Chapter-4.5 (Interlude)

CALL LOG BETWEEN SEBASTIAN COLLINS AND A PRIVATE NUMBER

  DATED: 12-07-2522 at 8:45 am

ABC: Well, well, well. Look who finally came to their senses.

SEBASTIAN: Umm, hello, sir. It’s me, Sebastian. Maybe, you remember me from the other day when, you know…

ABC: I am quite aware of who you are, boy. Speak.

SEBASTIAN: So, yeah, listen. We uhh… we sort of need your help with a little mess.

ABC: Ah, yes. I remember. Last night’s big news. Quite the spectacular display, I must say.

SEBASTIAN: Well, yeah. Apparently, they think that she did it. She’s being held in the 86th Precinct. If we don’t help her, they’ll… they’ll…

ABC: I know full well what they do to traitors in this country. So, what do you offer?

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

  SEBASTIAN: Offer?

ABC: You don’t expect me to help her for free, do you?

SEBASTIAN: What? No, of course not! Umm… If you help us, I’ll make sure she agrees to work with you.

  ABC: For me.

SEBASTIAN: Yeah, for you. T-that’s what I said.

ABC: Hmm. Tempting, but not enough.

SEBASTIAN: What, seriously? Come on, man! Have a heart.

ABC: This has nothing to do with heart. My previous offer was for a mutually beneficial agreement. This is different. This time, you require my services.

SEBASTIAN: What if I offer my help in return?

  ABC: I’m listening.

SEBASTIAN: Look, I’ve been her guy in the chair for the last seven years. I’m crazy good with tech. And I can hack into just about anything. Whatever you’re planning to pull, you could use a guy like me. What do you say?

ABC: You’d best have thought this through, boy. This is not a game. Do you have any idea what you’ll be required to do? You could very well get killed.

SEBASTIAN: So, is that a yes or no?

ABC: Hahaha! You are truly a fascinating one, boy. I’m sure we’ll get along quite well.

SEBASTIAN: Okay. Great. I’ll uhh I’ll text you the plans. We’ll carry out the rescue in the evening, ‘mkay? And sir, thank you. Really, I mean it.

ABC: Likewise, boy. I suppose I’ll see you in the evening, then. Oh, and one last thing.

  SEBASTIAN: Y-yes?

ABC: If you so much as think about betraying me, I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth. Are we clear?

  SEBASTIAN: Y-y-yes, sir!

ABC: Farewell, boy. I hope this is the beginning of a lasting friendship.
