My heart was pounding in my chest. The Scavs weren’t supposed to be here. What if they start ratting us out to the corpos. We’re were literally fish in a barrel here. They would pop the lids, then pop us in our domes. Mission over. I gnced back at Uwu, who was sitting halfway out of a crate himself. Our eyes met and he knew what I was thinking.
“Listen up!” He shouted into the metro-car, “Keep silent about this. We got a pce for you guys with the Meowtws. The Corpos won’t be so gracious to you. Stay quiet, and we can get you out of here.”
He was appealing to their sense of self-preservation here. They were scared and they wanted to live. It was the best he could do.
Sergio nodded, “I agree. Everyone. Listen to the man. The Corpos will, at best, shoot first and ask ter.” He looked around his group, catching some unnerving nods from reluctant scavs. He nodded back at Uwu.
We began to box ourselves up before we got too close to the station. It was stale and chilly in the box. Most pces now were just cold. With the destruction of the city, some pces had given into the frozen wastend that lie beyond the city walls. I held my gun tight and held out hope that he scavs wouldn’t sell us out. If they did, then I would take a few Corpos down with me.
The metro-car shifted down and slowed as we made our way into the station. My muscles tensed up as I waited for the next few minutes to pass. I tried to slow my breathing. I heard the doors slide open and it became harder to breathe. This was it.
“What the hell is this?” Some voice shouted. I could hear the chinks of guns loading and the bootsteps of corpo soldiers rushing to the tracks.
“It was those damn red freaks out there. They rushed the station, and we had nowhere else to go. They would have butchered us!” Sergio’s voice was quivering now. Probably a hundred guns rammed right into his face.
A loud thumping came up methodically to the car, followed with a deep, semi-robotic voice, “Then you should have been butchered. This ain’t the deal we id out. Hogg ain’t no charity case.” A loud thump rocked the car as a yelp sounded out. Someone crumbled to the ground.
Sergios wheezed out, “Sorry, Sir, sorry.”
My heart shook when I heard the voice. Something about it shook me to my core. It sounded familiar to me. It was ripping at my heart strings.
“You weak fucks.” The robotic voice rang out and the metro-car shook as the voice came closer, “Hmm, best use the bor while we got it, right boys?” There were some chuckles and agreement from random corpos. “Start loading the goods into the Prison storehouse, not a word or I’ll butcher you myself. Cunts. You two, take over and make sure all the goods get to the storehouse.” The car shook again and the stomps trailed off into the distance.
“You heard him, you fucks, let’s get moving. Grab the grav lifts! What are you fucking stupid, or deaf? Get going!”
My heart was still pounding when my crate shook. That voice. I knew it from somewhere, but where exactly? And why was it giving me such fear inside. Some canned food rolled up into my face as the incline shifted. I pulled me from my thoughts. I had to push everything from head and focus on the mission now. I must be heading up into the prison.
We stopped. I could hear some guards cmoring and shouting. “It’s the food shipments! Disable the security! A loud beep buzzed out and I began moving again. Just sounds around me. I started to sweat now. I had now clue what was going on around me. I tired to remember the turns and time spend moving, but it was quickly forgotten as my mind kept drifting back to that voice.
I finally stopped and smmed down on the ground.
“Now go back and grab the rest, hustle! Damn, slow freaks. Youd never cut it in the private sector.” A ugh joined the other voice as they trailed off again. I was sitting in silence now.
I waited for several more minutes, until the whole car was unloaded.
“Finally, time for a break.” The Corpos ughed at each other. “Command says to get your asses back top the car. They are willing to overlook your breach of contact and send you back to the station.”
There were some mumbling and then the sounds faded again. My comms flickered on, Uwu’s voice came whispering through, “Give it a few before we get out. They will come back to inspect the goods. That’s when we’ll strike. Ready your weapons.”
The sounds of corpos talking came back to the room. “The dumb fucks think we saved them. They don’t know about the bomb we installed.”
“A bomb? Wait, we went them packing?”
“Ha, yeah. Sec-com Brutus sent them back with enough explosives to shut down the metro. It’s the st shipment until backup arrives to get our asses off this shithole moon.”
Brutus? My mind went racing as I thought of that damn bastard Anthro-Goril that tormented and raped me for years. His voice was the one I had heard. It had to be true. The fucker somehow escaped death on that pnted all those years ago and ended up here in this prison working security for some greedy, Corpo slut.
Fuck them all. I would end him for once and for all. I would kill him and make sure his body ended up in a pulp of flesh unrecognizable to even his cunt mother.
My fear driven by that voice turned to hatred inside of me. My skin flushed red. I was different now. Not some helpless girl. I had training, and weapons. I would fuck him over if it was the st thing I did here today.
“Now, let’s check the scavs meager scraps. They must have something good we can scoop up before distribution.”
The lid on my crate began to rumble. My gun was at the ready. Let the bloodbath commence.
Light burst into my crate and a head popped into view, it’s smile quickly fading as it saw me lying inside.
I smiled back, “Surprise, motherfucker.” Boom.
I quickly stood before the second guard could do anything more than shit himself. I aimed my gun and fired without a second of hesitation. Boom. He dropped dead with a new hole in his head.
The rest of the crates burst open as my crew filed out one by one.
Uwu stood before us, gun held high, “Alright, let’s fuck this party up.”
