Elementalist?
Kenley rested his chin on one hand, deep in thought.
"Among the six primary elements, which one do you have the highest affinity for?" he continued asking.
Sylph was stunned for a moment. She lowered her head in contemplation before answering hesitantly,"I don't think any of them are particularly high… Maybe…"
Kenley was dumbfounded. This was an elven princess, yet her elemental affinity wasn't high in any of them? My god, I feel like smashing my head against a wall.
If what Sylph said was true, Kenley figured he could randomly pick any villager from an elven settlement, and they'd probably be far stronger than her. After all, elemental affinity was a crucial measure of an elf's potential. Simply put, every single elf possessed exceptional elemental affinity—there was no such thing as a weak one.
"Give me your hand!" Kenley's patience wore thin. Was she deliberately hiding the truth? Or did she just fail to understand his question again?
"What are you trying to do?!" Sylph was startled. Like a frightened rabbit, she instantly sprang to the other side of the bed, watching Kenley with wary eyes.
Kenley rolled his eyes."I just want to check your elemental affinity!"
If not for the fact that [Appraisal] could only assess basic information such as level and race from a distance, he wouldn't have bothered with this.
Only through physical contact could Kenley obtain precise details about Sylph's abilities and determine the best course of action.
"You're not an Elementalist, a Mage, a Priest, or a Cleric. How could you possibly see my elemental affinity?!" Sylph was visibly unconvinced.
That's it! That must be it!
This terrifying man had finally revealed his true colors. Yesterday, he held himself back, likely because he was too exhausted. But now? Now, she was trapped in this room with him, and she wasn't even his match in combat.
If he planned to take advantage of her, now would be the perfect moment!
The stories passed down by her people—the horrific tales of abuse and enslavement—flashed through her mind, making her tremble. Was this man planning to sell her to slavers? Or worse, to take advantage of her while she was defenseless?
He had woken up before them this morning—had he seen her body? Had it awakened his beastly desires? And now, he was using this excuse to get closer to her, to seize an opportunity when she wasn't paying attention…
Kenley took a step forward impatiently.
Sylph immediately retreated in fear."D-Don't come any closer!" she stammered in panic.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Kenley let out an exasperated sigh."Sylph, your Highness, could you stop thinking of yourself as some irresistible beauty? I just want to test your elemental affinity. I'm not going to eat you! Do you even want to join my party or not?"
"But… but forming a party doesn't require touching, does it? You're making things very difficult for me," Sylph insisted stubbornly.
Kenley rolled his eyes once again and turned around."Tia, she's the one refusing. Let's go. We have plenty of tasks to complete today."
Tia immediately panicked."Sylph, please trust Master! He would never harm you. I trust him with all my heart!"
Kenley shook his head and gave Tia another reminder."Tia."
Tia frowned before rushing to Sylph's side."Didn't we agree last night? I'd cover for you, and you'd take the opportunity to agree. You have no idea how incredible Master is! I can't explain all the details, but he knows the Imperial City inside and out. With him around, you'll avoid countless detours!"
Kenley didn't rush to leave. Instead, he deliberately paused to let Tia and Sylph talk, overhearing every word clearly.
With an amused smirk, he remarked,"What a pity—some people just don't appreciate kindness. Well, I'm no charity worker, Tia. Let's go. No need to waste any more time."
To be honest, If not for Tia being so obedient and endearing, he wouldn't have bothered dealing with Sylph. So what if there was a hidden quest? Was it a matter of life and death if he missed out on it? Kenley had plenty of ways to grow stronger on his own.
Finally, under Tia's persuasion and Kenley's taunts, Sylph gritted her teeth. She walked up to Kenley, stretched out her hand, blushing as she turned her face away."Fine, fine! Just touch already! Touch yourself to death, you scoundrel!"
Kenley chuckled."Now that's more like it. Just follow my instructions properly, and we wouldn't have to go through all this nonsense."
Without hesitation, he grasped Sylph's hand. She let out a small, frightened whimper, her entire demeanor resembling a helpless lamb about to be slaughtered—so delicate and fragile.
Kenley couldn't care less about what she was thinking. Instead, he focused his mind."Appraise!"
In an instant, Sylph's full status information was revealed before him.
Kenley froze on the spot.
What kind of terrifying talent is this?!
Under the Elemental Affinity section of her stats, all he could see were numbers that defied logic.
【Light Element Affinity: 100%】
【Dark Element Affinity: 100%】
【Wind Element Affinity: 100%】
【Fire Element Affinity: 100%】
【Water Element Affinity: 100%】
【Earth Element Affinity: 100%】
Is this what NPC-exclusive privileges look like? A straight-up bloodline inheritance?
Kenley immediately checked his own status panel. Same first-tier rank… yet all six of his elemental affinities were sitting at 0%!
How is this even fair?! How are players supposed to compete?!
Kenley felt like crying. The envy… the sheer envy!
If he had such an elemental affinity, he would have undoubtedly chosen the Mage class! While Warrior was his strongest class, Mage was a close second.
Of course, Elementalist was also a decent option, but when it came to PvP battles, Mages had far greater flexibility. Not that Elementalists were weak—far from it. In dungeons and monster raids, they were actually superior. If he had a choice, he'd definitely lean toward Elementalist in PvE content.
Wiping the cold sweat off his forehead, Kenley stared at Sylph."And you call that 'not particularly high'?"
Are you kidding me?! Every single one of them is at the highest possible level!
Then again, if he twisted the perspective a little, technically, none of them were "higher" than the others, since they were all at 100%.
Still, that's some next-level absurdity!
Sylph looked confused."You can see it?"
Kenley rolled his eyes. He didn't bother explaining and simply said,"Alright, I'm allowing you to join my party. But listen carefully—I am the leader. You will follow my commands. Understood?"
"But you haven't told me what my elemental affinity is yet."
To be honest, Sylph herself had no idea what her elemental affinity was like. She only vaguely remembered her father laughing as he praised her for inheriting his bloodline well, but he never elaborated beyond that.
