Yami's sword fshed a little bck light as he threw a bck flying ssh at Alex. He wasn't pnning to use his magic but seeing him fighting equally he decided to test the masked guy's limit.

  So, he used only 10% of his usual magic. It might be dangerous, not enough to kill him.

  Alex also felt the ges but he wasn't afraid because, with his body traio limit, he was fident about taking it on.

  He grabbed the hilt of his sword and said. "Bck Dragon Ssh!"

  A dark dragon, pitch bd more powerful than the flying ssh by Alex, flew towards the bck ssh aiming at Alex.

  *Boom!*

  Both of their attacks collided in the air and a powerful wave spread in the surroundings, many cuts appeared on the ground below.

  But the bck flying fsh was slightly more powerful as it came out on top, destroying Alex's attad sshing his chest.

  Alex flew backward and collided with a tree. The power of the ssh was reduced quite a bit, leaving a light scar on his body.

  "Hey kid, are you alright?" Yami approached him and touched the little cut on his cheek. This might be the first time when someohout magic was able to nd a hit on him. He really couldn't help but show his as he really liked the style of the kid.

  Alex slowly got up and nodded his head, grinding his teeth in pain.

  Yami lit a cigarette and took a puff from it. "Kid, what's your name?"

  "It's Asta," Alex replied as he removed his mask.

  "From today onwards, you're a member of Bck Bulls," Yami said before releasing a heavy killing i. "And I don't take no for an answer."

  Alex sighed as he knew Yami's stubborn personality and said. "Alright. But you have to wait for 3 years before I officially join the squad."

  "Hmm, you want to participate in the Magiights Entrance Exam?"

  "Yes. After all, I made a promise to someone." Alex said seriously.

  Yami stared at him for a few seds. "Do whatever you want. But if you don't e after 3 years then I'll kill you."

  Alex's face twitched after hearing his logic. "Okay, captain."

  Yami nodded ahe pce after dumping the hunting responsibility on Asta.

  Seeing Yami present during the exam was already very surprising for everyone. Fuegoleon couldn't help after seeing Yami smile like that.

  Yami took a puff of his cigarette before saying. "Yep. The boy over there with the sword, I'm here for him."

  Yami humped as he said. "Like hell, I would let you do that, Fugleon."

  "But I 't sense any mana from him." William furrowed his brows as he said. "Well, let's first start the exam."

  He stepped forward and said to everyone. "We will now begin the Magiights Entrance Exam. We will now have you all take several tests. The nine of us will evaluate your performance, and then we will select the didates that we would like to add to our squads. If chosen, you will join that squad. If you're chosen by more than one squad, you may choose the squad you would like to join. Oher hand, those who are not chosen by any captai qualified to join."

  Then William took out his grimoire and read a spell. "Magic Tree Dest."

  Suddenly the sky went dark and the roots of a tree started to desd towards the ground.

  The roots desded to the ground and then ged into brooms.

  "But that's..."

  "I've never dohat before."

  "Mages who trol their Magical powers should be able to do this instinctively. It is the most basic way fes to travel. If you ot fly on a broom, you shouldn't even be here." William said with a serious expression.

  "So, let's begin!"

  Alex smirked as he cast float magi himself, his body rising to the level of Yuno. He was the only tender who didn't need any broom to fly.

  The others were surprised to see him flying so effortlessly.

  The exam then tinued with the examines perf various tasks. He passed them all very easily except for creating something with magic or letting a seed grow by using magic.

  "And now it's time for the fi. A one-on-one spar!" William addressed everyone.

  Fuegoelon stepped forward this time and said loudly "Prepare for the duel. You're free to choose your partner. Fighting is our duty. Could you show us your true abilities? You may use yrimoires to attack. Show us what are you made of!"

  Alex sighed and walked over to the ter as he k would be going to be troublesome as not a single present was enough for him to fight seriously.

  "Hey, what the hell with him?"

  "Is he the oh the five-leaf grimoire?!"

  Asta ighem and uhed his sword.

  He sliced at the ground and created a big cra the floor, a heavy killing aura radiating from him bined with his dragon's fear.

  "I'm giving you all an open challenge. Is there someone who wants to fight me?" Alex said and g others.

  But none of them dared to make eye tact with him.

  'We are not insane enough to fight with such a monster!' After seeing him slig the ground like butter, the others were scared.

  Alex waited for a few seds but not a single oepped forward. He sheathed his sword and walked to the side.

  Even the captains were a little taken aback by Alex's aura just now. Despite not feeling an ounana, they could still feel themselves trembling under his pressure.

  "Huh, what the hell just happened?" Finral was dumbfounded by the se and couldn't help but ask.

  "Intimidation!" Yami took a puff of smoke and tinued. "He intimidates everyone here with his strength. So, no one dares to fight him!"

  Fuegoleon couldn't help but praise. "What a strong fighting spirit! He didn't even use magic but still scared everyone... Now, I really want him on my squad."

  Charlotte said with a sigh. "Stupid men and their pointless fight "

  William stared at Asta and said. "He is a little iing. However, I'm more ied in his magic. I 't sense any mana fluctuation from him."
