Third Person POV:
Seeing that the human had accomplished what he had set out for, Aaos quickly grabbed the soul of the human before the rush of divinity could sweep him away into godhood. However, he encountered a bit of resistance when retrieving his soul.
To Aaos, the soul felt transparent, as if the soul didn't exist in the realm completely to begin with. This resulted in Aaos using a bit more of his power to draw out the soul from wherever the source of projection may had been into the palm of his hand.
"You will be of great use to me.....and a battle hardened warrior like you will be..." The Death God's expression flickered with slight amusement as he combed through the soul's thoughts, his beliefs and his preferences, "the others are going to love you."
He quickly began gathering all the things that he wanted from the world, and as Aaos was getting ready to leave, he couldn't help but notice that there was a presence that had been watching him rather vigintly the entire time.
Turning, Aaos returned the gaze right back at his watcher. The two divine beings said nothing to each other and remained staring at each other for a long time.
Seeing that nothing else was going to happen, Aaos turned and dissapeared, the gaze slowly turned its attention back to the fire consumed nd; its expression unreadable.
Returning to his domain, Aaos immediately got to work and began prepping for his next move.
The end goal that the Death God was envisioning was to repair the cycle of reincarnation and reintroduce souls back into the cycle the proper way.
The key element that the system of reincarnation was the fact that the souls would be purified from the previous memories, beliefs and personalities that they had in their previous lives. The construct of a soul is only strong enough to contain the essence of one lifetime. Although having multiple lifetime experiences would be advantageous and give the individuals more powerful, it would come at the cost of the souls purity, as the multiple personalities would overp each other; causing the soul to lose its initial purity and become more and more corrupted the more cycles the soul went through.
Moreover, it was slowly beginning to show that there was going to be a bit of overpopution, as new souls were being introduced to the world just as much as the other souls were reincarnating.
It was something that the gods knew very well. Moreover, they had already created artificial methods to combat this issue. Esrasil had blessed Nathaniel with a soul strengthening to increase his durability so he wouldn't suffer as much when he reincarnated. The other gods had taken measures simir to this in order to ensure their descendant's safety whenever they reincarnated.
As, how much would they be able to endure before they ended up being corrupted?
Every century that passed, Aaos could see more and more reincarnated souls giving into the corruption and reincarnating as demons instead. The only highlight about this was that the knowledge behind that method of reincarnation had begun eroding from the sands of time, limiting those aware of its power exclusive to members of royalty, some very old mortal souls, and the souls of those who had yet to give in to the corruption. The numbers weren't as much as they were in the st century.
Powerful souls who ended up reincarnating into demons had already been recognized as formidable figures in the nd of Demons. The next Demon Lord resurrection was going to be the toughest battle that Kyron would face yet.
Aaos carefully reconstructed the rune of death before modifying it to suit Kyron's ws of physics and magic. The way the Rune of Death had been formatted in its previous world, it only signified the resting of the soul in preparation to be reintegrated with that rge tree that Aaos saw burning. Instead, he repurposed it so that any soul that so much as made contact with its magic whenever used, were immediately to be sent back into the system of reincarnation that Aaos designed. Burning any and all possible pre-pced methods that could have influenced the soul to travel somewhere else upon death. This mark was going to be permanent, it was a practical permanent GPS back to the cycle of reincarnation.
Also, he decided to add a little bit of his own divinity to the bde to mask its foreign presence. The other gods would be livid if they had found out that the source of their troubles was brought into the world through artificial means.
Aaos had other pns in mind as well. Since this pn was also going to include the Demon Race, he was going to have to reformat the system of reincarnation so that it would fit their needs as well. However, that was going to come ter on; when he was sure that this was going to work against them.
Either way, Aaos eventually finished modifying the rune and integrated it successfully within the soul of the mortal without any complications. Now the question was where he would pce this soul into so that it could have a body.
Aaos reappeared into the mortal realm. There weren't any decent bodies he would have been able to put that fit the mortals age back in his previous world. The normal civilian mortal body wasn't strong enough to contain a soul of this calibre, so he was going to need the body of a mortal that had magical properties in the least. However, most of those bodies were either skeletons, food for the monster-kin, or already recimed by the souls of other reincarnates.
Aaos was currently in the Stoneshire Dynasty and he was about to head to the Farrington empire when he caught sight of a rather interesting individual.
The body already had magic properties, and it didn't seem like he belonged to any of the gods. Aaos immediately pced the mortal's soul into the body before anything else happened to it.
Satisfied with the outcome of events, he headed back into his domain.
"Let's see how capable you are in this world. Don't disappoint me..." The God of Death gave the mortal a small smile as he disappeared.
???? POV:
"You're about to sacrifice something precious..."
The memories were slowly coming back to me.
"The life of a fair maiden, you would toss into the fiery forge.. What a horrible thing to ponder..."
Shabriri's soothing voice echoed in my mind..
"Spare the poor girl.."
The memories of one of my st meetings with Melina came to mind
"It is chaos, devouring life and thought unending."
Her pleading voice rung in mind.
"Please....leave the Frenzied Fme alone."
The memories slowly began overloading my mind. Countless voices overpping, making me feel like I was going to go mad.
"Ah, may chaos take the world...." Shabriri's voice continued to echo.
I tried to ignore it and put it away.
"MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!!!!!!!"
I woke up in a cold sweat. My breaths were heavy, and I could feel my body drenched with sweat. It took me a bit of time for me to calm down.
Immediately after I couldn't help but notice the change in surroundings. If I recall correctly, I had been at the base of the Erdtree and summoned the Frenzied fme.
This was not the Erdtree.
"Where am I?" I thought aloud.
"Why does my voice sound so high pitched?" I quickly asked as I stared at my body.
My stature had been way smaller than I remembered it. My hands even smaller; if I were to make an accurate guess, I was probably in my early to mid teens.
I quickly got up from my sweat drenched bed and tried to get up, only to fall on my face. My legs appeared to be asleep or something. Regardless, I managed to stand on my own two feet after a bit of struggle, and dragged my feet to what I assumed was a bathroom. It was strange, I had never seen a bedroom with a bathroom all in the same location.
Within the bathroom, a mirror was pced on a wall above the bucket. Between the bucket and the mirror, a metal contraption stuck out like a sore thumb between two different metal parts.
I ignored all of them and immediately faced the mirror to get a good look of my face. Sure enough, I was not in my body, it was almost as if I was recreated in the body of another.
The facial features of the body I was in were rather handsome. Smooth tan skin, with long bck hair that was tied in a messy bun in the back of my head. The irises of my eyes were obsidian bck, but my pupils were crimson red. The shape of my irises were rather peculiar, reminding me of the eyes of a Lion Guardian. It was then that I began to take note of my teeth, elongated canines and rather sharp incisors, two canines protruded from my upper jaw. Looking at my body, I couldn't help but notice that there were countless scars across my torso; I was decently fit, but I was more on the skinnier side. Moreover I felt a sharp pain at the top of my rump. Pulling down my pants slightly, I saw a bloody stump that I assume used to be my tail.
'What the hell happened to this body?'
Every sign pointed towards abuse; possibly a former sve thanks to the faint colr markings around my neck. I didn't look malnourished, but rather fed just enough for me to perform tasks to an optimal level. Under my eyes, I couldn't help but notice the bck bags under my eyes; signs of sleep deprivation.
"It seems that this body has been through quite a lot....but now what?" I asked out loud.
Even if I were to assume that the Greater Will had simply sent my soul to reincarnated to a new world. Wouldn't the logical question be where to go from there?
It wasn't as if I had been born into a new born babe, I was in the body of a teenager.
'The best I can do is look around to get a proper grasp of my surroundings'
I was about to reach for the door, but I smelt something coming from the other side. It felt familiar, but I just didn't know what it reminded me of.
The door burst open, immediately snapping me out of my train of thought, and in front of me stood a boy of a simir age as me. His green eyes shone with arrogance as he gred down at me.
"Wh-?" I couldn't even finish what I was about to say because the boy kicked me square on the chest and sent me crashing into the bed I had just got out of.
"It seems that you're alive, those sve traders weren't lying when they said that you're more resilient than you looked," the boy remarked condescendingly.
He grabbed me by the hair and lifted me up to make eye contact with him.
"I'll make a competent servant out of you before we get to the academy," the boy stated as he began smiling sinisterly, "but first, I will engrain into your bones the consequences of disobedience."
