I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and I want to revise this story. It’s great as it is now, I love the characters and the world- but it could be so much better with some more work.
The original draft version here will stay up, I have no plans to delete it. Once I finish the revised version, I will release it on a separate story page (will be linked here once its up). I’ll wait until its all done so I can keep to a consistent upload schedule.
General things I want to improve:
- A brand new arc at the end of volume 2 (no spoilers!)
- Rewriting dialogue and important character moments
- Adding in some new scenes
- Larger and more consistently sized chapters
- A little more world/character descriptions
One big thing- I will only be revising the first two volumes. To be honest, I think the third volume’s a bit of a mess, and finished it despite knowing I wanted to scrap the whole thing for something better anyways. The biggest reason for my decision is that it’s a fallback plan- worst case scenario, this revised version might not get finished, and without a proper ending the series would be stuck in limbo, like an SMBZ situation. It’s also just kind of cool to have a noncanon boss character, who knows, I might use that fusion for something in the future.

I have some thoughts about an entirely new Count Boogula villain who could star in a new volume, but that’s all theoretical, I’ll wait until the revision’s finished before I decide whether to commit to that or not.
Alright, enough rambling. My recommendation is that if you’d like to reread Count Boogula’s adventure with better writing and a bit of extra content, you might want to check out the revised edition once it drops (will drop the link here). If not, thanks for reading this far. My apologies if you really want me to continue writing more adventures, or wished I wrote a better ending. Hey, I even agree with that last part, too.
