Unacceptable

Then suddenly I heard a voice behind me (which belonged to Verona) say, “So she’s a politician too then, eh? Figures. I mean, I guess it could be another person who’s named Enyo, but it seems pretty likely that it’s her. I kinda hate to ruin her career over this (since she might not know that Helmer’s a murderer), but she did have sex with a married man and so my sympathy for her is a bit limited.”

“She also has the history with MDMA,” I noted, “and it seems like she could have forced this affair to start by using the drug that she used to sell on him without his consent.”

“Yes,” Verona said, “I read about that over your shoulder, and I suppose it’s possible that she did that, but also Helmer is the type of person who commits murder and so I’m pretty sure that someone with such low moral standards would be happy to begin cheating on his wife regardless of whether MDMA was involved.”

“Yeah,” I said, “I mean, if she did use MDMA without his consent to start the relationship then it makes it clear that she’s an evil rapey person, but he’s an evil murderous person regardless of whether MDMA was involved or not.”

“Yup,” Verona said, “and I figure that you’re probably thinking of following Helmer around or something to get evidence, but that probably won’t be necessary. See, I just figured out several minutes ago that having you working with me to bring down Helmer seems to have enabled me to travel further than I could before, and so I think that I can travel to the government building that Helmer and Enyo work at and use my invisibility abilities to not get caught while I follow them and figure out what places they’re having sex at.

Now I won’t be able to actually get any evidence, but if I get that information then I can give it to you and you can set video cameras up at the places where they’re cheating at in order to acquire the proof that can remove them from power!”

I gulped nervously, and said, “I’m glad that I won’t have to do the following, but I’m worried that I’ll get caught if I set up video cameras in those places…”

“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it!” Verona said cheerfully, “For now, I’ll just gather the information as quickly as I can, and then once you have the information it’ll be up to you what you think the best thing to do with the information is. Seeya later!” and she flew off to go spy on Helmer and Enyo.

Well, at least now I knew how the information was going to be gathered, and so I decided to head out and go to a pub to relax a bit.

And so I headed out of the apartment, and I walked around a bit until I found a cool seeming pub.

I entered the pub, and to my dismay I saw that Enyo was there!

So much for having a relaxing time at the pub…

I then noticed her go up to someone at the pub and begin speaking with him, and I decided to discreetly use my phone to make a video recording of the interaction.

I did not actually look at the two of them while I recorded them (so that I wouldn’t seem suspicious), but I kept the camera trained on where they were as I ordered a drink and a burger and began to eat and drink.

But then I noticed that someone was sitting beside me, and I was horrified to find that it was Enyo!

This meant that my drink could have been drugged by her and I could have consumed the drug!

Unfortunately, it did indeed turn out that that was what had happened, and I ended up waking up the next morning lying naked next to Enyo who had clearly just raped me through MDMA.

I confronted her about this, and she claimed that I had willingly agreed to take the drug.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

I said that I most certainly had not, and then she pulled out a gun and killed me.

And so now I was a ghost too, and this meant that now Verona and I had both been murdered by this evil murderous couple of politicians!

And so I did what any normal ghost would do and I quickly went over to the police station and (while using my invisibility powers) I told everyone there that Enyo had just committed a murder at the address that I’d been at, but almost all of the police officers shrugged off what I’d said and said that she was very supportive of police and that she would never do such a thing.

One of the officers took it upon himself to check out the address though, and I followed him to find out what would happen.

He arrived right as Enyo was taking a trash bag out of her home, and he asked her what was in the bag.

She began sweating nervously, and she informed him that it was obviously just trash.

He then noticed some red liquid dripping out of the bag, and he said, “And that’s ketchup, I suppose?”

She nodded, and then she dropped the bag and began running away from the bag as fast as she could!

Now the officer had to decide whether to chase her or inspect the bag first, and he inspected the bag first.

It turned out that the bag contained part of my body, and he quickly got up to begin chasing Enyo!

Enyo was long gone though, and I then realized that I should have followed her so that I’d be able to know where she was and tell the police officer about it!

Just then the police officer got a call on his phone, and it turned out that he was fired for having disobeyed the order to not investigate Enyo, and he screamed into the phone that the whole department was a corrupt villainous operation that was more interested in protecting government workers who they liked than in actually protecting and serving!

He then added that he’d discovered that Enyo had been carrying a body, and the person on the other end of the phone said that this changed everything and that an officer would be right over to help him!

An officer soon arrived, and he immediately murdered the officer who had found the body, and then Enyo returned to the scene and grinned wickedly and said that hiding the bodies should be easy now!

And so the murderous Enyo and the murderous police officer disposed of my body and disposed of the body of the police officer who had been murdered for actually trying to bring murderers to justice instead of helping murderers get away with murdering people.

This was very troubling to me, and as I pondered what to do next the ghost of the murdered police officer appeared next to me and said, “Are you the ghost of the person who Enyo just murdered?”

“I am indeed…” I said in a depressed tone of voice; and the officer said, “I’m sorry that law enforcement around here is so corrupt. It wasn’t this way back when I started working for the police, but some really bad folks managed to climb their way to the top and they made alliances with politicians like Enyo that helped insure that they kept their high positions. People usually just kept corrupt stuff away from my knowledge, but it’s been pretty clear how bad things are despite their feeble attempts to keep me in the dark.

And so now it’s come to this!, and what used to be a pretty good and just police department is very evil and unjust…

I’m Cob, by the way. What’s your name?”

“I’m Nex,” I said, “and I know another person who is a ghost now and was murdered by Enyo’s boyfriend Helmer.”

“That’s not surprising, unfortunately.” Cob said, “He’s a bad dude, and is very close to the evil heads of the police department just like Enyo is.”

“So what do we do?” I asked, “I mean, is there anybody you know of who we can tell about what’s going on so that we can defeat all of this murderous corruption that’s going on in the government?”

“Unfortunately,” Cob said, “I suspect that the government is too far gone. The elections aren’t even run fairly anymore. I think that this government will have to be overthrown so that a new one that’s actually democratic and is actually based on principles like the equality of all people can take its place.”

“Overthrowing governments isn’t easy…” I said nervously, “Do you have any ideas about who could lead this overthrow?”

“I think that if you, your friend, and I all go to the former chief of police then she’ll help. She knows how bad everything is but she just wants to retire and wash her hands of how bad the police department and government is now, but I think that if we try hard enough to convince her to help us overthrow the government then she’ll do it.”

“I’m down to try whatever might be able to work,” I said, “because the current situation is completely unacceptable!

Follow me, and I’ll take you to the apartment where my friend Verona is.” and then I flew off towards the apartment, and Cob flew along with me!, and soon we reached the apartment…
