Chapter 101: Spring the Plan

We stalked down the halls of the ship, each one big enough for a missionary to stand side by side with his comrade with ease. The walls pin and white, with only religious texts here and there to make sure your faith is pced in God and is firm and unshakable. It was all a bit too pathetic for me to take it, Redwood on the other hand, was having the time of his life, taking in all the structural work and pin, yet sturdy engineering that went into the ship itself. Once we took the ship, he would most likely disappear for a few months just cataloging the whole of the ship.

Redwood mumbled, “She’s a beaut’ she is. Strange energy, but well built. The Gellys have some top-css engineers, I have to say.”

“And blessed by God himself. It is a site to behold. A testament to our faith.” The Priest didn’t bother looking back at us heathens. Every now and then his hand went to his temple as he winced in pain.

“Pfft, more like an insane asylum.” Yeti chirped in.

“Shh.” I snapped at him. If my memory served right, we were about to meet the point of no return. I looked over at Redwood, making eye contact. He nodded at me as we were coming up on an intersection. This was it. I gnced around at everyone. They knew the pn. It was time.

The Priest spoke up again, “I would keep your insults in your mouth, especially around our Saint Admiral. He has authority to smite those who speak bsphemies, in fact…” He turned to see my gun in his face; his mouth agape.

“Bsphemy is our specialty.” I winked at him. Boom.

His brains painted the wall red. The rest of the crew joined along. The Bishops behind us sprang into action, pulling out their pulse-maces, but the narrow corridor led to an easy fight between us and them, with them lying in a puddle of blood and guts. A faint haze filled the hallway.

“Alright everyone, you know what to do! Don’t make any rookie mistakes, and we’ll all get out of this just fine.”

As I finished speaking, the airlocks around us shut tight. The lights dimmed and red arms fshed about.

Dutch stepped up to the door that broke from the hall. She raised her splicer up and bsted into the metal doors, melting them into a intense red pile of goo.

“Good luck!” I shouted as team two took off down the doorway. It all hinged on them. If they couldn’t take the ships life support controls, we were screwed by an army of Gellys. Redwood led the way, just slightly behind Echo. Yeti saluted us with a goodbye, and followed Dutch through the hole.

I waved back, turning to Ash, “Your up.”

She stepped up to the door, “Geez, my heart is racing.” She tip toed around the brains and aimed her splicer pistol at the door. She took a few shots, easily cutting through the metal door. She smiled back at us, “Yay, let’s do this!”

I smiled back, “Guns ready everyone! Let’s fuck up some Gellys.”

  Mama cleared her throat.

“No time, Mama, we got a job to do.”

We squeezed through the whole and made our way to the bridge to meet our esteemed host. It would be his st time hosting anyone.

Arms bzed in the hanger. Sucker held her seat tight, Walter right beside her. Speck was skulking in the corner, a small growl escaping his throat. Heavy guns dropped from the ceiling and aimed right at the bridge.

Sucker gulped hard, “I really hope they don’t decide to pull the trigger.”

Half the Gellys in the hanger had taken off down various doorways into the ship’s interior, while the other half took up positions around the Yiffin II, guns trained on all the doors.

Walter cleared his throat, grabbing the intercom, “I really hope you don’t decide to pull the trigger…” He smiled at Sucker, “We got enough explosives in this ship to blow yours into a billion pieces. Best sit back and put you hands in your pockets.”

No shots were made. Everything was still.

Walter shrugged, “I guess it worked.”

Speck growled, “Please, sitting around here is pissing me off. I should be out there, ripping their heads off one by one.”

“All thousand of them?” I mean, be my guest, you might get a few.” Walter put his feet up on the console, sitting back and letting out a sigh.

Speck let a low growl out, “Sit around all you want. I’m getting my hands dirty.” He stormed out of the bridge.

Sucker watched him leave, “Use the base hatch, we’re right over an access port to the maintenance tunnels!” Sucker gnced over at Walter, “I hop he finds it alright.”

Speck stormed to the armory, loading up with every bit of killing machines he could carry. If he had to meet his end at the hands of a Gelly army, he would take them all down with him.

He opened the base hatch in the cargo bay, his hand feeling the Gelly’s metal below. He pulled it up and dropped down into the maintenance tunnels, a perfect pce for him to hunt. He smiled, growling. Now was his time to strike.

He dropped to all fours and began to sprint through the tunnels, looking for something to satiate his bloodlust. Ahead of him were two workers, checking charts and holding a tool box in front of a pipe leak.

They didn’t know what hit them. Cws sshed out quickly, cutting open their throats before they could call for help. Speck sshed away a few more times, opening their chests and stomachs for good measure before he took off again, leaving a trail of blood behind him.

His eyes were wide, and his heart was pumping with sweet, sweet adrenaline. This is what the hunt was all about, and there were plenty more prey for him to find.
