Chapter 16

After completing their mission, Team Kusa began their journey back to Kusagakure. The return trip was much quicker and easier, as they weren’t carrying any cargo this time. They only needed to stay alert for potential attacks from bandits or rogue ninjas. Fortunately, there were no incidents, and they arrived at the vilge without trouble.

Upon arrival, Miyuki allowed them to rest for a few days before resuming training. Those days of rest passed quickly, and soon it was time to begin a new phase of individual training. Miyuki had designed specific exercises for each team member, tailored to their talents and areas for improvement.

Miyuki took Akihiro to a calm area beside the river, where the water flowed gently, creating a rexing atmosphere with the sound of small waves hitting the rocks.

–Today, I’ll teach you a simple but effective water ninjutsu – Miyuki said, forming hand signs to demonstrate the new jutsu – Water Style: Furious Wave Jutsu!

Miyuki took a firm stance, concentrating chakra in her mouth while her hands performed quick and precise seals. Akihiro watched intently as his teacher focused her chakra, until finally, Miyuki leaned forward and released a powerful bst of water from her mouth.

The water shot out with high pressure, like a massive, dense waterfall sweeping everything in its path. The stream expanded into a continuous, strong flow, striking the rocks in front of them and shattering them into fragments under the force of the water.

The high-pressure current created a devastating line of impact, pushing the river water and tearing the vegetation along the banks. Miyuki gradually reduced the chakra output until the flow began to fade and eventually stopped. She straightened up, rubbing her mouth, as water-based ninjutsu wasn’t her specialty, and the need to concentrate chakra and use nature transformation to turn it into water chakra was challenging. Fortunately, although this jutsu looked destructive, it wasn’t truly powerful in combat and was considered a basic jutsu among Water Style ninjutsu, something anyone with some brainpower and nature transformation mastery could achieve.

Akihiro felt the damp wind and the trembling ground under his feet due to the residual effects of the jutsu.

–As you can see, Akihiro, by reguting the chakra amount, you can control both the intensity and the range of the technique. Furious Wave Jutsu is as destructive as the chakra you put into it – Miyuki expined as the water settled back into the river.

Akihiro watched with fascination, understanding the versatility of the jutsu and the power it could unleash if he managed to master it.

–Alright, now I’ll teach you the basics of the jutsu. Listen carefully—I hope I won’t have to repeat it.

Akihiro nodded with determination. Miyuki expined the basic steps, emphasizing the importance of precise chakra control to shape and strengthen the water.

–The key is to focus and control the flow – instructed Miyuki as Akihiro practiced the movement. After several failed attempts, he finally managed to create a small stream of water; though still weak, it was a good start.

–Well, it looks like you can perform it to a certain extent, although it cks power, and you need to increase the chakra amount to make it lethal – said Miyuki, smiling approvingly. With clear instructions, Akihiro continued practicing on his own.

Then Miyuki went to find Aiko, who was waiting in a rocky area, away from the river. There, Aiko was working on mastering an earth ninjutsu: the Doton: Doryūheki, a technique that allows the user to raise a rock wall for defense or to block attacks.

–Aiko, control over earth chakra is crucial. It’s not just about the amount of chakra but how you distribute it to keep the structure stable – Miyuki expined. It wasn’t the first time she had said this, and although Aiko didn’t seem to struggle with understanding the concept, she still wasn’t quite getting the hang of this type of ninjutsu.

Miyuki stayed, pointing out the mistakes Aiko was making, helping her advance little by little. Unlike Akihiro, who quickly grasped the basics of his jutsu, Aiko took a bit longer.

After many tries, Aiko managed to raise a small wall, although it colpsed almost immediately. Aiko couldn’t quite understand what she was doing wrong.

Miyuki had figured it out long ago but didn’t pn on telling her student, as it wouldn’t help. She focused on guiding Aiko each time the wall colpsed, helping her improve her chakra distribution to compact the earth effectively.

After several more attempts, Aiko finally created a medium-sized, fairly stable wall, though it was still somewhat unstable.

–Now work on the duration. Keeping the structure stable is as important as creating it – Miyuki said, pleased with her progress. With this foundation, Aiko continued training on her own.

Finally, Miyuki went to find Hiroshi, who was in a field surrounded by trees, an ideal setting for practicing his fire techniques. Miyuki had taught him the Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu, a powerful technique that creates a rge fireball.

–Even though you already know the Fireball Jutsu, your control over the element remains unstable. Fire responds well to chakra, but without proper control, it can turn against you – Miyuki warned as Hiroshi prepared.

Hiroshi took a deep breath, gathered chakra within himself, and channeled it into his mouth before performing the hand seals. His first attempt produced a small, weak fireball, but he wasn’t discouraged. With each try, he focused on increasing the chakra amount and giving the technique a precise shape.

–Remember, it’s not just the amount of chakra but how you concentrate the fire into a single point before releasing it – Miyuki instructed as Hiroshi continued practicing.

Finally, after several attempts, Hiroshi created a fireball that, though not as rge as that of an experienced ninja, showed significant improvement in his control.

–Great job, Hiroshi! Now work on controlling the size and power of the fme. The fire must be precise, without wasting chakra – Miyuki encouraged him to keep practicing.

By the end of the afternoon, Miyuki gathered the entire team for a talk before sending them off.

–You all did a great job today. Don’t stop now—keep practicing. The key to ninjutsu is perseverance, dedication, and control. Each of you has a unique path, but you can all improve by supporting each other.

Exhausted but satisfied, Team Kusa returned to their homes to rest. In the days that followed, they continued training, each focused on perfecting what they had learned and pushing their own limits.
