  Yeeeeeh, Bruh!

The door started to creak. Wait, is someone trying to open it? I can see a color taking over the edges. Are they using magic to do it?

I don't know what's going to happen, so I hid behind some rocks, just in case, and activated [Camoufge].

  - It's finally open! I told you the coding magic would work!

Light invaded the room for a moment. My vision went white and blurred for a few seconds. When it recovered, clearly in the literal sense, I could see that it was sunlight.

From where I'm standing, I see a peculiar trio: a young boy, a man and a beautiful girl, all wearing characteristic clothes.

  - Boy, I still don't think coming here was a good idea, even though it's a reconnaissance mission.

  - There's no point in talking like that, you know Axel is an enthusiastic blockhead.

  - Hey, shut up, both of you! You don't think about the possibilities!

Well, at least I can be sure that everyone is noisy, especially that boy. Strangely, I can understand them.

I don't know what kind of nguage it is, but I understood it clearly, despite knowing cssical and modern Japanese, having intermediate notions of English and being a complete beginner in Mandarin. It's nothing like what I've heard before, but I could interpret it easily.

  - They say these are ruins that have been unexplored for over 300 years! Think of the treasures this pce could hold!

  - Treasures? That's all you think about, isn't it? We still have to recover from the attack by those giant lizards, not to mention the fact that we had to dodge the orcs, which only deyed our journey.

  - I told you not to worry, monsters like those lizards are only B css. You wouldn't be easily subdued by any of them, even if you wanted to.

  - But we still got lucky. If we ran into a Basilisk, even you wouldn't be able to handle it, since they're css A.

  - Hey! I'm a B+ css adventurer! If I go up one more rank, I'll become A css! And besides, I can handle Basilisks with ease.

  - Even with the petrifying spell?

  - Well... that would be a bit of work, but who likes an easy job, right?

  - Right, right. Anything, I can use my [Tactical Withdrawal] to avoid an imminent confrontation.

  - Will you two be quiet? I need to concentrate to use my [Serene Presence] spell.

  Huh? Are they gone?

With my [Infrared Vision], I could see them moving on. This invisibility is more efficient than mine, although it took about a minute to cast.

Although there was no interaction, these were the first humans I had met since being trapped in this dungeon. Since they're here, I imagine they know at least a little about the danger of this pce. They might even end up getting lost... or who knows how to find a way out.

Even so, I haven't made any approaches. With the way I look, I think they could see me as a threat, and I don't want to make a bad impression. It's better to let them get on with it.

Besides, as I've already tackled the most difficult roads, I think the rest of the journey there will be uneventful.

  Yeeeeeh!

Uh-oh! The gate is closing! At this distance, I need to run!

If I dey any longer, it will close completely, and I don't know how long it will be before they come back here to open it.

  Let's go...

  POOOW!

Uff... My tail almost got caught. That could have really hurt!

After the bang, the gate closed completely.

With the camoufge ability I inherited from that samander, I managed to get out without any problems, without attracting their attention. Still, I feel I should warn them of the dangers, but I'm reluctant... especially as I'm considered a possible threat.

I dealt with some corrupted monsters on the way here, but the real dangers of this dungeon are still a big mystery.

In any case, I can't miss the chance to get out of here.

Light... I didn't think I'd see it so soon.

After so long, I finally felt the sun on my skin and, to my surprise, I didn't burn or melt!

  ***

Finally, outside, I could feel the sun on my skin, something I hadn't experienced for a long time. I even considered the possibility of melting under its heat or its intense light, as if it were a natural element capable of corroding everything around it. That's what I was able to deduce from Syphus' vague information.

Even so, just like inside, I continued walking aimlessly, following a natural dirt and stone road. Apart from the gate, there aren't many signs of human life around here, except for the group I saw earlier. After all, we're in the middle of a forest.

As I imagined, it was on some kind of mountain, but only the entrance was visible. The only access path seemed to go down into the underground levels of the dungeon. As I moved away, I already lost sight of it, but if I climbed a tree, I could see it from afar.

There was nothing else to do in that pce. The door had somehow been magically sealed - or so I assumed. Of course, I didn't try to open it again; there was no reason to go back there just yet.

From the heat I feel from the sunlight, I can assume that it's around noon, since the sun is directly above me, almost in the center of the sky. I can't tell the time by the shadows or the position of the sun, but the temperature makes it clear.

After the recent rest, even after a wave of fights, I don't see a problem in continuing to walk to... well, who knows where.

One of my Kouhais dropped a peculiar saying, something he read on the internet. He said it in a moment of tension, when he didn't know what to do in difficult times or what decision to make, like a blind person in the middle of a firefight. I don't know if I said it exactly as he did, but I can say that I find myself in a simir, adverse situation.

I'm in the middle of a dense forest and I don't know what awaits me. Unlike the cave, I don't feel any hostile or threatening presences. On the one hand, this is good, but it can still be bad. Perhaps my perception in open, quiet environments is weaker, which means that the threat could be lurking without me realizing it. So I remain alert.

And I can't hide anymore, as my [Camoufge] skill is more effective in dark environments. Yes, I tested it while I was walking around here. During the day, my adaptation to the color of the environment is limited, unlike at night, when my presence is almost invisible. Out here, my camoufge resembles what a chameleon would do, or any other animal adapted to its environment because of its appearance.
