Chapter 7: 13th level magic

My eye starts to open up, as if I have just awaken from a long dream. I feel my tears going down to my cheek, uncontrolbly so.

I looked around towards my surroundings, seeing the familiar principal's office, I'm now sure that I went back.

Sitting in front of me is Millia. She's looking towards my eye, expecting something.

"What spell did you put on me?" I asked her, seeing that she might be a part of this.

"7th tier magic, locked memories of the dream path." She replied, looking apologetically. "I had to do it since your memories are getting jumbled around, and you can't recall details surrounding it. I developed it hehehe."

She giggled, looking all smug about it. Seeing me staring at her for quite awhile, she coughed and continued her expnation.

"This magic unlocks the painful and forgotten memories a person has in his lifetime. Though strangely powerful, I made it so that the user wouldn't be able to take a peek at his target's memories. Which is why it's also only 7th tier."

  Hmm, I see.

"So, did all of your memories returned?" She asked the million dolr question.

"No, only bits of it," I replied, feeling a little bit disappointed.

"I saw all of you in my death bed. You're conjuring the resurrection spell, Naomi crying, Dorhon desperately trying to find a solution, faustin and Fay on the background, and Craig besides you."

"Were there anything else? Something that's reted to your current situation?"

I thought for a while and suddenly remembered something.

"I remember someone casting a 13th magic spell. I think it was garden of unforgotten memories."

Millia froze upon hearing those words.

Based off of her reaction, she seems to know this magic.

She stands up abruptly, walking towards a bookshelf. She then takes out a book with the title "study of divine magic"

She flips through the pages until she stops at a particur one.

"13th circle divine magic: unforgotten memories is a magic that can only be executed by gods. I'm guessing that you still don't have all of your memories so I'll expin the heaviness of this matter.

Magic from the 1st circle up to the 6th circle are all achievable by human effort and talent, but that is usually the peak of human kind.

7th circle to the 10th circle are only achievable by prodigies of the millennia or dragons.

11th circle can already be considered unachievable, it can only be performed with thorough preparation and rge mana capacity.

The beings that are alive today that can use 12th circle magic can be counted with one hand. Me, the dragon king, the witch from the west, the demon king's right hand man Azazel, and the guardian of purgatory Cerberus.

13th circle magic on the other hand can only be used by deities. It can bend the ws of this world, but the effects have serious drawbacks and are quite unstable."

  I nodded at her words.

Her point is, my resurrection can be connected to the works of the gods.

"Then what about the resurrection magic you made?" I asked, curious about the outcome.

"Simple, my magic was overwritten by the divine magic. No matter how strong a caster's magic is, divine magic would always overwrite it, it's just that powerful."

"And what does it do exactly?" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me.

She flips the book for a few more pages until she nded to a specific page.

"Garden of forgotten memories," she recited, reading the contents of the book. "A magic that scatters the consciousness of a person through different people. Through using this magic, one can escape imminent death and resurrect once all the shards have been gathered back."

Honestly, I don't get it at all.

A magic that can resurrect a person? But if my character did that, then this body should be Levon's body, yet for some reason my consciousness transfered here instead.

No, I shouldn't think about this too much. Or else I would enter a needless state of existentialism.

"From what I could understand," Millia muttered, expining the content of the books in her own understanding. "Levon split his consciousness, or rather, his soul to different parts and sent them throughout the whole world.

"By that logic, there should be other "Levon Constantine" throughout the whole world. I don't know what shape or form they will partake, but according to this book, it's still possible to fully resurrect you."

"And by that you mean making me remember all of my memories right?"

  "Yes."

I see, I understand it now. But there are still some part that confuses me.

First of all, why now after 200 years? Was there something preventing Levon to revive immediately?

Secondly, who casted the 13th circle magic? Is it some kind of deity? In the game, there were some gods that exists. Like the god of light, god of darkness, the dragon god, the undead god, and so much more.

Which of them was the one who cast this kind of magic? And for what reason?

And stly, why did I get transmigrated towards this specific moment. The one who transported me here clearly said to live my life however I want, yet fate seems to disagree with that.

"By the way, what kind of magic were you going to use on me back then?" I asked Millia, hoping to change the subject.

"It was a magic.a personally devised," she stated while looking proudly. "It wasn't exactly resurrection magic per se, but a powerful equivalent exchange magic. But since it got overwritten, it never got the effect it was supposed to do. And even if that's the case, my part of the bargain remained."

  "And that is?"

She looked at me with a self depriving smile before returning the book to its rightful pce.

"I sacrificed my right to use magic."
