Chapter 15

"Come on, man! We don't wanna slow down!" Greb hissed as he looked at the idiot who tailed him. Strictly speaking, the Eight Fingers did not care who they recruited as long as they could do their job right, but this did not mean they could just rex without being punished.

"Fuck off, we're literally close to it," the piece of shit said with a grin. "Just sit back and rex, man. There's nothing following us, and the two bitches about to attack the pce won't arrive until next week."

"Shut the fuck up!" Greb pushed the dumbass off his feet. "Do you really think they won't do anything to us? You better get moving, or else I'm gonna kick your ass myself. Or I'll leave you behind."

  "Listen, asshole—"

"Fuck! You wanna be zy? Then go be fucking zy!" Greb looked away and walked faster. The asshole had already wasted most of his time; he wasn't gonna let him do it more.

"Fine! Fuck, man! Can't even take a break with this shit."

He heard footsteps behind him but ignored them. See? The dumbass finally saw the need to actually get moving. He was scared of what would happen to them if they got caught cking, after all.

Behind the two men, something moved. It skittered across the loamy soil using six legs, its car-sized frame hidden from view thanks to the machine utilizing the common blind spot of the organism it recognized as humans—one of the many species the unit's operator had coded it to follow after once they had been spotted.

There had been two of them yesterday, but the sudden appearance of a likely target—a pair of twins the units had recognized to be wearing "ninja" gear—had caused one of them to deviate from their grouping initiative and follow after the pair. The unit that had parted from this one then reyed important information regarding a location, one they would attack as it was a stronghold of something called "The Eight Fingers."

Pattern recognition, combined with context clues, human behavioral habits, and the likelihood of a person's target of interest based on their profession, led the machines to conclude that the Eight Fingers must be a criminal organization. There had been nothing in their internal commands indicating they should investigate the organization, but given that they had a drone to spare, the units decided to follow both leads at the same time.

So far, this had led ST-UN 0004 to tail these two male humans in their quest to find a base belonging to the criminal organization. The unit moved silently beneath the shadow of the trees despite its hulking frame, not a single sound whirring from its bulk as it stalked the two humans, who were unaware of its presence.

A command from the unit's operator had ordered it to gauge the strength of the locals, and so far, the unit was unimpressed. It had sent a data packet containing its test conclusions across the world for the operator to receive, but even with magic boosting its produced radio waves, the resistance the pnetary atmosphere pushed against its message would slow it down by a day. No matter. The unit would simply continue to stalk its quarry until it received further instructions.

According to its st command, interference was only necessary once it found a likely leader of an intelligent race. The two humanoids it was following had a high likelihood of leading the unit to one such individual, but so far, they had done nothing but move through the forest.

  Maybe in time...

Gathar turned back. "Did you see that?"

"Fuck off." Greb shoved him aside. "You think acting like you're scared is gonna make me feel bad for you? Just move quicker, man. We can sleep when we're in the vilge."

"I'm serious, I think I saw something move behind the trees just now."

Gathar shook off his fear and moved ahead of his friend? What did these humans refer to each other as, the unit considered.

"What, you wanna move quicker now?"

  "Uh, yeah? Fuck this!"

Gathar actually pushed his organic legs to pick up speed. The unit silently followed, confident that it would be able to give chase to the two humans even if they were at their top speed.

ST-UN 0004 eventually arrived at a collection of human domiciles called a vilge. Rough estimations, after prior observations, gave a popution number of over 200. Small compared to the many recorded settlements within its databanks, but now accounted for. It had now confirmed that the world was in a state of primitiveness, which was, strangely enough, part of the signs its operator considered to be a "concern."

New directives from prior orders came to life as the scouting unit compiled a new dataset detailing its discoveries. It sent it away along with a coded message that essentially meant it would now go undercover into the human town, with a high possibility of interference within the locals' daily lives from the unit.

Greb looked back. "Yeah, there's definitely something there," he muttered. What the hell is that thing? Some kind of monster? "Looks pretty tough."

"Well, it's not following us, so it's probably just as smart as an animal or something," Gathar added in relief. "Fuck me, I told you something was following us!"

"Whatever, let's just go." Greb turned away from the monster and continued their trek to the vilge. "Thank fuck it came, else you would still be in that forest by now, pissing on a tree or some shit."

"I saved our asses!" Gathar argued.

"Yeah? Well, you wouldn't have to if you just followed my lead and actually moved instead of acting pretty, you dumbass," retorted Greb.

ST-UN 0004 moved back into the shadows, satisfied with its gathered data from the humans' reaction to its presence. They were not unnerved—infrared scans indicated their body heat levels had only increased by a small margin, while audio wave collection revealed their increased heart rate came from their physical exertion rather than noticing the unit's presence.

Are the locals familiar with creatures such as itself? [False]—The locals are familiar with creatures simir to it in appearance but not in make. Magically inclined creatures are regurly observed here and considered the norm rather than the exception.

ST-UN 0004 stored that bit of knowledge and crawled into a denser part of the trees to begin its observations. Its camera lens zoomed in, and its audio receivers filtered out background noise to focus on the voices of the two humans it had been following. AI reinterpretation, lip reading, and databank filters of their conversation helped make out an estimate of their topic and whom they were talking to.

The two humans moved through a town full of fearful vilgers. They were confident in their stride, indicating they were aware of the power dynamic and were abusing it. The moral compasses of the world's locals were socially complex but simir to recognized human behaviors—the unit noted this in its processors for its operator to review.

They stopped by a house that looked opulent compared to the buildings surrounding it. While the vilgers' homes were made of stacked stones and roofed with thatch, this abode had wooden walls with eborate artwork and a tiled roof. The interior, viewed from the window, was even more vish.

The two humans it had been tailing talked to a rotund human male with blonde hair and a well-groomed beard. He was wearing a nightgown—body heat levels indicated he had been in the process of copution before being disturbed.

"The Empire is attacking some vilges near the frontier, so the king is busy," said the human the unit recognized as Greb. "Eight Fingers said that the princess is going to use this opportunity to attack us again. One of our sources in the court said it, and they told us to hand this information to you."

"And they'll come here?" The man pulled on his beard.

"They've been attacking drug pnts," said Gathar.

ST-UN 0004 turned to observe the pnts growing on the outskirts of the vilge and marked them as hallucinogens under the category of addictives, then went back to listening in on the conversation.

"Yeah, some adventurer team named Blue Rose or something is working with the princess," Greb shrugged.

"That brat!" The man in the nightgown said as though he recognized someone from the named group. "Just because she has an enchanted sword?..."

"Well, I mean..." Greb rubbed his arms.

"I'm getting away from this pce—but first..." The man licked his lips. "I've been eyeing her for a while now, and honestly, it's about time I make a move. There's a girl out there named Tsuare. She has a sister, but I don't want that one. Tsuare has blonde hair. Drag her here."

The two males looked at one another. Then they shrugged.

  ================

Yes, this is THAT Tsuare. The one Sebas saved, you're all probably wondering- wait, how come she's here? She can be saved before all the trauma happens?!

Well, yes. And there's a pretty good expnation on my part for why this makes sense.

So, according to an interview with Murayama, he was asked why, in the light novels "did Solution eat something from Tsuare when the slime was healing her?"

Murayama said that it was a "fetus" (there is also the implication that the fetus itself is well developed by this point because solution "ate" it.) ecause Tsuare got pregnant from the abuse she suffered. Discounting the part where Zygotes (freshly fertilized gametes) take two weeks to form a fetus, there is also another thing I'd like to take note of.

Ninya, when Ainz met her, has not given up hope in finding her sister. Which would be strange unless the kidnapping hadn't been that long between Ninya becoming an adventurer and her sister disappearing.

So after all a whole lot of calcs, timeline guessing, and wiki surfing, I concluded that if Nazarick found Tsuare TWO DAYS after they arrived, they would be able to save her from her fate. If they had, say, multiple scouting units then there's a decent chance one of those finds the vilge Tsuare is in, which is implied to have been burnt by Tina and her sister to the ground during the Eight Fingers arc.

Here's a general timeline by the way.

  Canon=>

Nazarick arrives in the New World, Demiurge talks to Momonga, thinks they'll conquer the world (Night One) Momonga, now Ainz, finds Carne vilge under attacked (Day One) saves it, Ainz becomes Momon (Day 2), Momonga finds himself in E-Rantel (Day Three), Momon gets a giant hamster mount, talks to Nferia and then deals with the undead horde (Day 4, note that Enri only takes a day to go from Carne to E Rantel back to back) Shalltear mind control debacle (First Week, two-three days because logistics took a while) then after this is roughly the start of the Eight Fingers Arc, which is when Sebas meets a broken Tsuare (note he and solution are still continuing their mission to find a martial arts user during this time)

By the point they meet, in my own estimate (this can be wrong) it has been a month and two weeks since Nazarick arrived in the New World.
