Skipping forward a bit, we enter the present day. BB and Scott have their time machine and are at the gates of Alexandria. Sugar, who was basically a bus boy, went off deck to begin shaving off barnacles before BB and Scott had to start on making plans. Lighter had a time machine. That was one thing BB could deduce.
“Make sure to get th ash off the side.”

Dr.John, looking down at his patient, had a prank on the move.
“See, right there.”
“Where?”
After collecting the ash from his ash trays in the iron pale for a few weeks, he decided to use it on Sugar. He poured it on top of him and sent him falling into the ocean.
“Idiot.”
“Stop messing around with the new guy. Now give me my pills.”
BB had known that someone in this group had been destined for a premature death sometime in the next few days. Scott was one of the few people that he could thoroughly speak with in private. That’s what an entire age of friendship does to a person.
