Chapter 33 : Preparation 2

During the following days, all the pyers trained harder.

At that time, a new coach was also assigned to assist with free-kick training. He was Liam's manager, someone who deeply understood free kicks.

During that process, all pyers were also trained to take free kicks. However, only a few names met the requirements.Besides free kicks, some pyers also practiced penalty kicks, corner kicks, and even throw-ins.

Every pyer practiced basic football seriously. The young geniuses also seemed happy with the training; they felt stronger every day. Duvant, Lucien, Mike, Eden, and the other pyers' holographic stats began to rise, as did their ratings.

And my retionship with Cassandra? It was business as usual. I only just found out about the sales of my merchandise. But if it benefits the team, then it's not a problem.

The negotiation process for the winter transfer window had reached a breakthrough. We couldn't buy pyers right now due to a ck of transfer funds.

Therefore, the transfer process will be completed during the winter transfer window. However, during that time, we still needed to find additional pyers because our current roster was very thin, especially with the League Two schedule being too tight.

A team dominated by young pyers like us had to be careful. But to get additional pyers, we needed someone on the ground.

Someone who could be a bridge to find and report on every talented pyer.

Yes, we needed a scout. With my abilities, being a scout would certainly be easy.

However, it was impossible when I had to coach and be with the team for half the season.

Utilizing future knowledge to get great young pyers was possible. However, we were at a point where we couldn't buy just any pyer.

Some of the pyers on my list were currently impossible to contact. Therefore, the presence of a scout was very important."We really need eyes out there," Reinhart muttered more to himself.

Finding a scout was easy, but finding a quality scout was very difficult. Bradford's current financial situation made it quite difficult to use the services of just any scout.

Utilizing future knowledge was also useless because those scouts' names weren't heard too often. They were important figures but difficult to know.

Even if asked to choose, it would be easier to remember a team's lineup than the name of their scout. As a deadlock filled his mind, Reinhart remembered someone's name, one of his childhood friends besides Reina and Cassandra.

Suddenly, a memory fshed through his mind, a fleeting memory from his past that felt so distant.

An old friend, from South Korea, who went to the same school as Reinhart in Bradford. He was an eccentric figure who was always obsessed with football, watching every league from any corner of the world.

He was an annoying person who, if humans spoke seven words in one sentence, he would speak seventy words in one sentence. A very long-winded and bothersome man, but on the other hand, he was someone who understood Reinhart very well.

He was also the person the club needed most right now. Reinhart began to recall fragments of his past memories when that person and his words, which were often dismissed as unimportant back then, now echoed clearly in his ears.

"Kylian Mbappe will be a great pyer," he said that when Mbappe had just joined AS Monaco...

"Lamine Yamal will be a future star," those words even came out when Yamal was still part of La Masia Academy...

"Hmm, Kvara or whatever his name is, he also seems like he'll be an expensive pyer."

And what surprised him the most was when they were still in school uniforms and Reinhart had just joined a local club, his friend confidently pointed to several ordinary pyers and said, "They will be quite good." And look now, those names grace the stage of professional football, some in League One, the Championship, and even La Liga.

"That guy... Min Sung." Reinhart, who had been silent while looking at the documents, suddenly spoke, startling Cassandra. Especially when he mentioned that name.

"Min Sung? Why did you suddenly mention him, Rein?" asked Cassandra, who was certainly familiar with that name.Reinhart didn't answer; he immediately grabbed his phone with a swift movement. He remembered, Min Sung would definitely answer his call.

After completing rigorous military education, he should currently be working at a small Korean club with a low sary. He still remembered the contents of Min Sung's email, full of compints because he wasn't used to military training.

A disaster email with 200,000 words, because of my firm personality, I was forced to read it all the way through. The day after I finished that email, I ended up with a nosebleed.

After finding his contact, he pressed the call button. The ringing tone sounded several times before a cheerful voice on the other end answered.

"Hahahaha! Reinhart! My friend bbb... it's been so long! Are you doing well? How's your job? Do you have a girlfriend yet?..." Min Sung's voice boomed, typical of his never-ending chatter.

Reinhart took a deep breath, trying not to be provoked by Min Sung's long-winded speaking habits. "Min Sung," he interrupted with the firm tone he usually used on the field, "I have a job offer for you."

A moment of silence hung on the phone line. "A job? What kind of job all of a sudden?" Min Sung asked with a curious yet slightly suspicious tone. "Wait a minute... aren't you currently at Saint-étienne? Are you offering me a job there?"

  "No," Reinhart answered briefly.

"I'm currently coaching a team in Engnd. The fourth tier, or League Two."

A rather long pause could be heard from the other end. "League Two? In Engnd? Didn't we go to school in the Bradford area?" Min Sung sounded surprised.

"That's right. I'm coaching Bradford City now," Reinhart replied. "And I want you to be a scout for my club."

A dry ugh echoed from the other end.

"You're kidding, right? Me? A scout? I'm just a scout for a small team in the Korean league, Reinhart. Are you sure you have the right person?" Min Sung's tone sounded skeptical and doubtful of his own abilities.

Then he remembered something and asked, "How are Reina and Cassandra doing? It's been so long since I heard about them."

Before Reinhart had a chance to answer, Cassandra, who had been listening to the conversation all along, chimed in softly, "We're doing well, Min. In fact, Reina and I are currently working at the same team as Reinhart."

A surprised sound came from Min Sung.

"Reina is working there too? Wow... this is really unexpected." There was a new tone of enthusiasm in his voice.

"In that case... I'm more interested in your offer, Reinhart." Reinhart was quite surprised; he briefly wondered if there was something between Min Sung and Reina. Then he shook his head and focused on Min Sung.

"That's precisely why I contacted you,"

Reinhart replied. "You've always had an incredible instinct for seeing pyer potential.

I remember everything you said about Mbappe, Yamal, even the pyers at our local club back then. You have a sharp eye, Min Sung. That's what I need."

"But... I'm not sure. This is the English league, the level is much different. I..."

"Listen to me," Reinhart interrupted with a more convincing tone.

"My team is going through a difficult time. We're short on pyers, and the winter transfer window is still far away. We need talented young pyers, pyers that maybe not many people know about yet, who we can get for an affordable price or even for free. You are the right person to find them."

Min Sung was silent for a moment, seemingly seriously considering the offer. "The winter transfer window... so, you can't buy pyers now?" he asked with a slightly surprised tone.

"That's right. That's why your role is so important. We currently don't have transfer funds. Therefore, your role is to find pyers who fit the team's specifications, pyers with potential or talented pyers, maybe even pyers who are considered failures but have something special. I'm sure you'll find a pyer from one of those categories. Then, most importantly, the pyer must be cheap. If possible, free."

Reinhart then added, "Your role is very important; you're the only one I can trust right now. Please."

Hearing his old friend, who very rarely asked for anything, suddenly plead, made Min Sung slowly understand the situation. Then he finally decided, "Okay, I'll join."

In the brief silence, Min Sung's tone suddenly became more enthusiastic.

"Wait a minute! What a coincidence, there's a young pyer at my current club... he's very interesting. I found him myself. His name is... Park Elías Jae Min. It just so happens that he's a pyer the club doesn't pay much attention to. Because it seems they don't really trust newcomers like me, hehe, and his price is very cheap."

Hearing that name, Reinhart was surprised and asked again, "Park Elías Jae Min? Are you sure you heard right?"

"Yes, he does have a unique name because his father is from Korea and his mother is from Spain," Min Sung quickly replied.

Then Reinhart quickly spoke, "Bring him here right now. No need to wait for the winter transfer window. Let him train in our youth academy. Wait, let him learn English first."

Reinhart's sudden enthusiasm slightly surprised Min Sung.

"That fast? But he's still very young, only fourteen years old. Wait, about the nguage, he's somehow already fluent in English thanks to his older brother."

Hearing that, Reinhart became even more enthusiastic. "That's even better,"

Reinhart replied with a satisfied tone. "Good job, Min Sung." Without hesitation, Reinhart added, "I'll give you a substantial performance bonus for this."

"A bonus? For one pyer?" Min Sung asked with a surprised and confused tone. "Why all of a sudden...?"

"Don't worry about it. Now, your job is to travel around and find more great pyers. Let Cassandra handle all your accommodation and needs while you're scouting."

Min Sung sounded cheerful on the other end of the phone. "Alright! I understand! I'll take care of everything right away." The phone line went dead.

Reinhart leaned back in his chair, feeling a slight relief from the burden on his shoulders. Cassandra looked at him with a curious gaze. "Are you sure Min Sung is the right person?" she asked with a smile.

"Yes," Reinhart replied with a rare, thin smile on his face. "He might be the key to overcoming our problems. Oh yeah, Cassandra, please take care of Park Elías Jae Min's contract."

"Alright, I'll contact Min Sung to process this contract," Cassandra then began preparing the contract and administration.

Reinhart then breathed a sigh of relief. He then remembered the question Min Sung had asked, "Why are you paying me so much just for bringing in one pyer?" Reinhart's usually ft and cold face, like a dictator, suddenly showed a hint of warmth.

He smiled faintly and whispered softly,

"You did only bring in one pyer, Min Sung. But that pyer... will be the first Asian Ballon d'Or winner. Wouldn't it be natural to give commensurate praise?"

In his mind, Reinhart was already imagining the bright future that the boy named Park Elías Jae Min might bring.

Although off the field he was known as a harsh figure, deep down, Reinhart was a coach who wanted the best for his team, even if it meant relying on the strange instincts of an old friend from Korea.
