Final book launches on Amazon

Well, we're finally here, and I think I owe you the story behind Doing God's Work.

But first - Book 4 has finally launched on Amazon. It's been heavily edited since the version posted here, and, I believe, much improved. The link is below - here and in the author note at the end. As always, reviews would be much appreciated. For a series as small as mine, even a single review makes a world of difference.

Only the e-book this time, but audio will still be coming later this year, tentatively on July 29th. Originally they were due to be released together, but I had to fast-track the e-book for personal reasons. Don't worry - audio will still be coming.

  ---

DGW started in January 2019, took me five years to complete, and another to finish editing. It caused me significant burnout writing around a full time job, and, in the end, the books also sold poorly. Despite this, I committed to finishing and am proud of doing so. It's hard to keep going at the best of times. Harder at the worst of them. But I did.

Since then, I've had a continual run of poor luck. I quit my job and have since been unable to find a new one despite my best efforts. My next story also failed to take off. My father - who you might guess had some influence on Loki - became seriously ill. Everything I strove for in my life failed. What little remaining self esteem I had shattered.

Many times, I considered giving up.

For some weird reason, though - presumably insanity - I haven't.

  What's next:

I'm still writing. I won't be publishing anything new on Royal Road in the next few months, but there are multiple stories in the works. I'm close to finishing Book 1 of a new time loop series, The Eight Fates of Cal, will be working on Book 2 of The Truck Effect, and am also working on a third satirical LitRPG series, Numbers Go Down. I hope to have at least two completed by year's end, and plan to launch once several are ready to go. This will likely not be until 2026.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

If you're interested in reading my future series, the best way to get notified is to follow me on Royal Road (which you can do from either my profile or fiction pages).

Alternatively, you could join me on my new Discord server (link in author note at bottom) for direct updates on works in progress. I've just created it, so it's very basic right now, but I do enjoy meeting new people and don't bite.

  New works in progress:

THE EIGHT FATES OF CAL - A Time Loop Epic

Everyone can meet their god. Once.

Born under the god of fortune, Cal’s biggest problem is not knowing what to do with her luck. But at her coming-of-age blessing, it all goes wrong.

Not only is she the pivot of a time loop, but she isn’t the only version of herself. Seven other Cals came first, choosing the fates she would have chosen. All of them locked in with no way out. Now all that’s left is misfortune, the worst fate of all.

But this is like no other loop, and it isn’t just about Cal. The players are fifty-two devastation-wreaking gods and a realm-binding Covenant. Cal is their best way out.

The only question is, which Cal?

NUMBERS GO DOWN - LitRPG's Cardinal Sin

He thought he had everything. He thought wrong.

Emperor Jasonius, first of his name, couldn’t be happier. From humble beginnings, he fought his way through a magical world defeating monsters, conquering kingdoms and banishing the ultimate evil. Now he’s royalty, immortal and nigh-omnipotent.

Except it was all a mistake.

Now the system administrators are on his back expecting him to ‘atone’ for his ‘crimes’, and making him retrace his entire campaign in reverse. Playing along makes him weaker. Refusing gets him cursed. And for some reason, all the people he saved seem to be angry with him.

Things weren’t supposed to get harder. What the hell is he supposed to do now?

  ---

And lastly - it's been a long journey. You're the reason I kept writing in spite of everything. Regardless of what happens next - I did it for you, and I'm honoured that you're still here reading.

  Thank you.
