Chapter 6: memories

  *thud* *thud* *thud*

Slowly, we walked towards the office, our steps reverberating the room.

"I'm sorry for disturbing your meeting with Miss Leningrad, I apologise with every inch of my body."

My guide said, never batting an eye towards me.

Hey, if you apologize like that, I would never know if it's sincere or not. Though I think it's just the elves being elves.

  "Don't sweat it."

I replied to her apology, and she nodded her head as if nothing serious had happened.

Sigh, she's too awkward to deal with.

  "We've arrived."

Finally, after some time passed, the door towards my 5th character has come.

Beyond this would be a character I forged from scratch.

The character whom I created with care and love, crafting her story to the part of defeating the demon lord.

And also probably my strongest DPS character.

I pushed it, prepared on what's about to come. Only to be greeted by someone whom I used to know.

Long green hair down to waist, green eyes, long ears, although her facial features have matured a bit, her naive like face is still there.

Even after 200 years, she's still the same...

  "Millia..."

I blurted out unexpectedly. Which caused an unexpinable reaction from her, I don't know if she's surprised or angry? Damn, this part of her still haven't changed one bit.

  "Levon Constantine right?"

She asked me, full of confidence and majesty, contradictory to what I wrote in her character lore.

"Yes, does that name right a bell?"

"What do you mean by that?"

  Her pupils went wide.

"Floryn, go out of the room at this moment."

The girl who guided me earlier nodded and left the pce.

After she left, Millia gave a big sigh before massaging her temptes.

"Sigh... He never told me about this..."

  "Who?"

  I questioned.

"You! You don't remember?" Millia excimed, sweat forming in her forehead. "T-this isn't possible... Unless the resurrection spell was incomplete at the time therefore leaving memories have jumbled up into bits like the standard reincarnation procedure. Was it because of my ck of mana at the time? No, it was still sufficient to cast 11th tier spells consecutively. Sure what I was casting was a 12th tier spells but the amount should've been sufficient enough. Then what about the magic circle itself? Have I imagined the symbols wrong? That's not the ca-"

And she continued to rambled on.

Honestly, I was originally worried that she's not the same one I've made 200 years ago, but this one definitely signifies that she's really her.

"Heh," I let out a chuckle, to which she noticed and she blushed out of embarrassment.

"AHH!! Oh my god I'm still doing it, what if someone else sees me in this state?!! My image would be blown to bits hu hu," she cried out of desperation.

For someone who can dish out strong magic spells like nothing, she's a bit too eccentric.

But still, I need a reason why I can't recall my memories from the past.

Based on her ramblings, I could conclude that they made a resurrection spell for me, but somewhere it failed. I can't tell her outright that I'm someone who created them because that reality might be too overbearing for them. This is probably the best course of action...

"Actually, I can only recall bits of my memories of my past. It's vague too," I brought up, feigning ignorance. "It may be weird for me to say this but... What happened to 'me' 200 years ago? Why is he forgotten?"

She got taken back at my sudden question. Then she went into a deep thought.

"Oh... If that's the case then..." She put her hand towards her chin, and her previous pyful aura became serious. "The demon lord got defeated, that fact you may already know. But it was at a cost of someone's life..."

  ***

"Don't you dare give up on me!"

The sky seems so clear for today.

"You won't die today! Not now!!"

Naomi, you're shouting a bit too much in my ears you know?..

Sigh, that seems a rather hard request to do. besides, I'm feeling pretty good right now.

"Millia! Do something! Heal him or whatever just fix him already!"

"I'm trying... Ha- ha- but I'm having trouble with mana cough cough," she expined, before coughing out some blood.

  "T-then... Dhorhon!!"

"I'm fucking trying to find a summon who can use the goddess's healing tome as if there is one!!" The small dwarf shouted, anger and self loathing evident.

I steadily looked around my surroundings, ruined buildings, ndmasses being deformed, all seems lost but in actuality, we saved what we could.

  This feels like a dream.

Faustin, our assassin, ace of our team, is leaning towards a tree. Aloof on the outside but worried deep inside.

He was the most impressive of us all. Managing to do solo missions like they're a piece of cake. He's also our main intel whenever we will engage our enemies, like a scout.

Besides me on the left there reside Millia, trying her hardest to cast a spell that has never been seen nor been recorded before.

Is that supposed to work? What she's doing right now is equivalent to making the strongest spell ever recorded in existence, and she's making it as I die. She really has a lot of talent but in all honesty, she doesn't have to do this.

Supporting her is Craig, helping her bance her feat while also caring like the eldest brother in the group.

He's a man who would always charge at the forefront of the battle, protecting everyone without fail. He never dodged any attacks, for that may come to us if he doesn't deal with it. A man who's a great listener to our problems, the most mature of this group.

Dhorhon, who's finding a summon to help me, seems to be the one most injured of us all. Missing an arm and an eye bleeding mercilessly. Yet he didn't care.

For the longest time ever, he was the most selfless man I've ever meet. He broke everything and every rule society has just to pursue his life long dream. A reckless dude, but also a reliable companion.

On the background. Fay, who is the youngest of us all, is fending off the army of the demons singlehandedly. She seems so strong now, when in the past, she's the weakest of us all. Oh how much my student had grown.

  This isn't my memories.

Lastly, there she was, the strongest swordswoman in our group. The one who stood by my side the longest, even when she had a hard past, she would never get desperate enough to to cry and beg for mercy nor money. Naomi Yukata.

Besides her is her two most beloved swords, murasame, and a sword which is releasing a rather powerful aura, the fuin'noken.

In our group, she's the strongest in terms of 1 on 1. She stands at the pinnacle of swordsmanship, and she doesn't show any signs of weaknesses.

Yet even then, why are you giving me an expression like that?

As if, you're about to lose something important.

Subconsciously, I reached my bloodied hand to her cheeks, brandishing my thumb to her tears.

"A strong... Swordswoman like you shouldn't cry right?" I mustered up all of my strength to say those words.

She got surprised by what I did. Her face blushed from embarrassment yet she didn't struggle to break free from my touch. Instead, she embraced it with her own hands.

"Hic! I-idiot..." She hiccups, struggling to find her words exactly.

  What is happening?

Slowly, it's getting hard to breath.

I'm suffocating, my lungs struggling to expand.

I coughed, full of blood in my throat.

It seems that this is the end.

"W-what?" Naomi excimed, yet I can barely hear her now.

She then shouted some words that I cannot comprehend to understand. My sense of hearing soon became dull.

She then panicked and shouted Millia about something, but she just crumpled her face is despair. For the most part, it was just chaos.

My scent of touch and taste soon follows through.

And before I can fully lose consciousness, I just want to say something to them, as the sole leader of the group.

Something that will encourage them to their day to day lives while I'm gone.

  "P-please, find your happiness..."
