The rest of the day passed just as quickly as it came, when Ivy and I had our css together, she told me that she wanted us to discuss the whereabouts of our younger siblings. As I left the academy and walked across the bridge to the dorms, i noticed that everyone had gotten there before me.
“There she is, you’re the st person we were waiting on” Ivy smiled as she scooted over to leave space for me. As soon as I sat down, ssher started speaking.
“So, you know where the two of em are?”
I paused for a moment, “kind of, I have a general area but I don’t know who or what has them or where specifically they are..”
“Where’s the general area?” Chris responded
“Deeper in the woods behind the school, whoever has them, they clearly want to keep it a secret”
“That gives us another question, why those two specifically?” Jackson asked
“Well, Mira got abandoned when she was very young, and scarra disappeared very early in her life too, they are of course very powerful beings but they are also very easy to influence, given their abandonment, they basically are walking targets.”
“And you have no idea who has them?” Akira said looking at me
“Not at all..they have left no tracks whatsoever.”
“And how do we know that those two don’t want to be there?” Ivan interjected
“Mira would’ve tried to reach out to us, there’s also no sign of them anywhere that isn’t many years old, if they were free there would still be traces of them somewhere, and nobody has seen them in the god realms either.”
Chris looked at me “Now that’s unusual, all of us have to go there a few times per month to check up on our duties, them not being there signals that something definitely happened, especially for Mira, she loves her job”
Ssher crossed her arms “Then what can we do? We have little to no leads and we don’t even know who has them”
“We have one lead, I went walking near the woods and I saw something, a trace of god magic, it didn’t look like Mira’s, so it had to be scarras, which tells us they’re in those woods, and that Scarra has some free roam, Mira may not have that freedom”
Akira raised an eyebrow “why wouldn’t she have free will?”
“Mira may be kind, but she’s sneaky, they probably put some kind of curse or spell over her because she can get out of practically anything.” Chris replied
“A curse..” I thought for a moment “that sounds like, corruption, but that doesn’t make sense, only gods can do that, unless, it’s a god” everyone went silent, looking at me worriedly “but then…why can’t I pick up on their magical signature?”
Ivy spoke “maybe they’re in a human form? Like you guys?”
“Negative” Chris retorted “we can sense other gods even in human disguises”
“I have an idea, we can take traces of that magic I saw in the woods and use that to track down what magic that person uses, for gods, only a select few people have a specific element, and many have sub-elements, like the Demi gods, we get that result, we find our god.
“Of course! However, why would a god get into the lives of humans? Or Demi gods?” Jackson asked
“I’m not sure, but, I have heard rumors of some gods wanting to take over, that must be what’s at py here”
Ssher sighed “Geez, I would’ve figured that would be the case…we better hope that those two are still themselves by the time we get there”
“Hold on a moment” Ivy spoke up “you mentioned corruption, what is that?” She said looking at me.
“Oh, right, corruption is a curse that can be used by gods of any kind, it makes the person a living puppet basically, usually it’s used to help keep bad or unstable people calm but It can also be used to keep people quiet, and to force them to do their bidding.”
Chris shivered “it’s creepy is what it is, the only people who can reverse it are other gods, which is why we need to find out who exactly is doing this.” Everyone became silent, before Ivy spoke up again
“Right, we have our pn, thankfully, csses are only on specific days so tomorrow we can set it into action, everyone agree?” All of us nodded and hummed in agreement, but we had no idea what was really in store for us when we went looking.
