Chapter 7

The group gathered the next day at the training ground, a spacious area surrounded by trees that offered freedom and privacy for their activities.

—Today is officially our first day as a team —Miyuki announced, smiling with enthusiasm—. We're going to carry out some simple missions to assess your performance, both individually and as a group.

As she spoke, she began handing out papers she had prepared in advance. The missions were Grade D, and the content was exactly what one would expect: pest control, cleaning private areas, and taking care of farm animals. Although they weren't particurly complex tasks, each required time and patience.

—You have one hour to complete the missions —Miyuki continued, fixing her serious gaze on each of them—. This is not just an exercise; it's an opportunity to show what you can do as a team. I wish you all the best of luck.

With those words, she bid them farewell and disappeared in an instant, leaving them alone with the missions. Akihiro and the rest of the group exchanged disappointed gnces. They had hoped that their first day would be about training and learning new Ninjutsu, not facing such mundane tasks.

—I can't believe we're starting with this —muttered Akihiro, frowning as he examined one of the papers. His expression reflected the frustration of those yearning for something more exciting.

However, they knew they couldn't oppose it, especially since Miyuki was their superior. With a resigned sigh, they began to organize themselves and pn how to divide the tasks. Given that they only had one hour, it was impossible to complete the missions as a group, so they decided to split them up to have some chance of success.

Though the missions were simple, they were also the most tedious ones, those no one wanted to take on unless they were facing financial difficulties. Once the tasks were divided, they headed to their respective destinations.

The hour passed quickly. Aside from cleaning public areas, all the other missions took longer than expected. Taking care of the animals, in particur, turned out to be a challenge; Akihiro and Hiroshi dealt with uncooperative creatures, and their inexperience only complicated matters further. In the end, although they managed to complete the missions and earn a little money, they weren't happy.

The group returned to the training ground with an air of discouragement.

From a distance, Miyuki watched them come back and murmured with a slight blush on her cheeks:

—I should have given them more time.

She felt embarrassed; she had forgotten they were just Genin. For a Chunin, completing all the missions in an hour was a piece of cake; even half an hour would be sufficient. She thought they would manage it easily as a group.

—You guys did a good job —Miyuki said, ignoring the intense looks directed at her—. Although you didn't complete the tasks in the allotted time, I will still give you your rewards.

—You can ask me for any D-rank jutsu you want —she added, trying to lift the group's spirits.

  Miyuki's words surprised the group.

—Really? Can we choose any D-rank jutsu? —Akihiro asked, his eyes shining with interest.

—That's right —Miyuki replied with a smile—. Consider this a compensation for the effort you made today. But remember, a jutsu is only as good as the ninja who uses it. Make sure to practice it well.

The group began discussing among themselves, each expressing their wishes and preferences. Hiroshi, always enthusiastic, jumped into the conversation.

—I want to learn a Lightning jutsu; it sounds amazing! —he excimed, gesturing excitedly.

Akihiro, thinking of his own style, said:

—I would like to learn a D-rank Cloning jutsu.

As the group exchanged ideas, Miyuki watched with satisfaction as her team started to bond. Although the day hadn't begun as they had hoped, these small decisions began to strengthen their ties.

Finally, after a while of deliberation, everyone made their choices. Once the names of the jutsus were noted down, Miyuki prepared to teach them.

—Alright, now that you have your selections, let's move on to practice. Since there are three of you, I’ll teach you the most important thing, starting with Chakra Control.

The group sat down while Miyuki stood.

—Chakra Control is essential for any ninja technique —she continued—. Without good control, even the most powerful jutsu can fail. We'll start by practicing the concentration technique.

Miyuki showed them how to improve their chakra control in a simple way.

—Now, I want you to try to bance a leaf in your hand using only your chakra. It’s not easy, but with practice, you’ll succeed —she instructed.

Hiroshi was the first to try. He extended his hand, and after several attempts, he managed to keep the leaf in pce for a few seconds before it fell. Despite his frustration, his ughter echoed in the air.

—This is harder than it looks! —he excimed, shaking his head.

Akihiro and Hiroshi continued, while Miyuki kept a close eye on their progress. After several attempts, they all finally managed to bance the leaf, albeit only for brief moments.

—That's a good start, although for now it’s simple. In the future, we will gradually increase the difficulty. Eventually, you’ll have such perfect control that you’ll be able to stand on water.

—For now, we'll leave it here, and we’ll continue in our next session —Miyuki concluded, smiling with satisfaction at her students' progress.

The group said their goodbyes. The next day was simir, completing a few simple missions, this time without a time limit or any of that nonsense. Once the missions were finished, they would have a training session.

Time passed, and half a month flew by.
