Episode 10: Rebecca’s Test! Kouchus Redemption!!

The gates of Blossomite City rose before them like a kingdom of petals—sunlight filtering through hanging vines, the air perfumed with florals, and an endless chorus of chirping Crystal Monsters fluttering from bloom to bloom.

For Kouchu Misako, this was more than a city of flowers—it was the battlefield for his next big step toward becoming a Master Champion.

  Kouchu (eyes sparkling):

“This place smells like victory… or pollen. Could be both.”

  Roaracryst (sneezing):

“If it’s pollen, I’m blaming the flower with the mustache back there.”

  ?

Scene: The Medal Field – Blossomite City Arena

At the center of a lush forest clearing surrounded by wooden stadium seating, the group approached a peaceful yet commanding figure in a green-and-pink training outfit.

A woman with a crown of flower petals stood still, arms crossed behind her back. Her long grass-colored hair swayed gently with the breeze.

  Shauna (eyes narrowed):

“She must be Rebecca. Looks all soft and flowery, but I bet she’s ruthless.”

  Sakuro (nodding):

“Don’t underestimate flower users. They’re deceptively strategic.”

  Rebecca (smiling kindly):

“Welcome, challenger. I am Rebecca, caretaker of Blossomite and holder of its medal. To earn it, you must pass the Test of the Wise… and the Forest.”

  Kouchu (clenching his fists):

“Bring it on! Me and Roaracryst are stronger than ever!”

  ?

Scene: The First Test – Forest Sports Challenge

  Narration:

The challenge? A multi-stage obstacle course through a living forest—traps set by Crystal Monster vines, swinging pollen clouds, slippery moss logs, and most dangerous of all: the psychological pressure of calm decision-making.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

  Kouchu… did not thrive.

? He tripped on the second moss log.

? Mistook a Crystal Monster for a branch (apologized profusely).

? Tried to outrun a pollen gust and ran into a tree.

? Roaracryst got tangled in a vine he thought was a jump rope.

  Rebecca (politely):

“You have spirit… but you lack clarity.”

  Kouchu (flat on the ground):

“…Did I win the medal yet?”

  Shauna (facepalming):

“He thinks concussion is a win condition.”

  ?

  Scene: Kouchu’s Low Point

Later that day, Kouchu sat alone on the edge of a flowerbed, Roaracryst beside him, licking his pollen-covered fur.

  Kouchu (mumbling):

“I blew it… I can’t even pass a forest maze. How am I supposed to be a Master Champion?”

  Roaracryst (softly):

“Hey. You’re still my brawler, even if you walk into trees.”

  Shauna (coming up behind them):

“You lost because you rushed. You didn’t think, just acted. Even I can admit when I need help.”

Sakuro (placing a hand on Kouchu’s shoulder):

“I know someone who might help Roaracryst grow stronger… and help you learn to think before punching a tree.”

  ?

Scene: Mr. Bleam’s Laboratory – Blossomite’s Old Gardener

  Narration:

At the edge of the city, tucked under a giant blossom tree, lived Mr. Bleam, an eccentric older man with half-moon glasses, a lab coat covered in flower stickers, and a giant carrot Crystal Monster named Rootaroo.

  Mr. Bleam (cheerfully):

“So you want to upgrade your furry friend? Well, we’ll need pollen samples, a focusing gem, and three perfect petals from a Singsprout!”

  Kouchu (excited):

“Yes, sir! I’ll get the petals! Right after I find out what a Singsprout is!”

  Narration:

The group helped gather what was needed. With a loud zap, Roaracryst glowed—his paws pulsed with energy, his eyes sparkled, and green-hued shurikens blossomed along his limbs.

  Mr. Bleam (beaming):

“Your little buddy now has Photospark—a radiant burst that stuns plant-based enemies. Use it wisely!”

  ?

  Scene: Rematch at the Forest

Back in the forest field, Rebecca awaited, arms folded, her Crystal Monster Floralia blooming behind her, petals like chakrams.

  Rebecca (raising an eyebrow):

  “You return?”

  Kouchu (with a confident grin):

“This time, we’ll stop and think… then throw shuriken.”

The challenge restarted—Kouchu navigated carefully. He anticipated the traps, communicated with Roaracryst.

Roaracryst launched his new Photospark—light scattered through the branches like stained glass, dazing Floralia just long enough to land the final strike.

  Rebecca (bowing):

“You’ve learned. Take this, warrior of impulse turned thinker of the field.”

  [Kouchu earned the Blossomite Medal!]

  ?

Scene: Road to Shuriken City Begins

That evening, the group gathered their bags, medals gleaming in the sunset light.

  Shauna (smirking):

“Two medals in. You still plan on becoming a Master Champion?”

  Kouchu (clutching the medal):

“You bet! And I’m only getting started.”

  Roaracryst (grinning):

“Just try not to fight another tree on the way.”

  Sakuro (sighing):

“I’m going to have to make a tree safety checklist, aren’t I?”

  ?

  Narration:

Through loss came growth. Through doubt came strength. And with the second medal earned, Kouchu and friends set their sights toward the misted spires of Shuriken City—where even sharper challenges awaited.
