Staring in Horror as the granny was gulped in one big gulp. This was not fire for him. Horace screamed, “AHHH MUM LET’S GET OUT I DON’T WANT US TO GET EATEN!~”
The monster was standing—and very clearly visibly—not under the bed like that old fairy tale goes, no cap. It seemed to be enjoying itself. Silently, it rubbed its middle like a belly overjoyed at the tasty pasty granny meal.
Alrighty then. Time to up the dramatics again, Amelia began to charge slowly at the big boss monster. She showed off her strong skill set already. Now…it was time to show what happens when your skills aren’t good enough.
It seemed to chuckle as she barely jogged towards it. Her footsteps were intentionally heavy and sluggish, an easy way of baiting the monster into attacking her. A large wooden hand extended from the bedpost far to the sides. With a swooshing motion and gust of wind, it flew across the room like a bad game of jump rope.
She yelled out “WOAH!” as she ducked its second attack. The second bedpost hand came as a surprise even to her, tearing up the ground, flinging chunks of stone over to the sides. “Hey you, plank off!” she shouted as it threw a large chair piece at her. She threw one back at it and with a large THWACK, its tiny little leg gave way, and it fell over.
She gave it the finger shouting “SUCK MY TOE CHEESE~” in celebration.

Unbeknownst to Horace. It’s only because Amelia is an absolute unit of a Huundhan and has the strength to dominate a boss with such a move. That and this is something she tried in a previous run. 10000 hours to mastery or was it insanity… who knows anymore.
Amelia turned around to Horace. Now he was slightly less scared than before. He could see his mum smiling away at him and stretching high into the sky. The boss wasn’t quite finished yet, however. It recovered from its chair smack, stood back up and became just a few per cent more peeved than before.
A blinding flash came from the bedsheet-like middle, filling the entire arena. Amelia was unfazed, this was the reason she wore her goggles. Heh, catch me without mah specs, how bout dat! she joked in her thoughts. It was blocking the debilitating move the boss used with ease. Though she was still playing amateur dramatics as part of her plan, “Ahhh~ ooo~, I can’t see. Horace careful luv, make sure you stay away, ahh~”
Seriously, why has no one contacted Child Protective Services yet?
Amelia didn’t want Horace to lose his mind completely, of course. She’s not that loony. Knowing full well that the final phase happens after the next attack, she took a potion from her inventory.
Mum’s special brew
Effects: ???
Bottoms up! She drank it in one go. She had her buzz on now, one that bordered on shaking her green shimmering bits off as the energy surged throughout her. Amelia aimed down the sights and fired off. The blowback threw Horace back at the wall, and the bolt tore clean through Bed Boss.
The light returned to normal, and Horace could see the feathers flying around from the boss and where it was coming from. “Alright, let’s do this!” Amelia shouted with determination
