Chapter 12.1: Goals (part 1)

She left, my debt paid. A friendship acquired. She will remember me and I will remember her. And that is the most important thing to us. I turn to the other pods, that of He Who Sees, and that of She That Remembers Us. And I understand. How am I to be as useful as these? How can I serve a purpose, earn my keep, not bring those who help me down.

Well, I need to create another seeing device using the memory shards He Who Sees, left here. And I shall pay back Zur, for all that was given to me.

And for Zur I need resources, and for resources, I need a place. And I'm back at the beginning. What can I provide?

Well, I was able to create the sail-glider, but that was expensive, using materials not often available. Unless somehow we begin to hunt sharks.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

If Wim makes enough use of it that there is demand for another I can play my part there.

But other than that, what can I do? I do not know, is there anyone waking who might? The scouts and worker don't need my help I cannot swim and they who make nets and tools provide them with what they need. Sil-gliders cannot help there, as they leave too much of a trace.

(Though I just though of a better mechanism to move the weights.)

Then there is Zur, but I have no proficiency or knowledge in that area of work. Well, I don't even know what that area of work is. But I feel that if I asked zur would help me learn at great cost to himself. And I wouldn't be able to live with myself if Zur harmed himself, herself? himself helping me.

So that leave Wur and Wim. I've done what I can for Wur, and, well, the improvement on the sail-glider are for her time. So that leave Wim, He Who Speaks WIth Giants. And I even have the location of his pod down here somewhere. Okay, no more dawdling off I go.

Let me just get a few shards, and Off I Go.
