Chapter 02

  Time went flying by again and by now it is my sixth birthday.

  In the last 5 years I learned a lot more about this World. I live in the Golden Dragon Kingdom, which name is influenced by a powerful golden Dragon that lived centuries ago and was capable of shape shifting. An Ancestor, of the royal family, was apparently born by a union of said Dragon and a Hero of old. Since then, they cherish their [Golden Dragon Bloodline] Trait and named the Kingdom after the Dragon.

  I have also met the rest of my Family.

  My Father’s first wife Antonia. She is the Daughter of a Count and that’s the most she brings to the table. Her current class is [Noble Mistress] and does not sound too amazing for a [Tier 2] Class at Level 63. In comparison my Mother told me she is Level 180 and her current [Tier 3] Class is [War-Bishop].

  The second wife Konstanzia is a Level 81 [Tier 2] [Noble Shadow-Dancer]. She is from a Barony and like the first wife, quite focused on her noble status. They are also both normal Humans.

  Neither of them are really likable for me, it is not like they mistreat me, we just ignore each other. Seems like each mother in this household only cares for their own. On that note, I also have 5 older half siblings.

  The oldest is Petrus and he apparently already joined some knight Order.

  The second oldest Laureen is studying at the royal academy, together with the third oldest, the twins, Brain and Aubrey.

  At last the youngest of my older siblings, Cedric and him I really don’t like.

  He is my only sibling that is home and always goes on about, how he, as the son of the first wife, is so much more important and whatever else that idiot can think of … good thing he always clings to his mother and by that, away from me.

  While I also spent a good amount of time with my mother, this was mostly to help out with various little problems. She is really good at motivating people with just the right incentives and rewards. Spending time with her always makes me happy and more motivated. I also started doing more things on my own, while I previously would never have bothered to do so. Good thing too, because you can get XP from various tasks, from cleaning your room to doing little fetch quests. It is not a big amount, but with time it already brought me to lv. 8, really close to lv. 9 [898/900 XP].

  Right now I am on my way to Elaine, she is 12 years old, the daughter of a maid in our family mansion and recently started to work here. She is also the one I spent most my time with.

  I finally arrive at the servants quarters and nock at her room’s door. A few seconds later she opens her door and I can see a cute 12 year old girl with big white furry fox ears, tail, equally white Hair very pale skin and red sparkling eyes. She in an albino fox-beastkin. I activate [Identify].

  “Hello Ben, are you here to spend some time together ?”

  “Uhh? right, I wanted to invite you, since it’s my sixth birthday, father and mother wanted to make a small celebration, later to day and you are the one I spent most of my time with and wanted to invite you.”

  “If that’s alright, then I’ll be there”

  “Ok, see you then, I’ll go for now, my father also wanted to talk to me before that”

  ‘Huh I really was quite close to level up. Delivering a message does count as a [task] but not for your own, well the idea to invite her was my mother’s… not really important, let’s see what I achieved so far’

  I arrive at my Fathers Study and knock on his Door. After being invited in, I enter the room to see his imposing body sitting behind his gigantic ebony Desk, stacked with Documents he is working on.

  He looks at me with a serious expression and says:

  “Son, we have to talk. Today is your sixth birthday, so you are old enough to start training, that way you can learn certain skills that you need. Those are necessary to unlock certain [Classes]. You will need that extra strength if you want to reach for greater heights and there is a limit to how far I can help you. Because you are my youngest son and your mother is of no Noble descent. In light of those circumstances, you are by far, the last in line to inherit. That means besides already being the lowest stage of a Noble, a Lord of the Robe, there will most likely nothing else you can inherit from me. That is most likely the reason why your stepmothers chose to ignore you instead of going against you. While I try to stop any infighting, I know it happens between your older siblings. You can only go a similar path to me. While thanks to my Father being a Duke, to which I have proven myself, I was able to start as a Baron with a little piece of land. Now I am a Viscount with considerable Power, through my own effort. I have already noticed that you are, about twice as powerful in Mind and Body than normal for a Level 9, even with the [Epic] Class [Blessed Child], so you could probably achieve even more, especially after you turn 10 and don’t have to deal with the stat reduction anymore”

  ‘Huh, does that mean he doesn’t see my other Class ?’

  “While being on the Object of you being level 9. I would recommend to wait advancing your Class, at least until you finish your basic training. Even if you reach level 10 before that. Do you have any questions?”

  “What kind of skills can I learn outside of my Class skills and which would you recommend to have before my Class advancement ?”

  “Nearly all Skills can be learned at least the [lesser] stage of it. The more abstract or powerful the longer it usually takes to learn a skill, from years to centuries depending on the Skill. The Skills I recommend, you learn, before advancing are [lesser Hand-to-Hand Combat Arts], [lesser Knife Arts], [lesser Shield Arts], [lesser Mana Control], [lesser Meditation] and the corresponding [lesser] Skill of any weapon that strikes your fancy, but [Sword Arts] are recommended for any Noble”

  “When will my training start and who will be my trainer ?”

  “You will start tomorrow morning and your mother insisted on training with you, but I also hired a professional [Master Trainer] to help things along.”

  “That would be all I wanted to ask for now”

  “Good, if there are any questions in the Future, that your mother or trainer can’t answer, don’t hesitate to find me. Now go I still have some work to do before your mother throws your little celebration.”

  “Good Luck Father”

  With these Words I leave his Study, to go and prepare for whatever mom has planned.
