"Excuse me, is this the css transfer pce?" Feng Xiao approached a group of shady-looking old men, picked the one who looked least creepy, and asked.
“Oh! Huh? You’re here to transfer?” The droopy old man in gray suddenly lit up like he’d just discovered a gold mine. He pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from who-knows-where. “Here, quick! Just sign your name on this, and you’re good to go.”
“Uh… just sign and that’s it?”
“Yep! Sign your name and you’ll be a glorious Shield Guard. Charge into battle, tank for your team, protect the dies, solo bosses—absolutely unstoppable! Come on, just sign here…”
“What? Shield Guard? But I wanted to—”
“Someone said transfer? Kid, don’t waste your life on that rusty tin can css. Lousy damage, always lugging around a heavy-ass shield. Pick Assassin! It’s the best css for stealing loot and picking up girls. Just transfer and I’ll hook you up—” A bck-robed old man jumped out, cutting in before he could finish.
“Ugh, you geezers again. Can’t you see he’s not interested in your garbage csses?” A red-robed elder joined in. “Kid, good eye! Mages have the strongest damage and fshiest skills—perfect for bsting monsters and showing off!”
“Step aside, fossils! Hey kid, want your enemies dead before they even reach you? Want to kill from a hundred steps away? Become an Archer! I’ll train you personally, guaranteed results. Skill discounts, and if you don’t learn, I’ll teach you again for free!” This time it was a green-robed elder yelling over them.
“Transfer to Warrior, kid! I’ll throw in 30% off skill training and even gift you a full set of level-10 blue Warrior gear!”
“Your me Warrior’s nothing! Assassins could slit your throats in the dark—”
“Pfft! Like your puny skills could break our shield defense! Kid, the moment I saw you, I knew we were fated!”
“Fate my ass. Kid, I have an eye for talent—you’ve got the sharp eyes and intuition of a natural-born Archer! Transfer and your greatness begins here…”
The five css instructors were hustling like desperate market vendors, each shouting over the other to pitch their css to Feng Xiao. He felt a vein pop in his forehead. What the hell was with these old guys? There were billions of pyers in line to change csses—was it really necessary to fight like this?
Still, amid the chaotic bombardment of awkward salesmanship, Feng Xiao managed to piece together the basic characteristics of the five primary csses in Reincarnation: Shield Guardian, Warrior, Assassin, Archer, and Mage.
The gray-robed old man was called Tian Dun, the css instructor for Shield Guardians. Shield Guardians are the only css that can wield a shield in combat. Their weapons include one-handed swords and blunt weapons, and the skills they develop depend on their weapon of choice. With high HP and defense, they’re the cornerstone of any team, especially against tough bosses. However, their attack power is mediocre, with a limited and linear offensive style. Main attributes: Vitality and Strength. 1 Vitality = +15 HP and +2 Defense, 1 Strength = +1.5 Attack. Level up gains: +20 HP, +10 MP.
The white-robed instructor, Tian Zhan, handled Warriors. Based on weapon preference, Warriors can specialize as spear-wielders with high attack and wide range but slower speed, or sword-wielders with banced stats. Warriors have strong physical damage and decent HP, with wide attack ranges and versatile skills—but they suffer from low accuracy and evasion. Main attributes: Strength and Vitality. 1 Strength = +2 Attack, 1 Vitality = +10 HP and +1 Defense. Level up gains: +20 HP, +10 MP.
The bck-robed Tian Ci was the Assassin instructor. Assassins include sub-csses like Rogues and Thieves, wielding daggers. They boast high agility, speed, accuracy, and attack, making them lethal in solo fights. However, they’re gss cannons—low HP and defense. Main attributes: Agility and Vitality. 1 Agility = +2 Evasion, +1 Accuracy, +2 Attack. 1 Vitality = +10 HP, +1 Defense. Level up gains: +10 HP, +10 MP.
The green-robed Tian Gong—clearly the Archer instructor—offered a css with the longest attack range and highest accuracy. But their close combat performance was dismal, and their defenses were weak. Main attributes: Agility, Strength, and Vitality. 1 Agility = +1 Evasion, +2 Accuracy, +1 Attack. 1 Strength = +1.5 Attack. 1 Vitality = +10 HP, +1 Defense. Level up gains: +20 HP, +10 MP.
The red-robed Tian Fa (Feng Xiao silently thanked the gods he wasn’t named “Tian Mo” or something more sinister) was the Mage instructor. Mages came in six elemental fvors: Water, Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, and Priest. All had unique traits. Main attributes: Spirit and Vitality. 1 Spirit = +2 Magic Attack, +10 MP. 1 Vitality = +10 HP, +1 Defense. Level up gains: +10 HP, +20 MP.
Fire Mages: Powerful AoE damage, but long casting times and high MP cost.
Wind Mages: Fastest casting speed, wide range, low MP cost, can boost party movement speed—but weaker damage.
Lightning Mages: Highest burst damage, flexible AoE, fast casting, and a chance to paralyze. But casting lightning consumes HP, making them the most fragile.
Earth Mages: Average damage and speed, mostly linear AoE. Their Earth Shield offers top-tier defense, and they can manipute terrain—safest of the mage csses.
Priests: Top-tier healing, decent Light-based attacks. Essential for boss raids. Strong priests can even resurrect and boost EXP gain, making them highly sought-after party members.
Water Mages: In Tian Fa’s words—“trash.” Weakest damage, smallest AoE. They can heal, but far inferior to Priests. Long cast times, high MP use. Their only highlight: a small chance to freeze enemies. Truly deserving of the “trash” bel, and likely few pyers would choose this path.
As for why these old fogeys were fighting tooth and nail? The first instructor to successfully recruit a “Hero from Another World” would be rewarded with 100,000 gold by the Dragon Emperor himself. Feng Xiao broke into a cold sweat just thinking about it—these guys were old, but clearly still obsessed with wealth. What, were they pnning to take the money with them to the grave?
"Alright, enough! I’m going Warrior!" Feng Xiao’s calm but firm decration instantly silenced the entire room.
The white-robed Tian Zhan strode forward proudly, shooting smug looks at the others. His eyes were practically shaped like dolr signs. “Good choice, kid! Warriors are—cough—the strongest css in the Dragon Continent!” He ignored the gres of the other four and whipped out a form. “Sign your name, and you’ll be a great Warrior!”
“Okay,” Feng Xiao said, grabbing the magical pen. As he began signing, a thought suddenly struck him.
“Master Tian Zhan, will I lose my existing skills after css transfer?” His Shattering Ssh and Spinning Bde were both incredibly powerful—losing them would be a huge loss.
Before Tian Zhan could answer, Tian Dun cut in with a scoff, shooting him a look like he was an idiot. “Pfft. You think newbies start with skills? What, you hit your head or something?”
Whack!-1. Miss.
Before anyone could blink, a spinning dark-gold longsword smmed into Tian Dun, cutting him off mid-sentence. He stood there, dumbfounded, staring at Feng Xiao. “Kid… What’s your comprehension stat?”
This “Feng Hun” actually had skills? That was way outside their understanding of the game mechanics.
While the others were still reeling from the shock, Tian Zhan had completely zoned out. His expression shifted from joy to grief and back again as he muttered, “Wind God Dance… It’s the Wind God Dance… The Demon God's vessel… I’ve waited a thousand years for the Demon God's vessel…”
Feng Xiao scratched his head awkwardly and said humbly, “My comprehension’s not that high… Just 50.”
“Bullshit!” Tian Dun smacked him upside the head, beard practically standing on end. “You little punk, you trying to mess with us? The mighty Dragon Goddess only had 20 comprehension, and you dare cim 50?! At least make up something believable!”
Wiping off the spit on his face, Feng Xiao protested, “But I really do have 50! Look, see for yourself.” He shared his stat window.
Tian Dun cast a bored gnce at it—then froze. When he saw the clear “Comprehension: 50,” he rubbed his eyes in disbelief… then just stared at Feng Xiao like he was looking at an alien. The rest of the old men were just as stunned.
Dead silence. The old instructors stood frozen, exchanging weird gnces.
“Saint Emperor-level comprehension… It’s Saint Emperor-level!” Tian Dun suddenly roared, scaring the hell out of Feng Xiao. Right after he spoke, a bck figure suddenly appeared in front of him like a phantom.
“You just said what?” the shadow growled. “Saint Emperor-level comprehension? If you’re messing with me, Tian Dun, I’ll make sure you regret it!”
Tian Dun shrank back, clearly terrified, and pointed weakly at Feng Xiao.
The shadow turned—and locked eyes with Feng Xiao.
Both of them blurted out in unison, “You!?”
Feng Xiao groaned internally. It was that same masked old man he’d pissed off earlier. And from how the other instructors were holding their breath, this guy had to be somewhere between ridiculously strong and absolute monster.
Feng Xiao was pretty sure he was doomed.
Tian Xiu—the shadowy old man—was furious. This brat had repeatedly insulted his pride, even tried to steal his divine weapon. If not for the system preventing NPCs from killing pyers directly, he would’ve chopped Feng Xiao into pieces already.
Then Tian Xiu’s eyes nded on Feng Xiao’s still-open stat panel. His expression froze. The killing intent vanished without a trace. He stared at Feng Xiao like a starving wolf seeing the world’s plumpest, juiciest mb.
