Chapter 94: They Clashed!
Cheers!
As Celia and Melta clanged swords again, those in the audience cheered as loud as they could. And not a single person sung Melta’s praises.
Instead, they shouted Celia’s name, over and over again. After all, they’ve watched her this entire time, and they were not aware… that Celia couldn’t hold up to their beliefs.
Melta: “It is… frustrating to not be cheered on. I didn’t pay much attention to others in the Game… I guess, that you’re a celebrity to them, huh?” She mused, their swords still touching.
Celia: “Yes, I guess so.” She replied with a giggle.
Their swords were connected, sparks and metal being thrown into their air. Celia and Melta tested each other’s strength, pressing onto their swords with full force.
To Celia, this was fun, but to Melta… she felt fearful, yet invigorated. Celia was no longer at full power without her System, and, couldn’t save every Universe.
She knew this, so Celia didn’t put much stock into what the audience did. After all, in the end, they’d all hate her. Celia understood that Faith’s plan was horrid, yet, with her love, was unable to stop it.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Of course, if she knew the full weight and horribleness of Faith’s, and now Runey’s plan… she’d have at least tried to stop her. Either way, Celia fought for real, ignoring her breaking body.
Maralia: “Same as before, beat Melta into a bloody pulp, and then I can save her.” She informed directly into Celia’s mind.
Celia: “Alright, thank you.” She replied with a warm tone.
Maralia: “…Don’t thank me. Faith… and I, for not stopping her, will be horrible, horrible people. After this is all over… I can only hope that you’ll forgive us.” She said with a grim, remorseful tone.
Celia, though fighting, had her mind race. With her great imagination, Celia was able to envision countless ways that Faith had to save her. Unfortunately for Celia, not even the worse plan came close to Faith’s intentions, and future sins.
Celia: “…”
Whoosh!
Melta: “Stop being distracted! It pisses me off…” She exclaimed in a huff.
Celia: “Oh, sorry.” She replied with a forced smile.
She apologized, but all that did was… just make her opponent angrier. While not really paying full attention to the fight, Celia even easily dodge an attack from Melta, which upset her further.
With each strike from either of them, neither holding back their power, shock waves, Divinity, and Mana, were sent to the audience.
Luckily, the audience stands were protected by the Game, with a barrier which could withstand Celia’s and Melta’s power. As for what Celia is distracted by…
Celia: “Maralia, where did Faith go?” She asked in her mind.
Maralia: “I have no idea, sorry.” She answered, lying.
Yes, once the fight started, Faith had vanished. Celia was hoping that… the crazy woman didn’t run away, all so that her plan could be carried out. Of course, this was what Faith had done.
