Chapter 97: She Made Her Choice.
Melta: “…”
With no System to protect Celia, and their race being the same, Melta could look at Celia’s Status.
Rather than give her a st-minute edge… all it did was make Melta furious. After all, this entire time, Celia, a dying woman, had fought Melta without a sweat.
Looking at the audience, Melta felt her mind burn. It wasn’t like she was a warrior, fighting against fate, struggling to survive a cruel destiny. Instead, the audience likely saw her as a monster, beating someone who was barely even able to defend themselves. Melta, herself, now saw herself the same as them, in fact…
Melta: “Celia… you wish for me to die? To… surrender, even though my opponent is dying?” She asked with her arms crossed.
Celia: “You won’t die.” She replied with a confused head tilt.
Melta: “…” “She… isn’t lying?!” She confusedly thought.
Celia was majorly stronger than Melta, but that ship already sailed. In truth, Celia wasn’t able to fight any longer, with Maralia and Faith not being allowed to save her at the moment.
Celia: “Melta, I have… a wife in a high pce of the Game. As long as they forfeit, and are practically dead, a Pyer can be saved by her.” She expined with a serious, coaxing tone.
Melta: “…”
Being coaxed by someone who was deeply younger than her… oddly calmed Melta down. Celia was too weak to fight now, but Melta wasn’t any better. She could barely even stand up straight right now, let alone fight Celia to the death.
Melta: “Are you willing to sign a Soul Contract on this?” She proposed.
Celia: “I am willing, yes.” She instantly agreed.
Melta: “Oh? Then… why aren’t you making one appear?” She replied with a raised eyebrow.
Celia: “I… don’t know how to do one without the assistance of the System. I lost it a bit ago, you see.” She answered with an embarrassed expression.
Melta: “( o_o).”
Now knowing that Celia had easily beaten her without a System, was the final nail in Melta’s coffin. There could be no better insult than this, yet Melta didn’t feel the need to sh out against the one who so thoroughly bested her.
Ding!
In the next second, a SC appeared in front of Celia and Melta. On it, was stated that Celia’s words were the truth. If they weren’t, then Celia would instantly die after signing it.
Melta: “…I’ve signed mine.” She informed, shakily.
Even after all this, Melta wasn’t certain of Celia being honest. Though, if the woman signed her SC, and she didn’t die, then Celia was truly being truthful this entire time.
Celia: “Done.” She said with a brilliant smile.
Melta: “…I surrender.” She replied with a bow.
With her words, the Game was over. Melta vanished, but soon reappeared with the audience members. As for Celia, she was still in the ring, with being far stronger than her now present…
