The Wenthaiss Count Family

  AnnouncementPLEASE READ

I forgot to pce the power system in the lore dump back in chapter two, so I'm going to do it right here instead. Please read, otherwise I'll probably reiterate the system during the school semester.

NoviceApprenticeAdeptExpertMasterArchmageElderHopefully, I'll be able to incorporate this in a more practical sense within the novel.

  Ryad POV:

The boy kicked the ground and closed the distance between us. The boy immediately began letting out an endless flurry of punches. The boy left me no choice but to keep dodging and avoiding most of his attacks. However, the intensity of the boy's attacks was overwhelming, I wasn't able to completely dodge all of his attacks.

The attacks that ended up nding on my body had devastating consequences for me. Almost every damaged area had broken bones, or intense internal bleeding. I merely gritted my teeth and continued dodging the boys attacks, I also started trying to deflect some of the boys attacks as well. I wasn't aiming to completely deflect his attacks, but if I could redirect the force into an area that wouldn't affect my battle prowess as much, that would have been crucial for me in the long run.

"C'mon! Fight back!!!" The boy yelled before lifting his left leg and push kicking me square on the chest.

The force behind the attack once again sent me flying through the forest and crashing into more trees. I staggered to my feet before puking another mouthful of blood. My head was beginning to spin, my body was heavy, and my breaths had become more and more bored as time passed.

My senses picked up the boy beginning to make his way to me at breakneck speed. However, that st kick that the boy had dealt to me proved to be the finishing blow to this skirmish. I could only look up at the boy, and watch him deliver a nasty roundhouse kick right to my jaw.

That was the st thing I remember seeing.

  Third Person POV:

"Damn, this bitch hadn't fully recovered yet. Maybe I shouldn't have pushed him too far," the boy muttered as he looked down at his knocked out sve.

This had been the fifth sve that he had bought from those bastard sve traders. The other four had already died in the very same forest that he had taken Ryad for a 'light spar'.

However, it seemed that the boy's sve was going to be the fifth casualty for this misadventure.

The boy was looking for a durable sve that could be useful once he entered the Academy. According to his brother, it was a status quo for a noble to bring in a servant for 'personal assistance'. Whether it be for a training dummy, body guard, or even as a tool to use for personal pns; nobility were allowed to bring in at least one servant to the Academy.

That was according to his brother.

The boy slowly grabbed the Ryad by his hair and used his wind magic to carry Ryad.

Just as he was about to leave with the sve; he couldn't help but notice a rather particurly rge scar on the back of his unconscious sve.

"The fuck is this....I don't remember seeing this when I bought you," the boy muttered as he flipped over the floating Ryad to get a better look at it.

The scar completely covered the sve's back; it was a dark red scar that ran vertically down Ryad's spine and stopped just above where his pants. Moreover, a rge scar ran across his shoulder bde giving it the image of a cross of sorts. It looked pretty bad, but at the same time, it looked like it had been engrained on the sves skin.

"I'll have him hide this the moment we get to the Academy. This shit looks gross," the boy remarked as his face contorted with disgust.

He immediately turned around and took to the skies, dragging his sve along with him using wind magic.

The two soon got back into the city, and the boy once again left his sve in the hotel room that he had dragged him out of earlier.

He had to get some more stuff done before he left the small town; one of them being gathering some more school supplies, and a proper weapon that he could use within the Academy. His father had given him a lot of money to gather some stuff for the Academy. It was also supposed to serve as pocket money for his semester within the Academy.

The boy was to gather all these supplies and reach the Academy in three days before they started the entrance ceremony. He had previously gone to the capital of the Stoneshire Dynasty, Halloway, so that he could take the entrance exam.

He naturally passed with flying colors, and had managed to reserve a first css seat in his year. However, if he wanted his sve to attend the Academy, he was going to need to arrive earlier so that his sve could go through the entrance exams.

Suddenly, inside his pocket, something began vibrating on a periodic basis.

The boy picked up the object before pressing a button on the object to pick up the call.

"Brighton, where are you?" A voice could be heard coming from the object.

"I'm still at Maplewood, I wanted to get a sve before I get to Halloway. Something wrong Ethan?" Brighton, the boy, asked his older brother.

"Not really, but if you keep zing around you're gonna miss the servant's qualification exam. It's happening by the end of the week," Ethan replied, "nearly all the nobility in the Stoneshire Dynasty have already arrived. Hell, even the Crown Prince has already arrived, don't be te."

"I got it, we'll be leaving early in the morning tomorrow. So rex," Brighton muttered before ending the call.

Brighton Wenthaiss was the second son of Albert Wenthaiss, who was a count who ruled over Hazeldale county which was located near the shores of the Dynasty. He, like his older brother Ethan Wenthaiss, were all well-known prodigies within the Dynasty. By mastering the initiate stages of the Novice Phase, the two brothers became neophytes at the tender ages of five. Moreover, since Ethan was two years older than his brother, Albert decided to take the initiative to hire a teacher who would nurture the two of them with monstrous progress. By the time Ethan and Brighton were ages eleven and ten respectively, they had already entered the Disciple stages of the Apprentice phase. Some even rumored that they, along with the Crown Prince, could possibly rival the geniuses of the Farrington, Bavell, and Phaera kingdoms. However, that theory had yet to be put to the test.

Currently, Brighton's brother Ethan had been considered the top of his grade, few could match his level of water magic within his grade. Meanwhile, although Brighton was graded to be the second in his css, this was only because the Crown Prince had taken the top position within the school. Moreover, there was little possibility that Brighton would be taking the top spot anytime soon.

This was because the Crown Prince was the reincarnation of the founder of the Stoneshire Dynasty, Remington H. Stoneshire. Though, in his current lifetime, he was known as Theodore Stoneshire, son of Arnold Stoneshire. He was at the cusp of attaining the Adept stage, making him one the strongest mages within the entire Academy.

Brighton sighed before he returned to his own hotel. The distance between Maplewood and Halloway was about a day's distance; he already had notified his escorts that they would departing early in the morning. So the only thing left was to get some sleep.

  Ryad POV:

I woke up with a rather splitting headache.

I couldn't see any sunlight, so I immediately concluded that it was night time. My body ached, but it was nothing compared to what I had been feeling while I was in the forest.

I already knew that I was in the room that I woke up in earlier today. The boy probably brought me back after he knocked me out.

I sighed and slowly got out of bed. My feet touched the cold wooden floor as I stood up and stretched my limbs.

Recalling the battle, no, beatdown I had gone through previously. I realized that I had yet to fully understand the limits that this body had; I needed to figure out where the limits of my strength lied. Normally, I would look for a sight of grace to rest and analyze my strength. However, there was nothing of the sort in this world, so I needed to find an alternative method of doing so.

I tried opening the door so I could step out and get some fresh air. However, the door remained shut, it appeared that the boy had locked me inside the room so I wouldn't escape. I sighed before I sat back down on my bed.

'This is going to be harder than I thought'
