Xuanyuan Wan’er (part two)

  "Mas…ter…"

A soft, ethereal female voice suddenly echoed in the air. Feng Xiao immediately stood up, looking around in confusion. Yet, he saw no one. As he strained his ears, only the faint whistling of the wind could be heard.

"I must have misheard," Feng Xiao muttered to himself before resuming his gathering work.

  "Mas…ter…"

This time, the voice was crystal clear. Even with his fearless nature, Feng Xiao couldn't help but feel a chill creep up his spine. Could it be… a ghost?

"Who are you? Where are you?" Feng Xiao shouted into the surroundings.

  "I… am inside… your body… summon… the Xuanyuan Sword… blood…"

The voice grew fainter and fainter until it finally disappeared.

"Inside my body? The Xuanyuan Sword? Possession? Could it be…?"

A sudden thought struck Feng Xiao. He quickly focused his mind and whispered, "Xuanyuan Sword."

With a fsh of white light, an ancient and slightly bronze-hued giant sword materialized in his hands. The sword was about 150 cm in length, with a 120 cm-long bde and a width of around 15 cm. Intricate patterns adorned its surface—one side bore engravings of the sun, moon, and stars, while the other was etched with mountains, rivers, and trees. Strange symbols were faintly visible on the hilt.

"Xuanyuan Sword! This must be the Xuanyuan Sword!"

Though it looked nothing like the dazzling, golden, aura-radiating weapon he had imagined, Feng Xiao was certain that what he summoned was the legendary sword the system had spoken of—the one that had acknowledged him as its master. The intricate patterns on the bde were nearly identical to those described in myths.

His hands trembled with excitement as he eagerly checked the weapon’s attributes:

  Xuanyuan Sword

Grade: UnknownRequirement: NoneEffect: Attack +1What the hell? Feng Xiao was utterly dumbfounded. The legendary Xuanyuan Sword—the mightiest of the ten great divine weapons of ancient times—was even weaker than a beginner’s short sword? His excitement was instantly doused like a bucket of cold water thrown over his head. It was the same kind of disappointment as mistaking a chocote bean for a goat turd.

Just as he was drowning in frustration, a sudden realization hit him. He vaguely recalled the voice mentioning blood. Could it be… that the sword needed a blood offering to truly recognize him as its master?

Without hesitation, Feng Xiao pced his hand on the bde and silently commanded, "Blood!"

In Reincarnation, the game avoided gruesome visuals such as blood sptters, dismemberments, or exploding corpses. Even pain was limited to just 5% of real sensation. However, for specific situations requiring blood, a simple mental command sufficed.

As soon as his blood made contact with the sword, a faint golden glow enveloped the bde. The sword trembled lightly, emitting a soft sizzling sound.

The golden light intensified, and the vibrations grew stronger. Feng Xiao had to grip the sword tightly to keep it from slipping from his hands. The phenomenon sted a full minute before the glow dimmed and the trembling ceased.

Now, the Xuanyuan Sword looked different. The ancient bde shimmered with a faint golden radiance, and the patterns on its surface became much clearer.

  "Master… you’ve succeeded… at st, you’ve finally succeeded."

The ethereal voice rang out once more, but this time, it was much clearer—ced with excitement and a hint of trembling emotion.

"You… you are the Xuanyuan Sword? You’re the one talking to me?" Feng Xiao asked, staring intently at the weapon in his hands.

"I am the spirit of the Xuanyuan Sword… my name is Xuanyuan Wan’er. Master may call me Wan’er."

The girl's voice was as sweet and melodious as an oriole singing in a valley. There was even a touch of shyness in her tone.

  "A sword spirit?"

Feng Xiao had heard of such things from his adoptive father—legendary weapons, if powerful enough, could give birth to sentient spirits. He had somewhat believed in the concept, and considering this was just a game, it didn’t surprise him too much. However, in his imagination, a sword spirit should have been an old man with a long white beard, exuding an air of supreme arrogance. He never expected… a gentle, soft-spoken girl.

"You were inside my body just now?"

"I was in Master's consciousness. The ten great divine weapons of ancient times reside within their master's mind until summoned."

"Wan’er has waited for tens of thousands of years… finally… I have found my master. I am so happy…"

"Waited? Tens of thousands of years? What’s going on? You were looking for me? But why?" Feng Xiao was completely lost. What kind of twist is this game pulling?

"Tens of thousands of years ago, during the War of Gods and Demons, the Xuanyuan Sword was sealed with seven yers of restraints. The most crucial first seal can only be undone by the blood of Chaos. And Master… you are the one foretold in an ancient prophecy—the only person since Pangu to possess a Chaos Body."

"War of Gods and Demons? Sealed? Chaos Body? Me?"

Feng Xiao instinctively touched his face in disbelief. Could it be that I hit the jackpot? Out of billions of pyers, I was randomly chosen to have this so-called Chaos Body? If that’s the case… then I guess I have no choice but to accept my destiny. Heh heh…

Not only did he get the Xuanyuan Sword for free, but it even came with an adorable sword spirit. This game is ridiculously generous… but I like it.

No wonder the sword’s initial attributes were so pathetic—it had been sealed! Feng Xiao quickly checked its updated stats:

  Sealed Xuanyuan Sword

Type: SupportLevel: BeginnerEffect: Ignites the user’s fighting spirit with divine fmes, greatly enhancing combat capabilities.Buff: Attack Power +100%Duration: 10 secondsCooldown: Once per dayA long list of attributes and skills left Feng Xiao dazzled. So strong… absolutely strong!

A +10 to Luck? Instant weapon breakage? Armor shattering? Instant death?! Every single one of these was an incredibly rare attribute in Battle Sky.

Luck affected item drop rates, critical hits, and special in-game events—such as triggering hidden quests. Most pyers only had 1 to 5 points in Luck, and even the rarest Luck-boosting equipment barely added +3. In the early stages of the game, such bonuses were almost nonexistent.

Weapon Break could render an enemy’s weapon useless, forcing them to fight barehanded. Armor Shatter left them defenseless.

And Instant Death… as the name suggested, it immediately reduced the target’s HP to zero—no matter how strong they were. Of course, its activation rate was incredibly low, and against powerful foes, the chances were even slimmer.

And this is just the first seal?

  "No wonder it’s called a divine weapon…"
