange gre at her. Shokei comes from behind to meet up with her party. Antoinette has a concerned look like she was truly hiding something.

"...ummm..." Antoinette stood there, not knowing what to say.

"I believe it's time you start telling us what's really going on with you, princess." Rei said directly at her.
