Chapter Thirty
BB was never one to lose his wit but spending enough time with Scott made him lose a bit off the top. The duo were great, but they weren’t that great together. Scott used to be a mob enforcer before moving to some literal backwater island in the middle of nowhere.
“Right, well, we have work to do.”
“Like what?”
The group wasn’t the most informed bunch despite how they had been working for BB. He just so happened to know why. They couldn’t keep a secret.
“Well, we’re robbing somebody. Or more so saving someone."
“Who?”
“Alexander the great.”
“What?”
“The greatest conqueror of his time.”
“Perhaps the greatest ever.”
If Alexander the Great hadn’t died young, he would've built an empire that would’ve gone from the Mediterranean sea to Japan. He could’ve dwarfed anything that was run by the likes of Genghis Khan. But alas, all things must end eventually.
“Why are we robbing him?”
“Simple, he’s going to help us save the world.”
“How?”
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
“He’s just died.”
“Good.”
“Well, how are we going to rob a dead guy? Wait, are you implying we…?”
“Somewhat. A ship is coming here. Our job is to retrieve the body and resurrect it.”
Sugar was confused by it. Why would they ever bring such a mass murderer back to the land of the living? Given, Alexander wasn’t known for his good policy, he was known for being a conqueror.
“May I ask why?”
“No, not yet.”
“But why?”
BB thought of his time being raised by Dials. The two had only ever known victory by beating others. Though, when the two turned on one another, it was definitely a rough going. Dials had no way of catching BB and vice versa. The two lived cushy lives. BB in the American south, and Dials in London. Then they found some things that were off.
“What are you up to cowboy?”
Lia had found herself sleeping in the rat’s nest. She had been working so hard looking at the ancient land around her. Although Dials and Bb lived cushioned lives, she had lived an exciting one. She’d been raised in a family that had a monopoly on land. BB had made his way around certain laws to help them out, for old time’s sake.
“Why are you here?”
“I don’t know.”
“Well, we’ll see where that lands us.”
“Sure.”
Lia had seen Sugar walking around below. She’d known of the old west. Not much changed with her education from the real world. BB had even made a few movies for the sake of entertainment. The main form of entertainment was westerns. Purely educational. Scott had begged him to make more action but he refused.
