My kick may not have been accurate, but the impact was enough to throw the boar away, in the opposite direction from where I approached.

Thanks to my stamina, I was able to accomplish this feat. The moment my foot touched the animal, I could feel its weight - it was robust and heavy.

As strong as the blow was, I doubt it was enough to make it faint.

And then, at the worst possible moment, I discovered something interesting about my [Camoufge] skill: just like with the samander, the moment I attack, my presence is immediately revealed.

I made a mental note of this weakness, but I didn't have time to think about it - I had to stay focused, as the boar quickly recovered.

  Gruunh! Gruuh!

  But what...?

As soon as he turned to me, he shot off into the forest.

It let out another grunt and fled miserably. Did I intimidate him? I mean, my kick was strong... but enough to scare him off?

Maybe it's best not to think about it too much. The danger has mysteriously gone, and I don't need any more trouble now...

I mean, apart from the fact that I've just saved some unknown people.

I'd better clear this up before something worse happens...

  - Well... you don't have to be afraid; I won't hurt you, hu...bros?

Wait... humans aren't green. Or red.

  They're a different species.

They look like some kind of ogre or orc, but with more youthful features.

They're sitting, cowering in front of me, clearly frightened. I can't say exactly how tall they are, but they're smaller than I imagined. Or maybe I got too tall because of my body transformation...

  - Don't hurt us, mighty one...

Somehow, they speak my nguage. Or maybe I can understand them, which makes communication easier.

The one who called me powerful stands in front of the other, as if trying to protect him from some danger. His gaze is tense but determined.

Now that I realize it, he's holding a makeshift knife made of stone. And if it was this young man who conjured that fireball earlier, then he has some means of defending himself... but probably not against rge creatures.

Still, things just got a lot more interesting.

Perhaps I should expin myself better, before you see me as a threat...

  ***

For the moment, I was staring at them. I could already be sure that they weren't human. Of course, not that I was discriminating or anything, but I don't think there are any green- or red-skinned humans in this world... at least, based on common knowledge.

Still, the young man in front of me looked desperate, holding his makeshift knife tightly. The bde was made of polished stone, carved irregurly, and as much as he pointed it at me, I was more worried about him cutting himself than actually hurting me. In any case, I doubt that something like that could hurt me.

He was looking me straight in the eye, perhaps preparing himself for a supposed attack from me. Fortunately for both of us, that wouldn't happen.

I looked away from the other young man. He looked bruised. His heel was swollen, and it didn't look like a simple sprain. The pain was evident in his expression, even though he tried to maintain his posture.

  - Get away from us! - shouted the green-skinned boy.

From the tone of his voice, he didn't want me around. Perhaps he was right to fear me, but for different reasons than I imagined. In my old world, if a woman my age approached a boy like him, she would be seen as having ulterior motives. I despised that kind of person. When a young man greeted or complimented me, I responded only out of politeness, and nothing more. Anything more could get me a free pass to jail.

But that aside, he didn't look well at all. And I knew what it was like to feel pain, given what I'd been through over the st few days.

  - “I told you; I'm not going to hurt them...” I muttered.

Perhaps acting would be more effective than talking.

I took a step forward, and the boy's bravado gradually faded. He closed his eyes, tense, but didn't flinch, showing a remnant of courage. Even so, it was worrying... Was I really that intimidating? I thought my appearance was okay when I saw myself in the dungeon.

  - Excuse me... - I said, approaching the fallen young man.

  - “Ugh...” he groaned.

I just touched his leg and I could already feel the wound. I didn't have to press too hard to realize that it was something more serious than a simple sprain. I'm no expert, but it looked more like an internal fracture.

  Shinnin~~

  - Hm? - the green boy's eyes widened as he saw the healing magic activate.

It didn't take long. Little by little, I felt the bone readjusting itself under my magic.

  - There you go. Much better, isn't it?

  - Yes! The pain is gone!

  I smiled.

  - That's great to hear. Do you still think I'm a threat?

Gradually, I saw the boy lower his guard. He put the makeshift knife away, tying it back to an old rope around his waist. The knot was rustic, but seemed firm enough to prevent accidents.

  - I'm sorry. I didn't mean to disrespect you.

  - It's all right, though. You just wanted to protect him. There's nothing wrong with staying alert when someone close to you might be in danger.

I looked at them both and arched an eyebrow.

  - But let me ask you... aren't you too young to hunt?

  They both hesitated.

  - “Well, it's just...” began the green boy.

  - We moved away from the vilge... hiding,” added the red-skinned boy.

  - Hey!” protested the other.

“Oh? So it was an escape on the sly...

The green boy's reaction tried to disguise it, but I had already understood. In the end, they were just kids. And it would be foolish to let them wander around a forest full of dangerous creatures like that boar.

  - I imagine your parents are worried about you being so far from home. Wouldn't it be better if you went back?

  - They have other things to worry about,” muttered the green boy. - We sensed the presence of strong monsters and came here to help.

  I frowned.

  - The presence of strong monsters?

As much as that boar was a strong creature, I didn't see it as a real threat. I mean, I only felt a slight alert because of the danger they were facing.

After everything I've been through in that cave, it's hard to consider a wild animal a threat compared to a samander capable of spitting corrosive acid.

  - I see. You just wanted to help in some way, but you still think you could defend yourselves with just that knife? - Satouma asked.

  - é... - muttered the Young Green.

  - Well... - hesitated Young Red.
