It took the group one more day to arrive at Fort Malay, the army encampment they had been heading towards ever since leaving the city.
It was Immediately obvious that the Fort was meant as a military base when about a hundred archers pulled back their bow strings and threatened them.
A single figure, much more imposing than anyone that was stationed in the city, approach behind them, eight blade like legs clicking as the commander scales the wall and stares at the new faces.
"If you don't provide Identification right now, we are forced to shoot you."
A command Jeolas followed leisurely.
"Sure, not like we are in a rush or anything. You see, we are here as new allies, and because we want to slaughter those born of snow and purge the heretics, or at least convert them."
He explained, simply holding up his badge that he had held within his back frills, the metal object covered in his goo as he held it up for the guards to see in the moonlight.
"Everything in order, you can pass. I recommend you immediately accompany me to my room, I have been warned of your arrival and prepared accordingly."
He said, climbing down as the others open the gates and lower the door.
The warlock went inside as soon as possible, riding on the wave of animated scorpion statues as he and his followers washed into the Fort. The other Larv waited outside as he followed the leader inside, giving his best approximation of a smile as he opened some of his frills.
"I am Jeolas, and I'm here to stop the worship of false gods among our common enemies, which will probably lead to a lot of deaths. We are here to talk about tactics, and where you recommend we strike. Our current plan is to pass through the Dreadrock mountains and infiltrate Furchenstein, expanding from there and purifying everyone that stands in our way."
He said this without dropping his smile, which made the sound aswell as his visage something truly terrible to behold.
The person in front of him nodded at that, seeming to relax as the other guy identified himself.
"I am commander Ilsac, and it is my job to make sure the next attack lands right in their heart. If you have a safe way of passing the Dreadrocks, and we go around, the east flank, we can surprise them from two sides they did not expect to be confronting at any time."
He said, slowly moving his body up and down as he waitedfor his new allies' ideas.
"I like that Idea, we will have Furchenstein under our control in no time, and all it will take is the growth of a seed our ancestors have planted a long time ago. I recommend that your people stay out of those lands, though. We do not need to find out what your religious affiliations are. Just remember, the false divine gifts are easily taken by those who remained pure, and we recommend getting rid of any affiliation to them before the confrontation with the Sacret kingdom begins. We promise you purity, and hope you know the influence those beasts have on everyone's minds."
He said, smiling.
"Thank you for letting us rest for the day."
He gestured to the slowly rising sun.
"But I am curious."
He send a wave of mana out, his smile completely dissapearing as a sidden ghasp came from the shadows of the tent.
"Whether this one is part of your guys?"
The sound of crunching, stones grinding against eachother beneath the blue- white colouring of the tent, if looked almost comical when a large man, muscles bulging and a great axe in his hands,as he loomed even above the gigantic margan, his naked form quite intimidating, even compared to the mixture of golden scales and emerald chitin the commander was coated in.
Ilsac's hood flared open as his head turned by 180 degrees, his stinger striking the assassin as soon as it was revealed.
"Fuck... how the hell did you find him? Even my detection skills couldn't spot that bastard."
He said. As he did so, Jeolas infused the corpse with his now favourite technique.
"Create Golem." He said, finally ellicting a sound from his opponent.
"It's simple, I always search for Mana changes in my surroundings, and from time to time, I send out a detection wave. Like a bats scream."
The warlock explained, talking a bit louder than before to be heard over his victims screams.
"I won't call them born of snow, I think they should be called the snowborn. That way, it's easier to say their name."
HHeexplained his Idea while pieces of rock burrowed in the guys body, penetrating his organs and skin while it bound to the mans soul.
The cursing soon devolved into howls and cries of pain, the assassin completely imobile as he began to hope the venom would take him out before the petrification was completed.
"Finally someone ai can work with properly. If we move that toxin into his fingers, we get a much more efficient beast..."
He pondered, the cries turning to garbled sounds as the petrified flesh infected nearby skin and bones, traveling ever faster.
"Oh, that's what I do to all the guys and girls that stand in my way. Your kind has a two gender system, if I am not mistaken. I'm sorry if you have a distinction between physical and mental gender. I am running entirely on the things I observed so far."
The commander did not say a thing, now realizing where his guests personal guard came from. He could swear that the sound of rocks crunching against one another sounded like screams, especially as the snowborn was fully turned golem and joined Jeolas army.
"Thank you for saving me, may the desert winds blow ever upon your enemies."
Ilsac said, ending the meeting with the words his kin had used for ages.
"And may your carapace be cooled by the gentle evening breeze."
Jeolas concluded, stepping into the sun and dissapearing to the baracks that had been prepared for them.
