Chapter 29: Sacred Sound Inn - 1

"Alright, I agree. But I want a room to myself! I'll pay back the money I owe you!" Sylph gritted her teeth and, after much hesitation, decided to trust this stranger. She had already spent two nights on the streets. Recently, she had also felt that someone had been watching her from the shadows, which made her extremely uneasy.

"By the way, thank you," she added at the end. Though her tone was somewhat stiff, there was a hint of sincerity that could still be felt.

Kenley nodded, not bothering to argue over something so trivial."Of course, I definitely won't sleep in the same room with you."

"Oh!" Sylph replied indifferently. While Kenley's words gave her some comfort, she still couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Why couldn't she feel happy? Was her charm really that lacking? Did this human not feel the slightest attraction to the beauty of Princess Sylph? How frustrating!

Humans... such strange creatures. Even elves weren't immune. She had despised him earlier, but now, just because he didn't care about her, she felt strangely affected by it.

Time passed quickly, and the three of them arrived at the Sacred Sound Inn. Kenley approached the front desk, grinning widely."Hey, Sharp, long time no see!"

Sharp, who had been calculating the bill, was startled and thought it was a familiar face. But upon hearing the voice, it didn't sound familiar. He quickly raised his head, adjusted his glasses, and saw a strange human male, and to his shock, there was also a half-elf and a undead following behind him? What in the world were these things?(Note: Elves were rarely seen in human cities, and since half-elves resembled full elves, ordinary people often couldn't tell the difference.)

Then, upon closer inspection, his eyes widened in disbelief. An undead wearing the Adventurer's Guild seal and the Faithful's Seal! Wasn't this exactly what he had heard about in the rumors today? Could it be the adventurer who had just signed the adventurer contract?

How did he know me? Oh, right! The Sacred Sound Inn receives all kinds of guests every day. Maybe a previous guest recommended the inn to him, and that's how he knows me.

Realizing this, Sharp quickly put on a business-like smile."Honored guest, you've come to the right place to stay at Sacred Sound Inn. We offer the best lodging experience in the Imperial Capital. If you have any horses, we can feed them with fresh hay in the backyard. For first-time guests, we offer a free serving of hay! A night's stay is very affordable, only 50 silver coins!"

Kenley chuckled."My name's Kenley, so how about giving me a 30% discount?"

Sharp froze for a moment, then, as if struck by inspiration, he slapped his forehead."Oh, right! I can't believe I forgot! Today is Sacred Sound Inn's anniversary, and you happen to be the last guest on the list for today's event! Congratulations! From now on, every time you visit, you'll enjoy a 30% discount! We look forward to your future visits!"

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Kenley then saw the looks of disbelief from Tia and Sylph. Both were staring at him as if he were a born negotiator. Tia was amazed because both the tailor shop and Greenleaf Restaurant had given Kenley a 30% discount, and now the Sacred Sound Inn was doing the same.

If this was a coincidence, it was just too perfect!

Sylph was impressed by Kenley's negotiating skills. As a young girl who was curious about the world outside, she had heard her people talk about human merchants. They were always described as smooth-talking, greedy, and ruthless in their pursuit of profit. Once they had their prey in sight, they would always demand outrageous prices, never knowing what fear was. As long as they could make gold, they would stop at nothing. But this mysterious human warrior was too impressive. He was able to take advantage of these merciless merchants, which was unimaginable to her.

Kenley, however, knew this was simply the effect of the Genius Negotiator skill, granting him a 30% discount! Every time he used the skill, these merchants would somehow come up with all kinds of excuses and reasons to give him a discount, finding ways to sell at a reduced price.

Kenley thought to himself that choosing to experience the prologue first had been the right decision. Acquiring the Genius Negotiator skill and occasionally being surprised by a good deal was quite enjoyable.

  But...

Sharp changed his tone,"Honored guest, we only have one room left today. However, the three of you can still share it if you're comfortable." He said this with a knowing look, as if Kenley would understand.

Kenley was taken aback, not immediately realizing what was going on. He thought the room was simply full. After all, in the game, inns like Sacred Sound Inn were often fully booked. Since inns offered some privacy, there were rumors that some players secretly rented rooms in the game. While it wasn't as intimate as in the real world, they could still do things that didn't cross any lines. The officials had turned a blind eye to this, and that was why Sacred Sound Inn often had no rooms available.

At first, Kenley subconsciously thought he was back in the game, so when he heard that there was only one room left, he believed it. He overlooked Sharp's suggestive expression.

Turning to the two women, he sighed,"Looks like we're out of luck. The inn only has one room left. What do you think?"

Sylph immediately frowned. While she mostly trusted that Kenley wasn't a pervert, she still couldn't accept the idea of sharing a room with him."How about we find another place?" she started to say, but was cut off.

Sharp quickly interrupted,"Ah, honorable guests, curfew is coming soon, and the Holy Blessing is the day after tomorrow. If you don't hurry, you won't have time to check in. You have only three minutes left!"

Three minutes?! The three of them exchanged glances. There was no time to find another inn now.

Kenley also understood what Sylph had meant, but Sharp's timely interruption made them all give up on the idea of switching inns.

"Well, what should we do? Shall we make do with this one night? What do you think, ladies?" Kenley could only say with a resigned tone.

To be honest, Kenley didn't want to share a room with Sylph. If the Elf King ever found out that his daughter had spent a night in the same room with a strange human male in the Imperial City, he didn't even want to imagine how the Elf Royal Guard would chase him to the ends of the earth.

Sylph blushed."I-I agree, but... you can't..." Sylph was struggling, as she never wanted to stay with this annoying guy. But reality was harsh, and she had no choice.

She looked up, only to realize that Kenley had already grabbed the key and was heading upstairs.

"Hey! You guys, don't go so fast! I haven't finished speaking!"
