Episode 9: Bridge Blockade! The Brawlers Creative Solutions!!

The morning sun hung lazily over the horizon as Kouchu and his friends made their way down the beaten path toward Blossomite City—bright dreams in their eyes, snacks in their packs, and determination in their hearts.

But not every path can be walked so easily.

  ?

  Scene: Roadblock Ahead

A cluster of orange cones, flashing signs, and very grumpy construction workers met them at the mouth of the valley road. One particularly stern construction leader slammed a sign into the dirt.

  Construction Chief (grumbling):

“Bridge is out. Road’s closed due to pollution damage. No crossing until repairs are done. Might take… a week.”

Kouchu (slamming his hands on the sign):

“A WEEK?! I’ve got a medal match to get to! I can’t miss it, not after all that mushroom drama!”

  Shauna (crossing her arms):

“Don’t tell me your dream’s going to be taken down by a bunch of cones.”

  Sakuro (sighing):

“If we can’t cross legally, we’ll need to get creative.”

  Roaracryst (tilting his head):

“I could try throwing everyone across. I’ve been working out.”

  Mouselette (nervously):

“I’d prefer not to be thrown like a baseball, thanks.”

  ?

  Scene: Trial and (Funny) Error

  Narration:

Thus began the team’s very unorthodox attempt at getting across.

? First, Plantmore stretched his leaf-like vines across the gorge like a leafy bridge—only for Ninecoat to walk halfway across and sneeze pollen all over them, causing a collapse into a bushy heap.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

? Then, Shauna attempted to bribe the construction workers with Shauna’s Famous Burnt Cookies?, but they were promptly tossed into the canyon as evidence of a potential health hazard.

? Lastly, Kouchu built a raft from snack boxes and duct tape. It lasted approximately thirty seconds before Roaracryst jumped and punctured it.

Sakuro (pinching the bridge of his nose):

“How are any of us still alive…?”

  ?

Scene: Enter Port, the Seafaring Crystal Monster

Just as hope began to slip, the sound of water splashing from a hidden cove called their attention.

From the gentle waves emerged Port, a slick, smooth-skinned aquatic Crystal Monster with a shell like a kayak and fins like propellers.

  Port (cheerfully):

“Hey there, travelers! You look lost… or just really bad at building things.”

  Kouchu (eyes sparkling):

“A water Crystal Monster! Can you help us cross to Blossomite?”

  Port (grinning):

“Of course! Hop on, just don’t drop any chips in my blowhole.”

  ?

Scene: The Crossing & the Chaos

With all their Crystal Monsters and supplies carefully balanced aboard Port’s shell, the crew set sail across the river that bypassed the broken bridge.

The journey was smooth—until the current began to rage.

Suddenly, the waters churned unnaturally. Whirlpools twisted like mischievous dancers, and bubbles rose with eerie rhythm.

Octomites burst from the depths—tentacled tricksters who were causing the disturbances to mess with migrating sea Crystal Monsters.

  Octomite (gleeful):

“Let’s see who can swim when the tides turn!”

  Port (gritting his fins):

“Everyone, hold on tight! These guys are pranksters with too many arms!”

  Roaracryst (yelling):

“Kouchu, they’re trying to flip us like pancakes!”

  Kouchu (panicking):

  “I don’t want to be a pancake!!”

  ?

  Scene: Taming the Currents

Mouselette leapt onto a rogue Octomite, squeaking with determination as she tickled its tentacles, confusing it into a dizzy spin.

Ninecoat fired bursts of heat into the water, sending steam clouds that masked the team from the other Octomites.

  Port (calm but firm):

  “Enough!”

With a mighty surge, Port created a sonic pulse underwater—a soothing tone that reverberated through the river. The Octomites slowly calmed, their mischief faded into giggles, then yawns.

  Octomite Leader (drowsy):

“Fine, fine… we’ll behave. No more spin parties… for now.”

They vanished beneath the water, leaving Port and the crew in peace.

  ?

  Scene: Safe Landing

As dry land came into view, the brawlers stumbled onto shore like soaked laundry.

  Kouchu (flopping onto the grass):

“That was more drama than Shauna’s hairdryer incident.”

  Shauna (drying her boots):

“I told you not to bring that up!”

  Roaracryst (grinning):

  “Still, you gotta admit—kinda fun!”

  Sakuro (quietly):

“And we made it. Medal #2… here we come.”

  Port (floating by):

“Good luck, medal chasers! And remember—no chips in the river!”

  ?

  Narration:

With soggy shoes and soggier egos, the brawlers pressed forward. The next town awaited, and with it, a new challenge.

But Kouchu Misako’s dream doesn’t wait for calm waters. He rides every wave—chaotic, churning, or otherwise.
