Eight years ago, that's when it all occurred. No one believed it at first, not the governments, not the scientists or even the military who stared bnkly at their surveilnce screens as the monitors showed a rupture in their society and soon their entire sense of reality.

  Creatures from myths and legends began to appear faster than anyone could process, vampire's, demons, werewolves, centaurs, and so much more. Attempts at resistance failed, weapons all failed in every attempt, every attempt towards diplomacy- fell on deaf ears.

  within a few months humans were out-numbered and far overpowered, a few of the beings wanted to terminate humans as a whole but a majority did not want to cause harm to humans. They did not seem to serve much of a purpose so came the pet system.

  Some humans became breeders, nurseries took care of the humans ensuring their innocence and purity until they turned eighteen. Once eighteen they would be cssified before being sent to training and adoption facilities. Pet cssifications varied from pups, kittens, bunnies, cubs and more. This system quickly grew to be a great success in the eyes of the new society and a perfect way to handle the humans.

  Many of the beings in the new society had grown to find lives and families in each other including Caspian and Montgomery, a vampire-demon couple who got married just over a year ago. They both ran businesses and were very busy people. Montgomery was not too fond at the idea of having a pet human- in fact the only reason he started looking into it was for his husband Caspian's sake.

  Caspian was a very outgoing demon and loved all pets he ever met and since the system was put in pce- he always wanted a pet of his own. He would often ramble on and on to Montgomery about what he would want in a pet- maybe a kitten or a bunny, but he enjoyed puppies and cubs too. He could not wait for the day to come for him to go pick out the pet to make their family complete.

  Montgomery sat in his office finishing up some paperwork slightly frustrated as Caspian ran around getting dressed and fixing his hair, They were going to go to the adoption center today to look at pets. Caspian rambled from the bathroom as he combed his hair, "I'm so excited Monty! our very own pet!" he excimed.

  Montgomery shook his head taking a breath, "Don't get too excited Cas, we may not find one today. We shouldn't rush into this-" he started expining but Caspian cut him off "Oh come on Monty, we been pnning this for months! we will find one. Trust me, when we find the right one- it will make us both happy!" He came into Montgomery's office dressed in a casual button up shirt and dress pants. "I know you don't really like the idea of a pet- but think about it. I get something to love and spoil- and we both can get a py thing to spice things up. You always say you want to add something to our sex life-"

  Montgomery sighed, he knew Caspian had a point, but he still wasn't fully sure about the whole getting a pet thing. "Alright, let me go get ready and we can go", Caspian got excited "I'll go wait in the car!" he said before giving Montgomery a kiss and heading out to the car. Montgomery shook his head with amusement. "Sometimes, i wonder if he is a puppy-" he muttered under his breath as we went to change into a simir outfit as Caspian before meeting his husband out in the car.

  It was about a hour drive to the adoption center- Caspian rambled non-stop about all the things they would do and teach their new pet. Caspian introducing the thought in his head if their pet was needy- but he brushed the thoughts out of his head. As they pulled up to the adoption center Caspian nearly jumped out of the car before Montgomery even put it in part to which he spoke up "Hey!" He said sternly making Caspian freeze.

  Montgomery got out of the car and made his way around lowering his voice down. "I know you are excited, and you want a pet. but that does not mean you ignore being safe. Got it? i don't have any problem making sure you and that butt of yours remembers how to be safe." Caspian nodded in response. Once they composed themselves they headed to the front of the adoption center.

  As they entered the adoption center the sound and various human pets echoed through the building. At the front desk stood a few demons and vampires who ran that facility. "Welcome in, how can i help you?" one of the dies asked. Caspian excitedly but anxiously spoke up "We are here to hopefully adopt a pet"

  The dy smiled "Wonderful, My name is Katie and ill do my best to help. Where you looking for anything in particur? a puppy an kitten?" she asked trying to gauge what they were looking for. Caspian shook is head "I don't really have anything in mind in specific I want to find the best pet for our family" he said as he grabbed Montgomery's hand.

  Montgomery squeezed his husbands hand though his expression seemed cold and closed off. Katie smiled " Of course, come on back to our kennels, we have plenty of options avaible for adoption currently. You can browse and meet any you are interested in"

  Katie led them back to the adoption hall and let them explore the adoptable pets- Caspian stopped to say hi to a few of the social ones, taking his time reading their training papers. Montgomery on the other hand just stood back watching his husband browse the pets he didn't really see any that interested him.

  This pattern continued for almost all of the pets in the adoption center until commotion came from the far kennel past a few empty one's. One of the trainers was attempting to clean the kennel of one of the newest enrollments to the center- though it didn't seem to be going well at all. "What's going on back there?" Caspian asked a little worried and concerned.

  Katie nervously tried to lead them away and distract them. "Oh, it's nothing to worry about. Some of the pets straight from the nursery can be quiet an handful before training but we have plenty of avaible pets here at the front of the-" Montgomery cut her off "I want to see them".

  Montgomery's voice startled both Caspian and Katie- Katie was surprised that he wanted to see the untrained pet, where as Caspian was surprised and excited that Montgomery finally was showing a interest in a pet. Katie quickly got over her initial surprise. "Sir, they won't be ready for adoption until they have completed their training i don't think you-" Montgomery cut her off again "I said, i want to see them. Show us"

  Katie hesitated for a moment before reluctantly leading them to the far back kennel- The kennel itself was a complete mess. The bed torn apart, water bowl thrown and spilt everywhere, what was left of oatmeal spttered everywhere, and in the far corner of the kennel sat a small figure- a small woman freshly eighteen, wearing overalls with a paw print on the front of them and paw print socks. Caspian lit up at the sight instantly falling in love with the girl. "Monty, look at her!"

  Montgomery was silent, his expression unreadable as he assessed the kennel and the human in the corner, untrained, clearly disobedient, not broken in yet. "We'll take her" Caspian was practically jumping up and down in excitement as Katie seemed unsure. "Sir, we normally don't adopt out fresh arrivals, she's not trained or house broken she hasn't even had an exam yet"

  Montgomery turned to her, "I have read the contract online there in nothing that says you can't adopt a untrained pet. We will take her." Katie stood for a moment before muttering she would get the papers ready and heading back to the front desk leaving the two to view the girl through the kennel. "She's so small Monty, she's perfect" Caspian said with a smile. "She will be," Montgomery added. "She's going to need to be trained and taught how to behave she isn't like the others. You can't spoil her" Caspian rolled his eyes a little "Oh come on Monty, don't tell me you don't want to just snuggle her? she's a new arrival which means you can train her in any task. Imagine what we could train her for" he said with a wink.

  Montgomery had to admit the idea did interest him, but first things first- paperwork. He headed upfront to handle the papers while Caspian stayed admiring their new pet. Their sweet little pet to train how ever they want-
