I Fear the Man

Just like fate spinning on a wheel,

  I heard a tale that wouldn’t heal.

  I fear the man.

  For do he love?

  I fear the stars,

  tranquil above.

A way in which I’ll never be,

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

I don’t think there will ever be

another to love such as me.

I fear his power, I fear his wit.

I wonder if it’s me he will quit.

I fear his power, I fear his pain.

I wonder what it’s like to hang

  another with all your sorrow.

Tell me ain’t it grand to be hollow?

  I fear his power.

He’ll crush through blood and bone

to dig quite clear to my sacred zone.

There, my treasure, he will see,

all that scares and belies me.

He’d carry out my tarnish soul

and leave open the very hole.

I fear the man, I fear his heart!

I fear the living in the dark!

I fear he’ll leave if I’m too big, too thin.

Cannot he love which lies within?
